“Yes,We KENya!” contributes to foster cooperation between Europe and Kenya and to promote activities aiming to enhance the quality and recognition of youth work while improving participants' level of competences, to favour their active participation in the society and to provide a response to social challenges. It aims to create a pool of trainers/multipliers able to act as promoters of Non-Formal Education, active citizenship and European democratic values in different contexts. Considering young people as strategic players in the future of society, the purpose of “Yes,WeKENya!” is creating a sustainable cooperation between Africa and Europe in the youth field through activities that will train kenyan, italian and spanish young people. It will also give the chance to young trainers previously trained by AICEM to challenge themselves, multiplying the work previously done and put into practice what learned in “Nio Far-We Are Together”, a project developed by AICEM in 2018 in a welcoming centre in Sardinia and in the area of Casamance (Senegal), of which “Yes, We KENya” represents the follow up. So partner organizations by identifying common needs behind the differences related to their own contexts and related trigger factors, have individuated the necessity to implement a project that could allow young people to be empowered through the acquisition of competences and tools in order to develop effective actions aiming at the promotion NFE tool within their communities. It will facilitate active participation of youth in policy making, raising their awareness about non-formal education as an important tool to fight lack of youth initiative and to provide participative processes. The creation of a pool of trainers, the availability of open sources materials, the network constructed and the creation of a toolkit will make the results durable and sustainable.

The project aims to empower young women with transversal competences which favour their personal and professional growth, enhancing their possibility to contribute to the development of the society. To favour this process, partners have identified a path to create and test an educational programme based on NFE methodology that foresees 3 main phases. The project has 6 main activities as described separately below:1) Kick-off Meeting / APV: A meeting to formally start the project. It is an opportunity for all project team members to meet and get to know each other well. 2)Training of youth workers : This activity is a capacity building for youth workers on entrepreneurship skills and gender issues to stimulate their creativity and critical thinking and prototyping the content of the educational app.3) Local initiatives :During this phase, the participants will concretely transform what they learn into practices by using competences acquired. Participants, singularly or in team, have to propose an initiative to disseminate/multiply the content of the TC in 2 different ways: 1) realizing an activity of education based on the educational programme on the prototype of the app with girls and young women of their community; 2) start a new action for his/her personal development in one of the three areas: private, professional or civic. 4) Evaluation meeting : The main aim of the meeting is to conduct an evaluation made of two main steps:In the first part will be done an internal evaluation of the local initiatives implemented. The second part will be dedicated to use all the feedback to finalize the educational programme and prepare all the input to terminate the online app.5) Final event ( conference ): The event will be a conference which will involve different stakeholders such as representatives of the formal education system (universities, schools), local authorities, representatives of third sector organizations, representatives of enterprises. Quality youth projects (from idea to implementation) bring sustainability of youth work, raise capacities and motivation of youth workers, contribute to the recognition of youth work, bring better impact to young people and society, keep young people motivated and engaged, raises quality of learning and involvement through youth work, raises civic and democratic engagement and brings reputation to youth organisation and youth field in general. That is why we focus on importance of building capacities of youth workers to develop, prepare, apply and implement youth projects on high quality level. Responding to the relevant and realistic needs and challenges further brings the next level of problems that youth organisation found themselves in – solutions and ideas became vague, not innovative and limited. Building up on that, we have realised that for the innovative solutions, quality projects, sustainability of the youth programmes and stronger impact of our work, one of the main thing lacking in the youth sector is the strategic networking, establishing quality and meaningful national and especially international cooperation in the youth field among the youth organisations, but also with the youth authorities, decision and policy makers, institutions working with and for young people and even business sector. This synergy is crucial for success of the youth work and highly contributes to its recognition and validation. The aim of this project is to improve the quality of youth projects, foster the innovative approaches to project-based youth work and encourage quality structured networking and cooperation in youth work field.Specific Objective 1:To enhance socio-professional development and international cooperation of youth workers by strengthening their capacities in the field of project writing and project management and empower innovations in finding solutions and developing ideas.Specific Objective 2: To increase quality and strategic approach to cooperation and networking between youth We plan to achieve these aim and objectives through set of capacity building and mobility activities:1. Online partner meeting2. Training courses on using design thinking methodology for solution-based project ideas, project writing and project management for youth workers and on networking, quality cooperation in youth field and successful cross-sectoral cooperation3. Study visits between partners on quality of project management, implementation and cooperation with local authorities/youth institutions/other stakeholders4. MOOC and video tutorials on complete youth project writing5. Follow up practice activities of participants6.
