"Migrapreneurs is a consortium of 5 partners from the UK, France, Turkey & Spain, all committed to promoting entrepreneurship and employability skills and with a specific interest in supporting migrants in our communities and at a European level. Skills mismatch can contribute to unemployment and may reduce productivity and competitiveness. It appears in various forms such as skill shortages or gaps, but also applies to situations where the qualifications, knowledge and skills of an individual exceed the requirements of their job. ‘Vertical’ mismatch, commonly referred to as over-education, occurs when an individual is employed in a job, which requires a lower level of education. Migrant workers are more likely to experience over-qualification. With the worsening refugee and migrant crisis across Europe and linked negative media coverage, partners in Migrapreneurs came together in 2016 to begin work, which could contribute to overcoming this issue. The Migrapreneurs partnership believes that we, as an EC community, need to make sure that we make the most of migrants' skills and education and show the benefits they bring. Erasmus+ guidelines (2016) were updated to address issues around social cohesion and the integration of migrants. “Education and youth work are key to prevent violent radicalisation by promoting common European values, fostering social integration, enhancing intercultural understanding and a sense of belonging to a community.” Migrapreneurs aimed to contribute to this priority through the development of entrepreneurial and employability training and resources, which could help Europe to make the most of its highly skilled migrants and, as a result, enhance social inclusion and intercultural understanding. Migrants and people from ethnic minorities represent a considerable pool for entrepreneurship. The overall objective of Migrapreneurs was to better utilise the skills that highly skilled migrants bring into partner countries by fostering an entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial mindset within the target group. Through the project, we have provided an initial group of 152 migrants with the necessary skills and knowledge to improve their chances of finding employment that matches their skills and experiences or start a business instead. Through our other resources and sustainability work, we will continue to help that number grow. We have completed the following activities:1/ Reports (National and European) on the training needs of highly skilled migrants to develop entrepreneurial mindsets2/ Development of a Training Programme – “Entrepreneurial Journey for Highly Skilled Migrants”, including the delivery of the programme as pilots in the UK, France, Spain and Turkey with 152 participants. 3/ Development of a Training the Trainers Guide to accompany the “Entrepreneurial Journey for Highly Skilled Migrants” training programme4/ Development of a guide entitled, ""Transferring your Skills into Self-Employment: A Guide for Highly Skilled Migrants”.5/ Development of a Policy Guide entitled, “Developing Entrepreneurial and Intrapreneurial Mindsets: A Guide for Working with Highly Skilled Migrants”.6/ Development of an E-Learning Hub providing access to a wider range of resources developed by the project as well as links to wider sources of information and support. The project has been successful in working directly with the main target group of un/under-employed Highly Skilled Migrants (those with a degree level or above qualification), who have been supported through the project to develop their skills and knowledge in terms of entrepreneurship/employability. Migrapreneurs provided access to specifically tailored training for over 150 members of the target group, which has helped them to develop their skills and knowledge of entrepreneurship and employability skills through both soft and hard skills units that helped them to understand whether entrepreneurship was right for them and, if so, to develop a business plan. 91% of participants reported that they felt more confident in their entrepreneurial skills following the programme. 91% said they were either ‘very likely’ or ‘likely’ to develop their start-up because of the training. “The programme improved my negotiation, communication and problem-solving skills.” “The programme helped me be more creative and innovative.” “This program brought together an eclectic group of migrants and it was a real pleasure to see and experience the development of such diverse projects in addition to my own. Migrapreneurs taught me about business and diversity in a rich intercultural and fun way”All the materials and resources produced by the Migrapreneurs project (www.migrapreneurs.fr) are freely available online and will continue to be maintained after the project so both migrants themselves and those working to support them, can continue to access our tools and use them to help more individuals grow and develop."

Olive oil is the central component of the Mediterranean diet and the countries around the Mediterranean sea have the largest production of olive oil in the world. Οlive oil represents a big part of the exporting activity of these countries in the agricultural sector. However, there is a growing trend in the international market towards the organic products due to their health benefits and there is a growing need that the production from the part of the Mediterranean producers is able to match this need.Organic olive oil is a high quality product with high value compared to other types of olive oil and it is certified by the competent quality bodies in each Member State.Organic olive production is possible in various types of olive groves: - Organic Olive Groves (organic farming) - the first harvest can be certified.- Conventional or integrated management olive groves to be converted to organic – in the latter case a transitional period of three years must be applied. In this transitional period, all organic production rules must be met, although the final product (olives or olive oil) cannot be marketed as such. This is the most difficult period for the producer, which requires more support, both technically and economically. The above mentioned regulations highlight the need to support the training of production entities of organic olive oil, members of agricultural cooperatives and managers of companies working on the conversion of conventional oil production forms into production of olive oil through organic farming. Under Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 developing good agricultural practices for olive cultivation, based on environmental criteria adapted to local conditions, as well as disseminating those practices among olive growers and following up their practical application is very crucial. Specifically, the measures eligible for the Union funding provided for in Article 29(1) of Regulation (EU) No 1308/2013 focus on: “a) the area of market follow-up and management in the olive-oil and table-olives sector,b) in the area of improving the environmental impact of olive cultivation, c) in the area of improving the competitiveness of olive cultivation through modernization, d) in the area of improving the production quality of olive oil and table olives, e) in the area of traceability, certification and protection of the quality of olive oil and table olives by means of, in particular, quality control of the olive oils sold to end consumers. “This can be achieved through the training of individual farmers, members of Agricultural cooperative, executives of production companies and public and private sector consultants, and they in turn will train farmers in the following fields: - Preparation and management of the olive grove’s soil and the maintenance and improvement of soil fertility. - Organic fertilization of the olive grove.- Plant protection of the olive grove. Measures of protection against pests and diseases. - Harvest and transport techniques. - The production of olive oil with natural methods at a suitable temperature without the use of chemical solvents. - The packaging, maintenance and transportation of organic olive oil. - The labeling of organic olive oil.- Exporting Organic Olive Oil- Local varieties- Health benefits and support policies in Turkey and the EUThe trainings are realized through the use of e-learning and m-learning (access through smart phones) and addressed to members and managers of agricultural cooperatives and companies in order to enable them to guide farmers in the production and certification of organic olive oil. The blended learning material produced in 4 languages (English, Turkish, Italian and Greek) can also be downloaded as pdf or html and used as a reference Guide Book. The accomplishment of the project’s objectives will contribute to the improvement of the olive oil production in the participating countries and the enhancement of farmers’ income as the selling price of organic olive oil is much higher than the price of conventional olive oil. This will also lead to the local and regional development of the oil producing regions.

"The project “Multidimensional training of adult volunteers to foster migrants' integration” (MAV) was strongly committed to achieve ""take-up and effective outreach"" of the targeted migrants: the conceptual orientation of the project was based on integration to be promoted through involvement of migrant volunteers acting as mentors of other migrants. ""Guidance and motivation strategies"" were conceived as relevant objetives in order to achieve integration in a smooth but immediately effective manner, to stimulate the migrant volunteers to become propagators of the awareness, soft skills and comptences lernt within their wider migrants' communities. The method choosen strategically combined integrated learning package traditional approaches with innovative motivation and guidance tools, to ensure the migrants volunteers' interest, hence the propagation of the benefits of the MAV adult learning via these migrant volunteers to other migrants. This enables the project to offer direct peer-to-peer mentoring. In this way, MAV contributed to enhance the achievement of migrants integration and produced products for sustainable use in mainstream-service provision. The main approach of MAV was to focuse on volunteers who serve as ""mentors"" for other migrants (including refugees, third country national and non native in general) in order to better guide them into participation in their host societies, into the European labor market, help them to identify and improve their skills and competences and to continue to build upon competences they might have had in their countries of origin.MAV created a learning tool kit for adult volunteers (especially adult migrants in volunteering) to better self-train and qualify volunteers to manage for ""their migrants"" the transition process between ""arriving as migrants"" up to being integrated. Training is available on the MAV online platform. In particular, the project was implemented in seven project countries (Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, United Kingdom, Cyprus and Turkey) by seven expert entities sharing different but complementary focus areas, which carried out learning interventions for volunteers to promote their engagement in becoming mentors and facilitators of other migrants as further users of the ""lesson lernt"". Within its conceptual orientation, MAV integrated relevant considerations in the field in a comprehensive and multidimensional approach, and achieve the following results:(1) MAV created 1) The MAV guide for trainers, 2) The MAV adult learners' toolkit, 3) The MAV adult training course and 4) The MAV Communication Toolkit. The guide for trainers, the adult trainings courses and the communication toolkit are available in all partner languages (EN, DE, EL, IT, RO, TR), whereas the adult learners toolkit is available in EN and DE,(2) During the project appr. 540 key players in the project countries were involved in the project implementation, in MAV conferences and appr. 280 stakeholders ettendes multiplier events,(3) 70 experts and professionals working with volunteering as groups of experts were consulted,(4) 140 migrants were involved in piloting of outcomes and courses,(5) appr. 4.000 users have been visiting and using the MAV online platform(6) institutions and organisation in England, Germany, Italy, Greece and Romania will continue to use MAV products in their mainstream service provisions for migrants and refugees."
