RISKLOG focuses on the global management of industrial legal risks within the Supply Chain, and more specifically on the industrial-port territory of Rouen. It offers a holistic, multidisciplinary approach (law; regional planning) to lead to improved knowledge and operational solutions for risk management and coverage (insurance, etc.). The importance and financial growth of accidental risks, industrial, health or other, incurred by companies has given birth to a new function, "risk management". Risk management, in the area of risks to which companies and more particularly manufacturers are subject, consists in managing the risks likely to harm company's assests. This approach is part of a "magic square": Identification - Prevention - Treatment - Transfer. It is first of all a matter of identifying these risks, of evaluating them, of considering remedies both at the upstream stage, to prevent them and at the downstream stage, when the hazard occurs, to remedy the consequences of this risk. risk. The originality of the project lies in the scope of the study. Professional scope first of all, since it is the particular risks generated within the framework of logistics chains in the urban and port environment that will be studied. Geographical scope also, since the territorial anchoring of the partners and the good knowledge of the field make it possible in the study of these risks to find a study ground entirely characteristic of this type of risks within Metropole Rouen Normandie ‘ scope (Metropole Rouen Normandie: Intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Rouen). After a phase of identification and characterization of risks, the study plans to map them. Recommendations intended for public and private decision-makers, in particular supply chain companies, are the desired outcome of this project.

According to the European Commission, passenger transport is projected to increase 42% by 2050, and freight transport up to 60%. Needless to say, this puts an enormous burden on transport networks and our environment. Compared to other modes of transport – which often face congestion and capacity problems – inland waterway transport is characterised by reliability, energy efficiency and a capacity for increased use. More than 37,000 km of waterways connect hundreds of cities and industrial regions in Europe. In the EU, 13 countries share an interconnected waterway network, highlighting the potential for increasing the modal share of inland waterway transport. This will not happen unless we can make inland waterways economically competitive. However, with crew costs accounting for 60% of the total cost, autonomous inland vessels represent an exciting disruptive technology. AUTOBarge is about seizing an opportunity. Europe’s waterways are a vital resource that we have underused for most of the last century. Now, with the possibility for mass autonomous shipping, these canals and rivers offer a network that we can exploit without damaging the environment to the extent of new roads and aircraft runways. But to be able to do this we need new people with new skills. These innovators must be experts in remote control, monitoring, smart logistics, regulatory aspects, and many more areas associated with the complexity of inland shipping. The 15 early-stage researchers recruited to AUTObarge will begin this transport revolution.

GOLIA will work on an integrated, interdisciplinary and Adaptive Mobility Smart Governance Model, relying on data-based, social optimum-driven approach and inclusive policy making processes to ensure an adaptive, accessible and just mobility system. By relying on the integration of STEM and SSH expertise and approaches, GOLIA will revolutionize spatial and mobility planning by co-developing and testing (with three European communities) the vision-led Social Optimum Mobility Index, based not only on economic variables but also on indicators such as social support, healthy life quality, freedom to make life choices. The index will be location and time-dependent to enable dynamic management of transport offer and spaces. GOLIA also aims at understanding: - to which extent and under which conditions, data generated by Smart Cities supported by AI-based tools and - novel communication and consultation channels and methodologies to engage citizens and stakeholders beyond mobility practitioners might foster the establishment of a new inclusive and adaptive mobility governance, able to deliver policies resilient to political instability, pandemics or any other more or less disruptive event, as they are co-developed, co-designed, and co-monitored by and for citizens and firms. Finally, GOLIA will support European mobility communities in ensuring a Sustainable digital and green transition, by providing policy makers with tools, methodologies and evidence-based recommendations to align local, regional and national transport and mobility plans to the European Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals, enabling the gradual phase-out from car-dependency.

MultiRELOAD focusses on the specific role and challenges of inland ports as multimodal freight nodes in reaching Europe’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction target of at least 55 % by 2030, thereby shifting a substantial part of the 75% of inland freight carried today by road in the EU to inland waterways and rail, and by increasing operational efficiency, safety and reliability of existing infrastructures through digitalization. Inland Ports are key for multimodal transport chains, both continental and maritime transport. Without efficient nodes in the hinterland multimodal transport is not possible. However, the constraints and barriers are much higher in inland ports (space, urbanisation, demand, investments) than in seaports. MultiRELOAD enhances the collaboration between different freight nodes in Europe to jointly test innovations and create favorable market conditions for multimodal freight transport solutions. MultiRELOAD will demonstrate solutions in three Innovation Areas with specific aims by 2025 – mirroring measures of the EU’s Smart Mobility Strategy: A) Smart multimodal logistics: facilitate a shift from road to rail & IWT of 5%; B) Digital & Automated Multimodal Nodes and Corridors: increase operational efficiency by 20 % raise of handling capacity; C) Innovative business models: leading to an average cost reduction of freight transport by 10%. MultiRELOAD involves highly ambitious logistics hubs, including the multimodal node duisport (DE), Duisburg's highly ambitious port and the world’s largest and most advanced trimodal inland hub terminal, and the trimodal nodes Ports of Vienna (AT) and Basel (CH). The project is backed up by additional funding & financing for better integration of the freight transport nodes into overall logistic chains of about 450 Mio. EUR. MultiRELOAD involves a total of 22 partners comprising of highly innovative technology, logistics and service providers, leading European research institutions and well-connected networks.
