The COVID-19 crisis that has paralyzed European society has immediately confirmed the need and benefits of distance and online learning solutions in a context of restricted access to workplace, schools and training centers. This extreme situation has shown the potential that ICT has in order to allow the continuation of education processes in force majeure cases and also the importance it has for learners with limited mobility or access to attendance training. According to E&T Monitor report in 2019, adult participation in training activities has registered very slow progression (from 9.5% in 2008 to 11.1% in 2018) with strong disparities between age groups of learners and Member States. In line with the European Agenda for Adult learning, the project ambition is to increase adult attendance to training activities by providing flexible learning opportunities that also allow the promotion of equity, diversity and social inclusion in the labor market. On the other hand, the content of the MIRAGAMO education modules has a particular focus on social inclusion and diversity management topics. The project idea was also developed within the context of persisting lack of equal opportunities in most EU countries’ labor markets and the continuing resistance of many employers to efficiently implement diversity and inclusion (D&I) measures within their organizations. A recent study shows that only 25% of the Spanish companies comply with the legal measures to guarantee equal opportunities for women and men at the workplace. Furthermore, a recent PWC survey shows that for 39% of the requested European organizations, diversity represents a barrier for employee progression and only 19% of the D&I training is dedicated to embedding inclusive behaviors at the workplace. According to Eurostat data, women continue being underrepresented on the labour market with a gender employment gap at 11.7% in 2019. According to the EC study “Woman in the digital age”, the share of men working in the ICT sector is 313% greater than the share of women who represent only 21,5% of the workers in digital jobs. The inequality of opportunity can affect the inequality of income and leads many economies to underestimate and lose labor force potential that could be engaged for the overall European economic and social growth. Based on findings of EIGE study, the persisting male stereotypes and networking culture, corporate, social and cultural norms are the main factors often creating internal barriers for women’s career development in the sector, also known as the glass ceiling effect. Therefore, the MIRAGAMO project has the ambition to propose an innovative training method applied to a digital format that helps to break gender stereotypes and stimulates behavioral changes leading to a more equal labour market. The project consortium relies on the combined expertise in terms of social work, digital training and business theater of the three partners from Bulgaria, Spain and Belgium and on the support of several associated partners form adult training, career guidance and business support sectors. Using an innovative combination of business theatre method, gaming method and digital learning, the project will propose educational solutions with a very strong and sustainable emotional impact on the learners and indirectly on the society in general.<< Objectives >>The main objectives of this project are to encourage adult participation in training activities and to raise awareness on diversity and inclusion (D&I) challenges by providing high-quality ICT based micro-learning formats adopting an innovative approach that combines traditional learning content with a social learning experience. To do so, the MIRAGAMO partnership will work on the development, validation and dissemination of an innovative training method applied to a digital format that helps to break gender stereotypes and stimulates behavioural changes leading to a more equal labour market. The project aims at building capacity in the partnering organizations for further development and exploitation of the created project outputs so that they can autonomously produce additional education content using the MIRAGAMO method after the end of the project in order to increase the effectiveness of the adult learning practices in their countries and improve the level of participation.By implementing the MIRAGAMO project, partners aim at providing educational content dedicated to social inclusion topics that will stimulate behavioural changes leading to a more equal and inclusive labour market. A positive impact is expected in terms of improved levels of social and labour inclusion at the workplace, a higher level of participation in adult training and learning activities, improved awareness about D&I topics, improved skills of adult trainers, higher attractiveness and efficiency of the adult training sector and tools. Within one year after the end of the project, partners expect that the MIRAGAMO approach will be adopted by at least 45 public and private organizations around Europe and it will become the basis for at least 20 new training initiatives by individual adult trainers.<< Implementation >>During the project 15 adult training specialists will participate in an international 3 days training workshop that will allow partners to exchange know-how and to build capacity for further development of MIRAGAMO modules beyond the project scope and lifetime. 180 adult training professionals’, social workers, sector policy representatives, SME owners and managers, and adult learners, will take part in 3 multiplier Events in Sofia, Barcelona, and Namur and at least 120 specialists will participate in a total of 6 project info days at national level in partner countries. During the project, partners will implement the following concrete activities:• Activities related to the reparation of results:R1: MIRAGAMO methodology implementation framework and guidelines.R2: MIRAGAMO Script and content preparation.R3: Technical development of MIRAGAMO modules.• Communication and Dissemination activities:- 6 info days at a national level- 3 Multiplier events:E1: Practical demonstration on how to use MIRAGAMO for recruitment and labour integration needs.E2: Practical demonstration on how to use MIRAGAMO for addressing D&I topics with SME owners and managing staff.E3: Practical demonstration on how to use MIRAGAMO for addressing D&I topics with employees.• Learning and training activity for staff members:C1: Workshop for scriptwriters and trainers.<< Results >>MIRAGAMO project expects to provide sustainable results leading to short-term and long-term impact in terms of improved quality and efficiency of European adult training services, higher levels of adult participation in training and learning activities and improved labour integration, social environment and gender equality at the workplace. The main TANGIBLE RESULTS that partners will prepare during the project lifetime are:- MIRAGAMO Methodology implementation framework: a detailed description of the 5 MIRAGAMO components in 4 languages with supporting recommendations, guidelines and good practices examples for their use and further development in adult education and training activities; main principles under which business theatre should be implemented in digital formats (R1);- Adapted training tool to the needs of European adult trainers and learners for distance education (R1, R2, R3);- 60 video scripts on 3 topics (R2);- 80 MIRAGAMO content sheets containing 20 Concept Synthesis Notes, 20 Knowledge/skills Validation Quiz, 20 Practice Challenges, 20 Resources and recommendations, all of them in Spanish, French, Bulgarian and English versions. Each of those elements could be used separately (R2).INTANGIBLE RESULTS: - Improved knowledge and skills of adult trainers and teachers in terms of D&I topics;- Reduced effect of male labour stereotypes; improved gender equality, better opportunities for women professional development;- Improved social inclusion in European public and private organizations, increased employees’ well-being and jobs sustainability;- Increased use of digital tools for adult training purposes;- Improved levels of compliance with D&I legal frameworks;- Better internal capacity of partners in delivering digital training.
