"BreizhEuskadi is a two-year-long project between IES LAUAIZETA BHI and L.P.O. Pierre MENDES FRANCE. Lauaizeta is a Compulsory Secondary Education school with ""D"" linguistic model, that is education through the medium of Basque Language whose priority is to promote Basque language, culture and identity. It is an inclusive school that avoids discrimination for cultural/economic reasons. Pierre Mendes is a High School that also provides Vocational Training and they are trying to create boundaries between both Education Systems. Although Breton culture is not as vivid as the Basque one on a regular basis, they are taking steps to recover it and they have started teaching Breton language in Primary Education. The main objective is to compare both minority languages and Historic Heritage in order to:- help Basque students value the steps taken to recover our language, culture and identity at a difficult age when they rebel against any established matters,- promote among Bretons a need to recover their roots and to consider their culture as their identity and value it as they should. All upper-Secondary students will take part (14-16 year olds) and those in Seconde and first year of Vocational Trainning (15-17 year olds). About 200 students in each school will use eTwinning platform to get acquainted to one another, communicate, find out, share, cooperate and collaborate. 14 students will have the opportunity to travel. They will have some extra activities (before, during and after mobilities):- collect data, find out and record videos,- collaborate in activities to find a host,- edit videos and report the experience to all school members. There are lots of activities to be able to reach our goals. We are speaking about motivating activities with an innovative approach. Thus, students will collaborate to create television programmes to find out about different aspects of minority languages through correspondants abroad, share their Historic Heritage in such programmes as ""Basques/Bretons in the world"", cook and try traditional dishes in the partner country in ""Telemasterchef"", enjoy mithology in Broceliande woods and Baztan valley, learn unkown traditional dances, old sports (Astérix and Obélix will meet Basque stone lifting), old musical instruments...During the first year, we will stick to the minority language and our near environment. We will take part in several events in favour of the Basque Language (Korrika, Euskaraldia) and in favour of Breton Culture (Sevenadur, Redadeg) and we will visit the Breton museum. We will discover places in our surroundings through literature. In the second year, we will cover all the region; from the oldest mithology to modern art with Chillida or Guggeheim museum, Street Art or Contemporart Art in Rennes. Literature will continue to help us discover new sceneries. We will share everything in Twinspace and will use all tools in the platform to communicate as well as other social networks. Each student will have his/her profile and we will use Pages to organize content.Students will develop creativity and critical thinking, interiorize communicative strategies, improve personal relationships through cooperation and collaboration, improve self-steem by using rubrics for self-evaluation, conflict solving, enterpreneurship, they will learn to be and to learn. Motivation and the use of TICs will improve.Teachers will improve their interpersonal relationships through the implemention of interdisciplinary and international activities. They will think over their practice to ellaborate rubrics and questionnaires.Relationships with families will take a step forward. All this work will lead us to an in-depth analysis about the different aspects of the project. The most successful activities will be identified and incorporated into the subject syllabuses. We hope to continue our collaboration with the partner in eTwinning projects which will enable us to improve the most succesful activities and invite members from other cultures, knowing that we count on a reliable partner to ensure that the project will meet its goal."
