In a nutshell, by taking part in an online game (on their computer or mobile phone) based on real life cases of application of open teaching approaches (where they will have to make choices on how to act and they will immediately appreciate the impact of these choices), university teachers will learn how to apply open approach (in terms of learning design, content, pedagogies and assessment) in their daily teaching. The OPENGAME project will work towards three specific objectives:1.Foster awareness of HE educators to adopt OEP in their daily teaching, by mainstreaming successful “educators-centred” practices;2.Increase motivation of HE educators towards adopting OEP by providing attractive and motivating testing environments as a gamified experience;3.Develop capacity of HE educators to work with open approaches, through an engaging gamified learning experience on OEP.In two years of intensive work, the project will produce the following results:●A collection of successful open teaching practices (in the form of an handbook) on the use of approaches such as OER, MOOCs, open textbooks, open design, open badges, complemented by a competencies framework containing the knowledge, skills and attitudes that European university educators need to master to work with Open Educational Practices; ●The design, curriculum and content (OER) of an open gamified and situated course on Open Educational Practices (a transversal module for educators of any discipline, corresponding to 30h of work);●An interactive online learning game, available both for desktop and mobile devices, aimed to train university teachers through a selection of open tools and approaches that they can then immediately integrate in their daily teaching work, that will be piloted among 300 educators from six universities;●An open accreditation scheme that will make sure that all teachers participating in the course are properly rewarded, through Open Badges and - when possible - through official accreditation (ECTS);●A transferability toolkit aimed at promoting the use and implementation of the online game in other universities in the five project countries (ES, FR, DE, PT, IE) as well as transversally in Europe, engaging a minimum of 900 teachers from 30 universities;●Five National Outreach Workshops (in Madrid, Nantes, Lisbon, Karlsruhe and Dublin), where the educators who have obtained the best performance in the online game will be invited to promote the project results and to discuss with external stakeholders how to replicate the project experience in other institutions, and an International Conference in Spain (in Salamanca) to present the project results and its future sustainability strategy. In order to reach maximum use and impact in all the five countries of the project, the course content, as well as the online game, will be made available in five languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese). The project consortium consists of six universities from five EU countries, representing a rather balanced coverage of Europe: the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja and the Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), the Université de Nantes (France), the Universidade Aberta (Portugal), the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (Germany) and the Dublin City University (Ireland). Partners were selected both for their competencies and their experiences in the fields of open education, game-based learning design and open accreditation and certification. The consortium is completed by two important networks (as associated partners): the Open Education Consortium and the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE).

SPMSP is going to address current economic issues and problems on EU level, while involving research, administrative organizations and practitioners to reach a common understanding and to deliver blueprints for international and transdisciplinary approaches to modern higher education on MSP. SPMSP develops a common European education agenda exemplified for the Atlantic, Baltic Sea and North Sea Regions, while promoting transnational cooperation of experts in research and practice to overcome isolated individual schemes on current MSP training and higher education. Existing structures will be modernised and improved, while SPMSP simultaneously fosters synergies between education, administration and stakeholders. Improvement of curricula, exchange of knowledge and experts, and transparency and recognition of learning outcomes to reach higher qualifications in MSP are key in implementing this topic into the education landscape properly.Five partner organization from four European countries joint to strengthen the implementation of MSP which is driven by European policies. The University of Oldenburg (D, lead partner), the University of Liverpool (U.K.), the University of Nantes (F), the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research (D) and the University of Applied Science Breda (NL) consitute the partnership. Furthermore, three international organizations, the Marine Spatial Planning Research Network, the Baltic inter-governmental VASAB and the pan-Nordic Nordregio will be involved in the partnership as associated organisations deeply rooted in the MSP practice.Various activities on intellectual outputs, multiplier events and lecturing will be carried out by all participating organizations. First, a MSP Arena will be developed. The Arena is an online platform for students, practitioners and lecturers for the exchange of information, data, documents, courses, projects and further offers that can be used, discussed and shared. Subsequently, a generic educational course module ‘Foundations of MSP’ will be developed and implemented at various universities. It aims towards the transnational and practical understanding of the governance and spatial planning of the marine environment. It will be composed of lectures, seminars and virtual colloquiums and optional joint excursions. Multiplier event sessions will be held to communicate and to widespread the SPMSP activities with representatives of other universities and institutions. Lastly, different teaching and training activities, as intensive programmes (i.e., also introducing the MSP Challenge serious gaming approach as core of a course unit), transnational research programmes (e.g. collaborative Bachelor / Master thesis), and a MSP Road Show for joint excursions and the short term mobilities for guest lecturer will complete the agenda. Annual project management meetings will assure coherence in project planning and implementation.SPMSP is to deliver new transnational learning strategies, develop new skills, exchange knowledge, simplify the access to information and add know-how to the rising topic of MSP driven by current EU policies. Outcomes of the project will have long lasting effects at and particularly after project lifetime.

Yet, it is recognized that the transition to a green economy will induce significant changes in the job market. The goal of GREENCAP is to address the question of HEI adaptation to such job market evolution towards green jobs. It, therefore, aims to develop student’s employability in the field of green business, through the exchange of good practices between 3 EU universities and 4 Cambodian partner universities. The key factor of success for this project lies in the multi-stakeholder cooperation. To this end, GREENCAP set up forums and events aiming at creating space for a dialogue between Cambodian stakeholders concerned with those topics – Universities, the wider economic society (enterprises, NGO, cities…), and ministry. These spaces for dialogue will be held at three levels. First, at the National level, it will come through the implementation of a professional committee and the organization of an annual green conference involving various stakeholders. It gives the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences in the field of green business which will facilitate to formulate recommendations for teaching, research and partnership opportunities. Second, at the local level, GREENCAP aims to improve green job market matching opportunity with the organization job fairs, career centers, and the creation of digital jobs/internships platform. Third, at the institutional level, the outcomes of upper level will help to develop green business modules into HEI curricula. Staffs from the EU will also provide support to partner staff, through trainings, for greening the curriculum putting special focus on learning and teaching tools, methodologies and pedagogical.

It aims to improve the quality of doctoral programs and to increase the research capacity of Khmer Higher Education Institutions (HEI). The key factor of success for this project lies in the scientific multi-disciplinary cooperation on a few specific topics. Along with the booming economy and increased seaborne traffic, the economic consequences of Climate Change and environmental concerns are becoming major issues for the country. Consequently, there is a need for more academic research in these fields. A national network on Environmental and Maritime research (EMR) and an on-line platform of data sharing will be created in this respect. During the second and third year of the project, a summer school will be organized. Students from EU and Cambodia will be offered opportunities to attend various courses taught by international and local professors. The basic principle is to stimulate, organize and exploit all forms of cooperation in research between the participants. DOCKSIDE supports MoEYS in the reform of higher education and restructuring actions for high-standard research. Improving and managing efficiently higher education are the main pillars of this reform. Experts and professors from EU will provide Khmer HEIs with recommendations for syllabus development, innovative research methodologies, e-learning and administrative efficiency of HEIs. Cambodian staff members will learn from the good practices experienced in European institutions. DOCKSIDE will also empower Khmer students through research internships in European universities. EU students will also be involved in the international mobility program by attending the thematic summer schools and participate in traineeships. These two-way exchange opportunities will allow project partners to establish a variety of contacts for future joint-master and PhD programs.
