The Consortium will develop a set of digital tools to improve the design, optimise the manufacturing process and ease the implementation of circularity strategies (remanufacturing, refurbishing, repairing and recycling) by the additive manufacturing industry. To support those tools, we will develop a novel AI-assisted algorithm able to calculate both the ecological and economic impacts of a process to assess its sustainability. This AI-assisted algorithm will rely on experimental data, from process monitoring and part characterisations, and process simulation, covering pre-processing machining, additive manufacturing and post-processing machining. We will integrate these tools into a first platform, called DIAgonal, to facilitate the uptake by the industry. The platform will integrate the European Digital Product Passport by enabling the use of supplier data for more accurate ecological impact estimations and allowing the upload of experimental data to enrich product transparency on origin, materials, and recyclability. We will develop a second platform, DIAdemia, to support the upskilling of the workforce through interactive training courses, workshops, and exercises. Overall, DIAMETER will contribute to reducing the manufacturing sector's carbon footprint, enhancing recycling, developing a greener Industry 4.0 and promoting local production.

Thus, in cases where vocational education cannot be done face to face, an innovative method will be developed with this project to increase students' participation and learning motivation during distance teaching. As a result of the synchronized online vocational education model to be developed with the project, students will make learning permanent by performing less practical applications in the workshop environment. Therefore, practical training time will be shortened, less energy and material will be consumed. Companies involved in the project will be able to use the method to be developed effectively in their training and remote repair maintenance processes. Consequently, the technical and digital skills of the vocational students will be able to improve in crisis times. The digital qualifications of the vocational teachers will be developed during the project activities. A report outlining guidelines to encourage effective digital training methods, including examples of good practices, recommendations, guidelines, and an AR training model developed. A range of training modules will be produced, giving generic digital learning advice and guidance through to the development of technical skills to create digital content suitable for use with immersive technologies. This piece of work will also include the delivery of training. Digital content will be created to help innovate the delivery of curriculum for training in operating CNC machines. This will make delivery of that curriculum more innovative and in the on-going pandemic situation, will act as an exemplar that could be used for similar developments in other curriculum areas. The project will develop a framework for organizing the assessment of digital learning environments in a standardized way in vocational education (VET), to fit scenarios where traditional face-to-face exams. A final output end of the project will be an example of teaching material for AR-based digital education platforms, including digital training content, application videos, AR applications, and online assessment tools. The project will expect to develop: - Improving the quality of vocational education using AR technology - Enhancing the learning motivation and interaction of students, - Promoting career development through intercultural learning - Increasing the participants' motivation to learn - Developing the foreign language skills of the participants - Development of cooperation between universities, industrial organizations, and vocational education institutions in the European dimension. - Development of digital teaching materials based on AR technology within international education standards.

Innovative aspect of the language teaching programme in question is the formation of foreign language curriculum and course materials for specific purposes for German, French and Turkish for the first time in Turkey. The project is also the first example of its kind in terms of teaching Turkish as sector specific vocational foreign language for EU countries where German and French are spoken. The project is also first for German, French and Turkish engineers and engineer candidates who are the target group of the project. The aim of the project is to develop target group’s intercultural skills and know-how and increase their foreign language learning abilities at A1, A2, B1 and B2 levels in addition to improving their communicative language competences appropriate for multinational companies they could work in the future. Content of the above-mentioned project, methodology and data to be gathered overlap with basic characteristics of SSA programme. The project will carry out certain activities to fulfill the objectives as in the following: • Forming special-purpose technical vocational foreign language curriculum (German, French, Turkish) compatible with Common European Framework of Reference,• Preparing student’s book, teacher’s book and workbook (German, French, Turkish),• Creating online course materials appropriate for curriculum,• Designing website in 4 languages (German, French, English and Turkish),• Conducting pilot studies,• Forming language programme for special-purpose technical vocational foreign language certificate• Forming special-purpose technical vocational foreign language certificate for Turkish Language• Integrating the curriculum into Gazi Univ.
