    Mr.Goodfish3.0 builds on an existing application developed with stakeholder input from the seafood value chain to promote sustainable seafood consumption. It aims to upgrade and employ the app within an EU-wide awareness campaign. The app will be part of an ecosystem of tools and activities to be co-created by stakeholders in three pilot sites and upscaled in two replication sites in Europe to raise awareness for responsible consumption of sea, freshwater and aquaculture products. Co-creation will inform content development, enriching scientific input with socio-cultural and economic considerations and engaging stakeholders throughout the seafood value chain. The upgraded app will offer outputs such as individualised decision trees, information about health benefits, tips and tricks to fight food waste, recipes, and good practices. It will be available in all EU official languages, and it will take into account all major EU sea basins and inland waters. The awareness campaign will involve social and traditional media, a package of material and activities, and a call for multipliers with a local focus via our pilot and replication sites, as well as EU-wide dissemination activities. The campaign will relate to other European initiatives such as #TasteTheOcea and it will engage adults and the youth via educational activities for promoting the app as a guiding light for consumption behaviour change. The existing labelling process will be upscaled to display European providers of sustainable seafood and support the sustainability of the business model of Mr.Goodfish3.0. Consortium partners display a mix of science centres/aquariums and communicators, research institutions, and European-wide organizations. Their expertise and networks in terms of scientific input and content development, co-creation processes, app development, design and implementation of outreach campaigns and science engagement will be fully exploited to promote sustainable seafood consumption.

    The use of different and optimally combined transport modes in a seamless way is one of the key challenges to achieve greater sustainability in smart cities transport systems. Each mode of transport has its own advantages and satisfies different mobility purposes and needs. The core of new electrified microvehicle concept is to combine design and user needs for an easier usage within traditional transportation modes (e.g. public transport) in both urban and suburban areas. The project aims at finalizing and testing a safer and modular electric kick scooter (e-KS) for personal urban and suburban mobility. It presents 2 main innovation levels: on the vehicle side with the development of new features in term of modularity, foldability and improved safety; on the systemic side, the consortium will study and present (a) new business model(s) for a win-win situation for all stakeholders. The consortium relies on the extensive experience of consortium partners, on key learnings of on-going projects (e.g. H2020 STARS, CIVITAS Eccentric, IMOVE, STEVE, EU-LIVE), main partner core business (Bumpair for safety, Elaphe & Domel for in-wheel motor and motor controls) and on the inputs from an Advisory Group within the project that will involve representatives from mobility managers, local and city administrators and standardization and certification bodies. Once users’ needs have been identified and analysed, DREEM aims to test a 3-wheel electric kick scooter in three (3) different pilot cases. Dissemination of key mobility patterns and best practices will be part of the project. While starting with vehicle design and vehicle architecture, the proposal will also explore the feasibility of innovative business models and circular economy.

    One of the principal challenges to reaching targets of the Energy Transition (ET) is to improve the coordination between local authorities and regional governments with the aim to enhance decision-making process, coherence and consistency of the implementation of energy transition measures (ETM). ePLANET will meet this challenge by encouraging the digitalization of measures and plans enabling an interoperable ecosystem of data and tools supporting energy transition decision making, putting it into practice by the public sector. ePLANET builds on an existing infrastructure enabling massive data gathering, making the data and measures comparable and interoperable with existing local initiatives (CoM, Clean Energy for EU Islands Initiative) and regional/national plans, analysing this data and offering relevant results to key stakeholders. This will enhance decision-making -more informed, more transparent and faster decisions-, contributing to improved monitoring and verification schemes. Enabling harmonisation of plans and interoperability across the local and regional authorities to joint application of ETM favouring more efficient use of public spending. ePLANET is a three-year project that will develop a proof of concept over three regional pilots (Girona, Crete and Zlín regions) during the first half of the project, to ensure the correct deployment of developed tools and to fit the real needs of public authorities in the energy transition. The rest of the project will focus on extending and implementing the ePLANET tools and methodology across Europe. To ensure new regions and local authorities’ engagement, the project will leverage existing initiatives (CoM and ManagEnergy) in which the project partners have strong influence (ICLEI and FED in particular).

    CLEVER aims to overcome barriers by developing new harmonised GHG emission factors for transport sector (freight & passenger), encompassing uncovered categories, new and conventional fuels and production paths while taking up the full energy lifecycle (Well-To-Wheel/Wake), and providing clearer guides for calculating and accounting emission factors, covering GHG emissions (CO2eq) of the entire transport chain in all modes. CLEVER Framework ensures consistent calculation of new energy carriers, remaining effective as the industry evolves, and emission calculation method for accurate, quantified and accounted emissions, ensuring policy and business relevance. CLEVER applies multi-actor approach, engaging global stakeholders through a co-design, co-creation and co-assessment process. CLEVER reviews existing emission factors derived from global sources, aligned with scientific advances and gaps identification. The Framework is a concise guide, created upon recommended input parameters, fuel/energy specifications and assumptions. It ensures a) understanding and proper application of consequential and attributional methods, b) clear boundaries calculation to avoid biases, aligning data labels and values for consistent emission factors; and c) document how fuel-based emission factors feed into default emission intensities, considering operational parameters and integration in databases. The Framework contains a) new harmonised GHG emission factors; b) common rules for calculating climate impact and c) decision tree based on these rules. This guide helps stakeholders making informed GHG emissions calculations and mitigates conflicting approaches. The Framework undergoes validation in different industrial uses through personalised coaching. For enhancing market uptake regulatory engagement, certification, standardization (ISO14083 review) and training are planned. Greater consistency and reliability of GHG calculation leads to transport decarbonization supporting EU goals.

    The ONEPlanET project aims to develop a common nexus modelling framework to simulate and evaluate pathways to define a more sustainable future in Africa through the deployment of renewable energy infrastructure. In this way, it will be possible to stimulate a green energy transition in the continent as well as a decarbonization of existing energy plants. The ONEPlanET model will be tailored to the needs of different stakeholders and end-users (public and private actors, policy and decision-makers, experts, and citizens) and will be totally open source to stimulate its future upgrades. The model will include information on Water, Energy, Food (WEF) and interlinkages with other sectors as Economy, Ecosystems, Society, Climate and Land for delivering a multi-sectoral assessment consistent with socio-economic and climate scenarios. The ONEPlanET modelling approach will integrate Earth Observation data (e.g., Copernicus, ESA or GEOSS), statistical data and information from basins to national and regional, via three representative case studies in the Songwe (Malawi/Tanzania), Inkomati-Usuthu (South Africa) and Niger (Nigeria) river basins, which show different types of basins and socio-ecological systems. ONEPlanET will help to better understand the interactions between Nexus sectors to deliver sound technical and policy recommendations towards the implementation of energy infrastructure to build a more climate neutral and resilient society.
