<< Background >>The current situation in educational institutions in Eurozone is influenced by the evolving digital technologies to which the institutions need to adapt to. Therefore, digital transformation through the development of digital readiness, resilience, and capacity is an important topic nowadays.Digitalization in the workplace rapidly changes job requirements, today’s vocational education and training (VET) teachers need to equip their students not just with vocational skills but also with strong digital and soft skills. These skills are crucial in every workplace and essential for the use of technology. Innovations and digital transformation are highly needed in vocational education and training. Those factors are also directly connected to the quality of an educational institution. The competent and motivated teachers/trainers in combination with innovative and high-quality educational institutions is a key to the success of the whole society. To become high quality, innovative, continuously improving, learning organization it is essential to learn from each other and learn from the best (benchmarking/benchlearning). Continuous improvement requires a clear commitment to learning.Smart educational organizations are Learning organizations, where people are constantly developing and improving in the excellence culture of the organization. The organization itself is evolving continuously, understanding the strong and week areas and learning from others and the best. Suppose the benchmarking (learning from each other) is performed under a certain framework, which gives much better results and broadens the diverse opportunities for benchmarking to other sectors.Nowadays, VET institutions are struggling with the process of learning from each other, and there is not existing a solid framework that connects excellent educational organization principles with teachers/trainers development concept and learner/student-centred approach. Institutions find it difficult to search for benchmarking/benchlearning opportunities, and there does not exist such a comprehensive framework giving a base for learning from each other. Our project's main aim is to combine those methodologies into one holistic framework and develop a benchmarking base for learning and sharing.KNOWLO project aims to build a more modern, dynamic, committed, and professional environment inside the educational organizations, where people have greater understanding and responsiveness to all kinds of diversity, e.g., social, ethnic, linguistic, gender, improve their digital and professional competencies, and as a result, increased motivation and satisfaction in daily work.KNOWLO system is building the future of Learning organization by: 1.Providing the methodological framework of the smart organizations 2.Providing the self-evaluation tool (on a personal/organizational level) to evaluate the learning organization potential and the personal competence in this field3.Providing systematic guideline on how to benchmark, learn and share with others out of the original organization (on a local/ European level)4.Proceeding with this systematic learning and sharing in the online environment as well as in the real one5.Allowing being a part of the vast benchmarking database and comparing with others6.Giving opportunity to learn from the catalogue of best practices, tools and materials collectedAs a result, we expect that our holistic approach will impact Quality teaching, Quality tools, methods, and materials for innovative teaching and learning, and Quality environments for teaching and learning. The trainers and teachers will have a chance to see the new aspects of the educational organizations and to learn and share with others.
