Stroke is the second most common cause of death and complex disability, accounting for ~1 million deaths in Europe each year. Total cost of stroke in the EU amounts to €65 billion a year. Main risk factor for stroke is atrial fibrillation (AF), the most common type of sustained cardiac arrhythmia. Early identification of AF can prevent strokes as treatment can be started on time. However, AF is difficult to capture and often not noticed. Classical AF detection methods (electrocardiogram [ECG] and 24 hour-holter-ECG) have less than 20% success rate. Plus these methods are costly and not suitable for routine large-scale screening. German SME company Preventicus developed a smart ICT solution for accurate and cost-efficient AF screening, aiming to prevent stroke, based on technologies present in a standard smartphone. Its technology is clinically proven in international studies (accuracy: 96%, predictive value: >99%). To ensure wide deployment as structured AF detection program, Preventicus has set-up clinical grade services surrounding its ‘core’ technology, e.g. Telecare service to verify AF suspects, to safeguard timely referral of the screened AF-patients to a cardiologist for AF confirmation and treatment initiation. The target market is an attractive high volume market (~150-200M end-users in Europe). Preventicus is the first European player in the market (all its competitors are US-based). As such, investments in the company will enhance Europe’s standing in the smart healthcare technologies market vis à vis the USA. Following successful commercialisation in Germany (~170,000 active users and sales to large health insurance companies), Preventicus is now ready to accelerate growth beyond Germany. Funding will allow the company to take the final steps needed for EU-wide roll-out, directly driving employment growth and profitability of the company (estimated cumulative revenues: €78 million in 2025, representing return of investment of >31 times the EIC grant)

"<< Background >>As detailed in the EU's long-term strategy for 2023 and 2030, environment and climate changes are directly related to humans’ quality of life. Sustainability of climates is important in terms of ensuring that future generations can use and benefit from natural resources. All countries should pay special attention to the five sectors based on Green and Renewable Economy in the Field of Environmental Literacy. These are; renewable energy, sustainable transport, green construction, sustainable tourism, energy efficiency and management, etc. It is extremely important for our world and country to raise generations of entrepreneurs who think green for these sectors. The 2030 strategy of the EU is a binding set of legislation to ensure that it achieves its climate and energy targets. The progression of the EU towards a low-carbon economy and the implementation of the commitments within the Paris Agreement will be achieved by providing green growth and raising green-minded generations. Our project primarily includes innovative concepts and teaching / learning processes of youngster and institution staff in the field of environment and climate. Therefore, it will have a strong scientific basis with innovation for development of the latest applications in this field. Our aim is to raise green-thinking generations in our countries and to create awareness in the field of climate-environmental literacy. According to the environmental problems questionnaire results which we conducted in our region ,the most important problem related to environment and climate is seen as the insensitivity of the new generation and their lack of green entrepreneurship knowledge and vision.Studies for preventing environmental problems before they occur will only come true by raising generations that can think green with environmental literacy. Environmental awareness is a lifelong process that will be systematized. This process is very important for a livable world. Objectives; For youth;1- To increase the capacity of environmental literacy,2- By developing strategies about green economy sectors and employment opportunities, enable them to become entrepreneurs,3- To create opportunities for them to acquire and use integrated, basic, digital and language skills in their development.4- To ensure active participation in political decision-making processes by strengthening critical thinking and creativityFor staff;1- Learning information, experience and strategies about the project topic.2-EU awareness, cultural interaction3-Increasing language proficiency and entrepreneurshipFor the institutions;1-To improve the educational results of young people at risk of failure due to lack of skills, trust and commitment2-Adopting best practices to make the institutions (subject / private / NGO) green perspective more effective3- To be model institutions on environment and climate4-Transnational cooperation<< Objectives >>Combating climate change is among the main priorities of the EU. Germany is among the countries where the effects of climate change pose a high risk due to its geographical location and, moreover, its increasing urban population, energy-based economy and imported energy needs. Like the EU, which wants to have a high energy saving low carbon economy in 2025, Germany aims to reduce its primary energy intensity by 20% (based on 2008 values) by 2023.One of our special goals is to create environmental-climate awareness, which is very important for our region and country. In order to achieve the 2023 targets of our country, environmental literacy and green-thinking generations should be raised. Our institution continues its activities as one of the most active and innovative institutions in our region. It has participated in many projects with local actors and has been carried out as a support. Especially, within the scope of our local, national and transnational cooperation, separate meetings and studies are being carried out with all our stakeholders for the development of green thinking and raising awareness.According to the results of some surveys conducted by the members of the environmental team that we have formed within our organization with local NGOs; It is an important problem that the young generation is insensitive in the field of environment-climate. Another one of our works has been done with the regional enterprises. According to the interviews made with nearly 50 company officials in the region; It has been found that the use and awareness of renewable energy systems is very low. Generally, according to our surveys and interviews, it has been observed that environmental-climate awareness has lost its importance in the society, especially among the youth. In our region; metal waste, plastic waste, electronic waste, use of drinking water, energy, etc. are too high to ignore at present. The results of the study we have done as prEUnec GmbH have made it obligatory to increase the competencies related to environmental literacy and green entrepreneurship and to develop solution-oriented strategies.Within the scope of the activities for the development, testing and implementation of innovative applications with the project; To develop new, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning,To encourage entrepreneurship, especially the green entrepreneurship skills of young people,To exchange information and work together on new solutions. To create awareness of tolerance to EU languages and cultureWe are focused on projects for Sustainable Europe. Our working team, which we have formed for EU applications and information sharing on these issues, continues to cooperate successfully with many domestic and foreign institutions.By developing a green awareness strategy with the project, it will enable a more effective and economic implementation in terms of the long-term strategic goals of the EU countries and our country.<< Implementation >>Short-term LTT activities have been planned for the staff and youth groups of institutions with our project.C1: Green entrepreneurship - (Staff) / GermanyC2: Green entrepreneurship Idea contest and events- (Youth) / RomaniaC3: Literacy of Environment- (staff) / TurkeyC4: Awareness of climate change STUDIES (Youth) / GermanyC5: Youths' context studies with short films that about environement and climate / PortugalAt the end of each LTT activity, it will be supported by local activities and studies. At the same time, local activities will be preliminary and complementary to develop activities in the following months. All educational activities to be organized will support and be part of the EU's project of inclusion in a multicultural society. With staff training, , throughout the entire project implementation, they are competent and experienced institutions to ensure the implementation of the already envisaged LTT activities for further development of best practices, with colleagues and experts from different sectors.Institutions with different good practices in the field of environment-climate will come together and carry out multi-faceted studies to focus on intellectual outputs. They will hold workshops about observation and development of innovative practices using brainstorming methods. In fact, LTT training activities will determine the working style of the ""green youth centers"" that we envision in the project. Stakeholders and youth target groups will ensure active coexistence and direct comparison between the various educational approaches represented.Indeed, it is certain that our GREENWORLD project will affect a change of mentality on the environment-climate, as it touches all of the educators / minorities / immigrants / refugees / social disadvantages and youth groups. We know that it is time to face climate changes that are getting worse every day. Therefore, the attitude of educators for schools and young people is stated as a determining factor in environmental-climate awareness. With the green entrepreneurship and environmental literacy handbooks to be published within the scope of the Project, our trainers will come together and hold trainings in green youth centers. The tendency of the educators to these activities, evaluation of learning and therefore adopting an accessible procedure is essential. It will provide practical experience that will be successful with the support and additional resources to be given by adopting a positive attitude in the cooperation with all institutions. Therefore, staff training of partner organizations represents key milestones for project outputs. When it comes to activities for young people, physical mobility is designed to complement the local activities performed in previous months. These activities have a significant added value for a number of reasons:1. First of all, in order to develop the inclusive dimension, different events and workshops with an intercultural dimension involving international groups. 2. Young people will be able to carry out numerous activities that foster their entrepreneurial aspect, self-confidence, curiosity and inclusiveness.3. Young people will be able to apply and live the environmental-climate gains learned during meetings and workshops in an international context. In addition ; With the joint work of young people from different languages and cultures, it makes a positive contribution to the participants in developing a sense of active European citizenship and enabling them to be a pioneer in environmental-climate issues. LTT mobility activities will also be beneficial, especially for the development of native and foreign language skills. Our young people who take part in the project may one day work together with the actors involved in the decision-making process in EU institutions, local and national institutions, and environment-climate commissions.<< Results >>The results of the projects will be published free of charge for everyone. While receiving Erasmus funds, we are committed to ensuring the sustainability of the results of our project. Therefore, all concrete results, including training documents and materials, will be presented in the form of Open Education Resources (OER) and to the project website (www.E-GREENWORLD.eu / or org.net.com) and also to the institutions websites. The results will also be published on Moodle, a free and open source distance education system. These materials can then be used and downloaded as text, images, e-books or videos, depending on their context. The project website and Moodle will be actively used and maintained at the end of the project and even afterwards. Thus, the results of our work and project outputs will be presented to an unlimited number of people at almost no cost. All partners will use the page during their activities and will be responsible for making sure the results are available at local and regional level. Thanks to the table of responsibilities assigned to each partner, the ""GREENWORLD"" website will remain active and up-to-date, just like social media sites and other promotional and communication tools. This will ensure that results are also available at European and international level. When a new staff member or student (young) joins partner institutions, they will be encouraged to participate in the project at different levels (attending conferences, seminars, mobility, reading, consulting websites, etc.). Thus, even if the ""green thinking center"" and Erasmus + financing ends, it will always live with new energy and enthusiasm. The success of the project depends on making sure our results are widely available, and good communication is essential to make this possible. There will be constant communication between all members of the target audience and partners to ensure the continued visibility of the project. New concepts will be combined with skills and thus capacity and competencies will be increased. Achievements and innovations will be continuously applied and tested so that all target groups can benefit from the results. In this way, the effect of the results will increase and its use will become widespread. With the ""Green Thinking Center"", which will bring together education staff / experts / academicians, young and non-governmental organizations and business owners, we will invest in humanity for a sustainable world / economy and long-lasting sustainability that new generations will benefit from. Thus, we will ensure that the results are used and continue to be used even after the Erasmus funding ends.As a result;Environmental degradation endangers the future of human beings. One of the factors that will contribute to stopping environmental degradation is green entrepreneurship. Green entrepreneurship has the potential to be a catalyst for positive change in both economic and environmental fields.Effects and long term benefits;Participants will improve their transversal skills such as ICT and multilingualism, adoption of environmental literacy and green entrepreneurship, EU citizenship democracy, awareness of business disciplines, and development of core competencies in the project will have an impact on the creation of innovative learning environments.Energy security and green economic growth, which are among the EU 2023 and 2030 strategy targets, will only be possible with generations of green entrepreneurs. The green thinking centers that we aim to develop with our project will contribute to the competitive advantage of our country and Europe in the field of green energy."
