    EMERALDSs vision is to design, develop and create an urban data-oriented Mobility Analytics as a Service (MAaaS) toolset, consisting of the so-called emeralds services, compiled in a proof-of-concept prototype, capable of exploiting the untapped potential of extreme urban mobility data. The toolset will enable the stakeholders of the urban mobility ecosystem to collect and manage ubiquitous spatio-temporal data of high-volume, high-velocity and of high-variety, analyse them both in online and offline settings, import them to real-time responsive AI/ML algorithms and visualize results in interactive dashboards, whilst implementing privacy preservation techniques at all data modalities and at all levels of its architecture. The toolset will offer advanced capabilities in data mining (searching and processing) of large amounts and varieties of urban mobility data and its efficiency will be assessed, validated and demonstrated in three TRL5 pilot use cases (by following a co-development approach with mobility and city stakeholders to improve decision making in urban smart city environments), and deployed/showcased in two early adopters data-driven TRL6 applications (by integrating the new services to existing systems to improve commercial offerings).

    5GMed5GMediaHUB aims to help EU to achieve the goal of becoming a world leader in 5G, by accelerating the testing and validation of innovative 5G-empowered media applications and NetApps from 3rd party experimenters and NetApps developers, through an open, integrated and fully featured Experimentation Facility. This will significantly reduce not only the service creation lifecycle but also the time to market barrier, thus providing such actors that are primarily from SMEs, with a competitive advantage against their rivals outside EU. In particular, 5GMediaHUB will build and operate an elastic, secure and trusted multi-tenant service execution and NetApps development environment based on an open cloud-based architecture and APIs, by developing and integrating a testing and validation system with two existing well-established 5G testbeds (by CTTC and Telenor) for enabling the fast prototyping, testing and validation of novel 5G services and NetApps. 5GMediaHUB will offer: (i) a DevOps environment for Testing as a Service; (ii) a rich set of Experimentation Tools that offer scheduling, validation, verification, analytics and QoS/QoE monitoring mechanisms; (iii) A set of re-usable vertical-specific and vertical-agnostic NetApps with easy to use APIs that can be consumed by application developers, reducing the complexity and risk of integrations and operations; (iv) a re-usable open-source NetApps Repository; (v) an umbrella cross-domain service orchestrator to deliver cross-domain orchestration of NetApps; (vi) an innovative security framework offering software defined perimeter protection and isolation of NetApps; (vii) incremental validation capabilities of the Experimental Facility evidenced through 3 novel media use cases with 2 scenarios each, over 3GPP R.16 and R.17 5G testbed releases. Our 17-partner consortium (9 SMEs) from 9 countries has extremely rich 5G-PPP experience, since 13 partners have participated in previous 5G-PPP projects and in several 5G-PPP WGs.

    RIDE2RAIL aims to integrate multiple (public/private/social) data sets and sources and existing transport platforms to promote an effective Ride Sharing practice of citizens, making it a complementary transport mode that extends public transport and rail networks. The RIDE2RAIL framework for intelligent mobility will integrate and harmonise real-time and diverse information about rail, public transport, ride-sharing and crowdsourcing in a social ecosystem, which will allow users to compare and choose between multiple options/services classified by a set of criteria – including environmental impact, travel time, comfort, cost – according to their preferences; this will make the travel experience both more positive for individual users, and globally more sustainable. This framework, consisting in a combined suite of travel offer classifications and software components, will be natively integrated into existing collective and on-demand transport services, connecting and reinforcing mobility offers, especially in rural and low-demand areas, in order to promote the access to high-capacity services (rail, bus and other public transport services), thanks to easy-to-use multimodal and integrated travel planning, booking and payment features. RIDE2RAIL will design, develop and test in real demonstrators a set of software components for the IP4 ecosystem, including advanced Travel Companion features and a crowd-based Transport Service Provider, which will foster the combination of flexible and regular multimodal mobility through an easy personalisation in diverse existing environments, thus facilitating the market uptake. RIDE2RAIL will deliver a set of validated proof of concepts and business cases envisaging future mobility scenarios, where advanced transport solutions will be seamlessly integrated into existing collective transport services (rail and others) in four (4) diverse cities in Europe: Padua, Athens, Brno and Helsinki.

    Current European refineries and civil infrastructures, like tunnels and bridges, are ageing, and therefore gradually become deteriorated, especially taking into consideration the current and future economic situation in Europe where large investments in renewing infrastructures are not foreseen. Then, it is paramount important to increase the efficiency and quality of inspection and maintenance activities in order to keep the necessary safety levels in these ageing infrastructures. To overcome this important challenge, PILOTING proposes the adaptation, integration, and demonstration of robotic solutions, in an integrated platform, which will be tested and evaluated in three large-scale pilots: refineries (Oil&Gas sector), bridges/viaducts and tunnels (Civil/Transport Infrastructure sector) with the involvement of all the actors that conform the full value chain. The developed platform will: demonstrate the application of robotics at scale in the domain of Inspection and Maintenance (I&M), reduce end-user commercial risks on the deployment of robotics in the sector, demonstrate capabilities and improve understanding of robotics uptake value, develop and support the related ecosystem around the piloting I&M operations, as well as, contribute to industrial standards in robotics for I&M. To achieve the above, PILOTING will develop an advanced robotic-based platform that will be deployed in the three industrial scenarios and demonstrate the real value towards the inspection and maintenance community as well as its high level socio-economic impact when applied at scale. PILOTING will establish large-scale pilots in real industrial environments to directly reply to main I&M challenges through the demonstration of: increasing rate of inspection and maintenance tasks, improving coverage and performance, decreasing costs and time of operations, improving inspection quality and increasing safety of operators.

    CHORUS aims to tackle the complexities associated with road safety and efficiency in the transportation system by providing a unified, multi-actor orchestration framework within the Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) ecosystem. This innovative project leverages the benefits of CCAM technologies while ensuring alignment with EU directives and standards, particularly those focused on sustainability and safety. The initiative will deliver cutting-edge solutions through a multi-layer architectural framework that will be deployed across seven demonstration sites, each selected to reflect diverse urban mobility challenges and opportunities.CHORUS will focus on several key objectives to enhance urban mobility systems. First, it will work to seamlessly integrate diverse transport modes of transportation of people and goods under the co-existence of AVs and conventional vehicles, including public transportation, cycling, and ridesharing services, fostering an efficient, safe, and accessible urban mobility environment. Second, the project will enable data-driven, AI-enabled traffic management systems that allow for active data exchange in a secure and collaborative environment, supporting real-time decision-making for traffic management and AVs operation, and reducing traffic inefficiencies. Third, CHORUS will enhance the user experience through personalized travel recommendations and real-time updates, empowering users to make informed transportation choices. Furthermore, the project aims to promote innovation by encouraging collaboration between public and private sectors at both governance and operational levels, driving technological advancements within the CCAM landscape. Lastly, CHORUS will assist cities in effectively reducing traffic congestion and its associated costs while improving overall mobility efficiency, thereby contributing to European sustainability and climate goals.
