The COVID 19 crisis led to lockdown of entire communities for months, closed schools and excluded pupils from attending classes. This triggered a need for educational institutions and teachers to quickly develop alternative forms of teaching. A key tool in the efforts to continue education became online-based education. The crisis ended up being a gigantic laboratory for testing the technical capacity, readiness and competence of educational institutions to offer online education on a large scale in a long period and the teachers' readiness for, and competencies in developing and designing educational material and courses as online teaching. The schools were not ready. The teaching many pupils and students were offered for weeks and months was of doubtful quality. It was difficult to maintain both the level of learning and the motivation among learners - and teachers. This was also the case for the partners behind this application consisting of four partners: A Danish youth education provider in the VET sector offering programs to pupils at the age of 15 and 16 based on the national curriculum for 10th class at primary school, a Danish private primary school, a Slovenian primary school and an Icelandic Municipality. It became obvious that online based teaching SHOULD NOT BE that teachers• simply upload and give students access to the material they had prepared for class-based and face-to-face teaching• communicate this material with the same methods and approaches they used in ordinary classroom settings. The target group of the project are teachers, their pupils and their educational leaders and the aim is :- Development, implementation and transfer of innovative practices, joint initiatives for collaboration, learning and developing digital technology in education. - Professionalization and professional development in education. Developing teachers’, learners and educational leaders’ digital skills to enhance the quality of virtual learning activities in education.-Strategic and professional use of ICT methodologies and virtual collaboration. In the implementation of our project, we will benefit from the findings in the research of teachers from two partner organisation: Their master thesis researched the understanding and use of digital technologies as a part of collaboration in teams, and how to design didactics and principals for hybrid forms of professional learning communities. (Leschly, Kjelgaard & Veiergang, 2020: Didactic design principles for hybrid professional learning communities - When digital technologies expand teachers' teamwork, 2020.) Drawing on research gained from the period of COVID19, questions of interest were: How do teachers understand and use digital technologies as a part of their collaboration in teams and how can these findings be the foundation for development of new didactical design principals for hybrid forms of professional learning communities. The 4 IOs:1.Contextual clarification and establishment of online collaboration space for stakeholders. Methodology Guidelines. Establishing an online community for partners and other stakeholders. Survey and comparative analysis on partner schools. 2.Developing and designing common curricula with regard to enhancing the competences of teachers to work in hybrid learning communities. Courses and learning material.3.Train the Trainers. Development of remediated and innovative digitally designed material4.Testing, adjusting, and refining the developed remediated and innovative digitally designed material. Development of HLC GuideParticipatory approaches involving teachers, pupils, leaders and ICT staff will be the methodology in developing tailored and attractive training activities and materials. A common professional online learning community using a common ICT-platform/program for the partners’ cross-cooperation will be designed and will increase the partners’ capacity to cooperate, communicate and share knowledge effectively during the project. Designing of basic local templates for each partner to establish a professional online learning community inside each organization will constitutes virtual learning environments in each of the participating organizations allowing us to develop and complete common learning activities for digital competencies across organizations. Doing this increases the level of virtual participation on each of the partnering schools and makes a better foundation for evaluating and understanding the effects of the project activities across organizations. The long-term benefits of the project will be Hybrid Learning Communities(HLC) at local schools some of them connected to larger transnational HLCs with a big potential for cooperation with schools cross borders and across pedagogical/didactical traditions.Teacher more competent in developing remediated and innovative digitally designed material. Better learning outcomes and more motivation among pupils.

Dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among older people worldwide. One of the main problems in long-term care services is the lack of knowledge of professionals and direct care staff on symptoms of dementia, changes at the physiological, cognitive and behavioral levels and interventions in activities of daily living. There are different VET programmes for care staff, however, stakeholders think that learning content about dementia is not enough considered in the training curriculums of the European Countries at EQF level 4. The European strategy for the prevention of dementia has pointed out that the situation of dementia requires great efforts in national VET systems to provide caregivers with a global overview of dementia in order to face day-to-day problems (with orientation, communication, etc.) and to break taboos of the topic of dementia. In the same way, it would be important to improve professional knowledge and skills on dementia in the community healthcare services of the European countries (Alzheimer Europe, 2019).In this sense, the Danish Dementia Research Centre (DDRC) has developed a set of open educational resources (the app “Videns on Demens” and the e-learning platform “ABC dementia care”) addressed to basic care staff and professionals in long-term care services. The app is a widely used observation tool for caregivers available in Danish language and is considered as a successful experience since in 2016 it was used 52,550 times (user sessions) and had 15,575 users. In 2017 they considered managing about 26,000 online users in the platform ABC dementia-care.With this in mind, AppForDementia project partners have agreed on to create a set of open educational and multilingual resources on dementia, based on the Danish experience, with the purpose of implementing these resources in the national VET programmes for apprentices and professional caregivers in long-term care services. The specific objectives of the project are the following:• To define a methodological framework for transferring the Danish open educational resources to participant countries.•To propose an international training curriculum about “Symptoms and interventions for people with dementia” at EQF level 4 described in terms of training units and learning outcomes.•To develop a set of learning contents and training materials on symptoms and interventions for people with dementia. •To create and test a multilingual educational APP addressed to care staff, trainers, students, and professionals of the care sector.•To create and test a multilingual e-learning course on Dementia symptoms addressed to trainers, care-staff, and professionals. The project considers about 25 associated organizations in the different activities of the project. The target group is estimated about 10.000 people. The direct target groups of the activities of this project are the following: • Caregivers, basic care staff, nurses, and professionals in the long-term care services • Trainers and teachers in care educations • Students at care educations • Decision makers in the field of education However, relatives of people with dementia will also benefit from the project results and the final beneficent is the person suffering from dementia. The results of the Project are the following:-A methodological framework for OERS, based on a training curriculum about “Symptoms and interventions for people with dementia” at EQF level 4.- International seminar, multiplier events and workshops for developing open educational resources.- An educational app and an open e-learning course for care staff, trainers and students in the care sector. The most important expected impact is the improvement of the capacity and competencies of caregivers and the competencies of teachers/trainers/educators to be able to take care of and reply professionally to the specific and particular needs of people affected by Dementia. As a consequence, the app and the other results of this project could increase the quality of life for people with dementia and help to prevent abuse and neglect of the elderly. The consortium of the project is formed by an NGO managing a group of nursing homes in several Spanish regions (MENSAJEROS, ES); a vocational training centre in Denmark (SOSU OSTJYLLAND, DK); a NGO in the social sector in Italy (ANCIANI E NON SOLO, IT); an association for elderly care sector in Romania (HABILITAS ASSOCIATIA, RO).

"The 2 year project BePreSeL(Better Preparation for Senior Life) ended the 30th of september 2019. The project was based on a danish initiative due to a cooperation between SOSU Østjylland and AOF Skanderborg Odder and they were joint by Universita`delle LiberEta`del Fvg from Italy, Uniwercytet Jagiellonski (3rd Age Univercity) from Krakow Poland and Ljudska Univerza Ptuj. SOSU Østjylland is a vocational school in the area of social and health, especially edcuating students for senior care and health promotion among elderly. All other partners are characterized by offering different kind of courses and sparetime activities to public and particularly to senior citisens. The background for the BePreSel project was part a previous EU project named Peer to Peer focusing on voluntering Elderly and an increasing awareness that elderly don`t seem be benefit, when it comes to health status practising the concept of ""Active Ageing"". More and more elderly are more and more active during senior years, but it does not reduce their demand for nursery and care later in life as it was expected back in the 1980ths when the Concept Active Ageing become policy and was implemented in the first european countries. Documented latest in a Danish report summing up the results of more than 40 years of investments building up faciliteis to perform and awareness to perform the Active Ageing concept. The approach in the BePreSeL project was more or less, that the reason that seniors and societies can`t see any huge effect of practicing the Active Ageing Concept, is caused by a misunderstanding among seniors and their surroundings what it means ""to be active"". 1st challenge is very basic that to many believe, that being active - that the activity in it self maintain health and physical competences. The second challenge was and still are, that senior citisens don`t have a knowledge based understanding and approach to their own ageing process. To many seniors (and their surroundings) still have an understanding and approach to the ageing process based on myth, wrong assumptions and a long cultural history and experience, telling and showing that being older is to become weaker and loose once independency.During the 2 years project period, the partnership developed a course of 12 to 16 lessons, presenting and explaining 8 key physical areas and competences, which according to the Danish National Health Board is the key areas and competences to focus on if we want to understand why much to many seniors, much to soon and totally unnessecarily slides slowly into dependency - lossing their selfgovernance and independent way of living. As a part of the couse the senior participants were offered to be tested to know the present status according to these 8 physical parametres.A Senior health Curriculum and all the beloning educational material + teacher guidelines was developed and adapted to the expereinces performing the content during the course. This material are now acceible at www.bepresel.dkMore than 100 seniors signed for and participated in the 8 test courses offered and conducted during feb to june in 2019, by different methodologies(models) of the different partners. The participants evaluation showed in any way, that there is a huge need for proper scientific based knowledge about the ageing process about the ageing period. More than 9 out of 10 expressed among many positive feed backs that the have learned a lot, that they very surprised about the fact that there is so much knowledge about ageing and the ageing process. It was also recognised among the partners, that even there is a big lack of knowledge among seniors about the ageing process, and that it will be a challenge to convince and motivate seniors for this kind of courses - and mostly the seniors who might be in the biggest need for a Better Preparation for Senior Life. As a contribution to overcome this challenge there is developed a document named STRATEGY - Launching educational programs to promote A BEtter PREparation for SEnior Life. reach out A key aspect of the project was to release the Peer to Peer effect. Our approach was to use senior educators and if it was needed to educate and train volunteering seniors. As basis for this preparation of seniors to become teachers at this senior health course, the partnership developed a Senior Pedagogical Curriculum. To point out the rationale behind and all the perspectives of preparing our seniors and future senior better for senior life, a brief presentation and description of the idea, all the beloning educational material, are presented in the CONCEPT of BEPRESEL aiming distribution to relevant stake holders and further on by stakeholders. All the outputs 1;The Strategy.2; The Senior Health Curriculum and belonging material.3; The Senior Pedagogical Curriculum and finally the output 5; The BEPRESEL Concept are accessible at the final project out put 4; The BEPRESEL PLATFORM at www.bepresel.eu"
