    DataverseNL is organising a networking event where data professionals come together to discuss how to improve Research Data Management at the various institutes. The event will consist of two plenary presentations and two rounds of interactive workshops, focusing on the future of the RDM landscape in general and the position of DataverseNL in particular. How can we improve RDM to better accommodate the role of data management in scientific communication? The networking event will serve as input for agenda-setting for further development of DataverseNL services and the DataverseNL community.

  • Reusing data: Bridging the distance between data consumers and producers

    Open science initiatives have increased the amount of (openly) available research data. This data is often shared with the idea that data will be reused, although reuse is far from being guaranteed. We aim to broaden the scope of open data efforts from focusing on developing data supplies to fostering data reuse. Our workshop will bring together various stakeholders to examine and brainstorm key questions related to barriers and drivers for reusing data, including issues related to motivation and incentives.

    Deze aanvraag behelst de realisatie van het Leids Digital Competence Centre (LDCC) voor de Universiteit Leiden. Het LDCC is een virtuele samenwerking tussen de centrale eenheden binnen de universiteit die een ondersteunende rol vervullen op het gebied van onderzoeksgegevens (data, software en ICT). Daarnaast worden er binnen het LDCC netwerken opgebouwd en onderhouden met centrale (generieke) en decentrale (domeingebonden) datastewards, research software engineers en ICT experts. Het LDCC biedt ondersteuning aan alle faculteiten en instituten van de Universiteit Leiden. (Dit is niet selecteerbaar in de sectie Disciplines in ISAAC.)

    This project proposal concerns the strengthening of support for good data management (data stewardship) and research software engineering within Leiden University. The reinforcement will be integrated into the Leiden Digital Competence Center (LDCC), the collaboration within the university where all stakeholders involved in supporting research data (i.e., data, software and associated ICT) work together in a structural manner. The proposal addresses some bottlenecks and vulnerabilities in the present support within the university.
