"In the 21st century, with the invasion of smartphones and computers, the use of internet and the spread of information became a public activity, as opposed to its more limited use in the end decades of the 20th century. While this technological jump has allowed access to the masses and has given birth to tremendous achievements for mankind, it also has created a huge gap in relevant education, meaning that people have gained the means to obtain information without having any education on how to filter it and how to distinguish a media source between professional and amateur, provable news or rumor engine or even more spread due to malicious intents. The project tackles the terms ""Internet Misinformation"", ""Fake News"", ""Critical and Analytic Thinking"" and ""Social Media Literacy"", aiming to bring to the surface the negative effects of Internet Misinformation and Fake News, and the benefits of introducing learners to Critical and Analytical Thinking and Social Media Literacy.Precisely, the purpose of the project is an international synergy between 4 European organisations TO TRAIN ADULT WORKERS TO EDUCATE ADULTS IN SOCIAL MEDIA LITERACY AND CRITICAL AND ANALYTICAL THINKING AS MEANS TO COMBAT FAKE NEWS AND SOCIAL MEDIA MISINFORMATION. Having as target groups adult educators, trainers, educators, researchers, experts involved in social media literacy and social media misinformation, and adults as final beneficiaries, we propose the following objectives: 1. To design innovative training contents and methodologies that promote social media literacy,2. To increase the professional development (critical and analytical thinking) of Adult Educators of each partner and of other relevant stakeholders working on training centers and public institutions, who will then transmit them to the adults they work with, 3. To design an Education Resource for Social Media Literacy to guide trainers in their teaching (on-line toolkit). In order to reach the aforementioned goal, this project takes a number of carefully planned steps to introduce Critical and Analytical Thinking and Social Media Literacy to educators working in the field of adults. The following have been planned for the project in terms of IOs and LTTAs:*4 linked IOs:1. A study of the phenomenon which will result in a curriculum structure containing all sectors of knowledge an adult trainer should have on these fields2. Population and testing of the curriculum within Adult Educator groups3. Creation of example lectures on the topic and testing within Adult groups by Adult Educators4. Creation and publication of the project website/material and e-learning content to be used by future Adult Educators.*2 LTTAs involving a small number of adult educators and representatives of larger adult groups (of mixed skills and educational level, including NEET), helping verify the legitimacy of the IOs in reality and also increase the European aspect of the problem this project tackles.1. The First LTTA will be used as a pilot to test the prepared curriculum course on Adult educators and receive feedback. It will include 3 trainers for each organization.2. The Second LTTA will be used as a pilot to test the example lectures on Adults and receive feedback. It will include 5 adults and 1 trainer per organization. The project as well includes 4 Multiplier events to increase targetted dissemination on the intended groups. The desired impact of the AdultMisinfo project is to initially:•increase awareness in the local community on the project’s field•promote through the toolkit (platform/website) and social media presence of the project and involve local media and press•encourage the involvement of policymakers, independent bodies for the address of the aforementioned issues and promote dialogue for exchange opportunities and challenges regarding social media misinformation and fake news in partnerships with adult organizations, training centers and other work sectors involved. In addition, the cooperation between partners from Greece, Cyprus, and Slovakia will lead to the development of qualifications and appropriate training methods for adult educators, the exchange of ideas, good practices, skills, and experiences. Each organization will contribute knowledge in specific topics and will gain new knowledge from each one partner organization. The skills and knowledge acquired by the core groups during the transnational activities will be used in future related projects both on a local and European basis. After the project's completion and through the actions of each partner organization utilizing their international network of associates, it is expected that this project's results will be finally disseminated on a European level. This way, it is expected to reach hundreds of adult stakeholders, and a far greater number of adult educators (trainers), thus indirectly benefiting European adults."

First prerequisite to ensure equal opportunities for both boys and girls is to ensure equal opportunities in education. Therefore gender equality in education has utmost importance to provide equal rights and opportunities for everyone regardless of gender. Education and training have a major importance in securing gender equality in society. Ensuring the gender equality in education is a necessary duty for all of us . The basic feature of the principle of gender mainstreaming has been defined by the EU as“The systematic consideration of the differences between the conditions, situations and needs of women and men in all Community policies and actions: this is the basic feature of the principle of “mainstreaming” which the Commission has adopted. The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe is convinced that the most effective way to promote gender equality is through education. This is why it adopted Recommendation CM/Rec (2007) 13 on gender mainstreaming in education, in 2007. This recommendation encourages the governments of member states to incorporate the gender perspective at all levels of the educational system - through legislation and in practice - so as to promote among young people the values of justice and participation necessary for the building of a society which guarantees true gender equality, both in the private and the public spheres. Gender equality in education, however, has many limitations and meets with various obstacles. These obstacles come from the cultural codes both in society and in schools. Even today there are limitations especially for girls for what they can do or can’t do as a woman beginning from the top of the system to the bottom. Gender issues must therefore be mainstreamed throughout educational planning – from infrastructure planning to material development to pedagogical processes. We believe that the full and equal engagement of women is crucial to ensuring a sustainable future. It appears that to achieve a holistic approach to gender equality also gender sensitive curriculum and education materials, teaching methods and techniques must be developed. Because of this, the main priority is to train teachers, for a better gender sensitive approach. Subject of the Project: To be able to develop and contribute to studies on Social Gender Equality by providing supportive tools through education. In this sense, the project first aims to raise awareness of the educators and then to the students and parents in their sphere of influence. Purpose of the Project: General purpose of the project, to contribute to the supporting of Social Gender Equality. Purpose of the Project: Purpose of this Project, To educate methodologically educators working in formal and non-formal education and to create training modules which support gender equality that educators can apply to their age groups. Objectives of the Project: •to create a network for trainers who will work on gender equality education and persons who have multiplier effect.•To train a large number of trainers by creating training packages for educators.•To raise awareness about Social Gender Equality•To raise awareness and disseminate Gender equality at formal and non-formal education.•to strengthen individuals in social life in preventing gender inequality•to strengthen families and multiplier effect by improving the skills and expertise of educators and people in formal and non-formal education•develop and implement educational approaches, activities and resources applicable to both formal and non-formal education •recognize and disseminate the values of the European Union to strengthen democratic participation through educationTarget Group of the Project: Educators / parents / Students

<< Background >>Today, knowledge accumulation is growing very rapidly and overflowing beyond the walls of the classroom. Within the education eco-system; developing analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills became an important goal in order to become a productive society. We all have a collective responsibility, more than ever, to support the development of today's young people from a holistic perspective for a sustainable economy and society and to prepare them for the 21st century skills-based system. There is a rising momentum all over the world to keep up with the technology revolution.Today's students will grow to pursue careers that do not yet exist. More than ever, it is necessary to prepare our students today so that they have the confidence to invent the world they want to live in. It is important to equip them with 21st century skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) (Self-awareness and management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, Responsible Decision Making). According to the article of the World Economic Forum titled “New Vision for Education:Promoting Social and Emotional Learning Through Technology”:“People who can cooperate, have high communication skills, can produce solutions to problems with rational methods will be able to exist in the business life of the future. This social and emotional competence equips students to succeed in the evolving digital economy.”Also,UNESCO recently sent a call to schools to implement SEL practices.By 2027, jobs requiring STEAM skills are expected to increase by 13%.EIGE's economic benefits of gender equality study (2017) show that reducing gender discrimination in STEAM education alone leads to 1.2 million additional jobs in the EU. In this context, our aim is to empower teachers, especially girls and secondary school students with multiple disadvantages, in STEAM and SEL areas and to motivate them to use their skills in a wider way.E-STEAMSEL is to give every student the opportunity to learn about technologies and to help them define themselves as innovators and changers who can take an active role in finding solutions to the problems they care about. In addition, to support them to be individuals who are sensitive to environmental problems and have an aesthetic point of view. It is now a necessity for our youth and girls to have STEAM and SEL learning skills in order to take part and struggle in the challenging business world of the future.STEAM mainly focuses on skill development in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. SEL provides life skills in the fields of teaching and developing the skills needed to manage great emotions, build relationships, gain self-awareness, solve problems, make responsible choices, and set goals. These two complement each other. The world of the future needs individuals with mathematics, science and technology literacy, self-actualized in social and affective learning, creative problem solving and aesthetic values. In this context, our project has adopted the STEAM and SEL fields as a whole and develop them at the transnational level with an e-learning Platform as itsmain objective is to prepare our students for the digital world of the future. The main aim of the project is to empower and increase the qualifications of school students and parents who have fewer opportunities. The project especially aims to support students in the fields of mathematics and science where they have the most difficulties and to strengthen their creative thinking skills with art classes. In addition, the project will produce materials to develop students' SEL skills. We aim to produce e-materials by using gamification (digital game) and problem-solving-based learning method and to empower our students in these areas. İn addition the project focuses on presenting the guidance service portal to our students and parents by moving it to the digital space too.<< Objectives >>OUR AIMS ARE TO;* Ensure creative and meaningful participation of girls and young generation with multiple disadvantages in STEAM and SEL education, preparing them for the future labor market* Raise and spread awareness and sensitivity among teachers, schools and parents in the field of STEAM and SEL learning* Ensure inclusion, equality and easy access in STEAM and SEL learning areas, and to raise the skills-based literacy of especially disadvantaged youth and girls to higher levels.* Provide digital content and digital-skills supported transformation in teaching and learning processes* Develop practical ideas of how to involve students into the learning activities and create environment in which students can study in an innovative way* Ensure equal access to project result for both gendersOUR GOALS ARE TO;* Develop a virtual platform as a resource center for practical and innovative learning solutions that complement the curriculum of schools;* Create a moddle-based e learning platform* Produce materials for three separate sections on the platform* Skill-based learning e materials (STEAM) (IO1)* Produce Social and Emotional Learning (IO2) activities*İnteractive Counseling Services for Parents And Students(I03)The idea of creating and implementing such a tool is the answer to the call for modernity, digitalization, computerization related to every aspect of life.TARGET GROUP;Young people (12-18) with disadvantagesTeachers / educators / school and parents working with 12-18 age groupDECISION MAKERS, Policy formulators, NGOs, youth workers and public<< Implementation >>Our project includes institutions from Portugal, Slovenia, Turkey, Italy and Romania under the coordination of Norway; and has created a network where universities, NGO’s and schools will work in cooperation. Our partnership has a strong structure to empower young people with multiple disadvantages (12-18 age) and especially girls in the field of STEAM and SEL learning, prepare them for the future business world; encourage and motivate schools and teachers to integrate the skills required by the labor market into the curriculum and to contribute to the digital transformation in the entire education sector. Our target group (12-18 years) consists of young people and girls with multiple disadvantages, the institutions responsible for their education, teachers and parents. Our partnership will create an e-platform to meet the needs of our target group. The e-platform will produce activities and E-materials in STEAM and SEL learning areas for target group students and teachers and make these materials available at local, national and transnational level.
