Upcycling 4 Youth is a project aiming to empower the young people by training them how to use upcycling as a method for gaining self-confidence and sense of usefulness (use the newly gained techniques to create upcycled art and useful items and take part in initiatives for environmental protection and improvement) leading them to become active citizens in their community. At the same time we want to introduce and promote social entrepreneurship and green businesses among young people as a productive and creative way of finding employment or becoming self-employed. Our target group are youth aged 16-18 learning in high schools as well as youth aged 20-25 that are unemployed graduated young people willing to learn creative techniques to become self-employed. Part of them are youth with fewer opportunities facing geographical or economic obstacles. One of the specific priorities of the strategic partnerships in the field of education, training and youth, with accent on youth, is promoting empowerment, participation and the active citizenship of young people. With this project we have created strategies and methods for effective empowerment and motivation of the young people to start environmental creative initiatives, to express their opinion, be active citizens and influence on the local and regional decision makers for making healthy living environment. Working together with our partners and shareholders, we will have created effective and interactive training curricula for the young people.Willing to boost a wider-territory research on the existing upcycling techniques and experiences, applicable for starting-up a green job that include upcycling, it is necessary to work on transnational level. Involved young people have learnt how to use old and recycled items and turn them in useful furniture, art or indoor and outdoor decoration items. We have selected 8 young people from Macedonia and 5 from London, UK , falling in our target group age, to participate in the blended mobility in London, UK in the period 09-14 March 2020. Upon completing the youth mobility, they have been involved in online peer to peer learning, experiences sharing and raising awareness on the upcycling as approach for improving the environment and create economic benefits. For assuring better dissemination, to reach and include large number of young people, visually demonstrate the effects and possibilities of the upcycling, we have created project website (www.upcycling4youth.eu), project FB page and YouTube channel, we have organised 7 info days, 5 local upcycling workshops, 1 workshop for youth activism and have participated in many local and national activities for providing better visibility of the project. During the project implementation we have created the following intellectual outcomes: 1. Training on upcycling techniques and youth activism, composed of 6 modules with multiple lessons and video materials/tutorials 2. Let's upcycle - interactive web-platform for e-learning, creativity and experiences sharing Regarding the participating organisations and individuals in the project, there has been shown increased capacity, professionalism and quality in the preparation and implementation of EU and international projects, international collaboration, competences for creation of professional and effective curricula and training programs. The impact on the young people and relevant stakeholders has been created by raising their awareness regarding environmental issues, including the damage of the constant creation of illegal dumping grounds, change their way of thinking and acting, more active participation in the society, increased sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, especially interest for green and social entrepreneurship. Resulting in better living standard, creation of employment and lower youth unemployment rate.

<< Background >>As it is known, the rapid deterioration of ecology has been on the agenda of the whole world for a long time. Everyone is looking for a remedy as to what solutions to find to fix this. At this point, renewable energy is indispensable for the consumption society we live in. Since this consumption process, society constantly consumes and also harms the environment more than utility with its production. If we continue in this way we will not survive in such a course and we will disappear in the near future. We need to protect our sources without consuming more than we need for future generations and without jeopardizing the competencies. These resources are solar heating and cooling, wind energy, bioenergy types with renewed technology and solar cells. Renewable energy sources also play the most important role in meeting thecontinuity and need. As for the EU commision report, it enables the EU to meet at least 32% of its total energy requirements with renewable energy by 2030, building on previous success, such as the achievement of the EU's 20% renewables goal by 2020. Also, National Energy Climate Plan's common target is to provide that the entity of the national contributions as given in the final NECPs complements to at least the level of the set EU targets (32% for renewables; 32.5% for energy efficiency) by 2030. Therefore, with this project; specifically the resources we are going to focus on; * Wind energy refers to the kinetic energy of the wind that is transformed to electricity in wind turbines. * Solar energy is divided into two types: solar thermal energy (radiation used to generate heat) and solar photovoltaic energy (used togenerate electricity). * Strong biofuels, biogas, and liquid biofuels are all examples of biofuels. Biomass is renewable, non-fossil biological material (plants and animals) used as a raw material for biofuel production. Other issues are; Water consumption: Make awareness to water consumption, how much they use or waste. Also, find ways to preserve it. Paper consumption: Make awareness to paper consumption, where and when we use it in our daily lives, how do we use it or waste it unneccessarily. Finding solutions for unnecessary paper consumption. Crued oils: Make awareness to crued oil consumption, we use them in everday of our lives as raw materials which is produced by oil. We will focus on where we use it, how can we replace it, what will happen to environment when we throw away. Create ideas and find solutions torecycle it.Applicant country is Slovakia, partners are Turkey KADER NGO, Romania University, Macedonia NGO, Turkey Innovative Green Steps NGO and Macedonia Municipilaty. The project target groups outside partnership are adults aged 18-50, NGOs, local communities who deal with environment and renewable energy, business, municipilaties, schools, decison makers and universities. Within partnership our target groups are adults aged 18-50, university staff and municipality. We will have 5 LTTAs, 6 online TPMs, 1 Multiplier Event and 1 production result RE-Toolkit. We strongly beleive that these groups can reach wider communities at local/national and international level to make awareness for renewable energy sources and source consumptions for better and safe world.<< Objectives >>The project will give us a great chance to make awareness on renewable energy and unnecessary consumptions of sources. * we intend to make awareness on renewable energy for safe world to wider community. *we need to analyse what other European countries carry out to struggle with this issue. *create innovative ideas and exchange good samples within partnership at international level. *to create possible solutions in the frame of ''United Nation's 2030 agenda, adopted in 2015, for Sustainable Development'' to achieve a world which is better, more safe and more respectful to the sources they have. * to stimulate employment in the EU, by means of the creation of jobs in new ‘green’ technologies. * to rise awareness regarding the environmental issues as; climate change, pollution, unnecessary consumption sources, global warming and deforestation. * to develop a sustainable and resource-efficient community. * to emphasize the use of renewable energy in order to raise limited non-renewable resources. * to increase awareness on what resources are insufficient, which resources are about to be depleted in the near future. * to create a common base of understanding to change the habits of the society in consumption of sources. * to serve EU commisions frameworks for renewable energy, energy efficiency, research and innovation. * to make measurable, achievable, realistic and time-related goals for renewable energy. * to gain green skills and making awareness to new'green' technologies for future employment. * to gain EU value, visibility of adult education at local, national and international level. * to gain upgrade skills as team-work, design thinking, digital literacy, creativity, adaptability, resilience, and even empathy, research and innovation. * to create our production result e guidebook and Re-Toolkit to make awareness on renewable energy sources. * to create solutions and innovative ideas for renewable energy and unnecessary source consumption.<< Implementation >>The project will be carried out in three phases as; Activity 1-Rethink: The participants will get information about resources, their usage, What is meant by renewable energy and unnecessary consumption; Activity 2- React: The participants will be given tasks (as indoor and outdoor tasks) to create innovative ideas, find solutions to the issues, using sources in a moderate and sensible way; Activity 3- Rejoice: The participants will rehape their understanding towards sources and renewable energy for better and safe world.
