Vocational professions have to be in line with technological and digital progress in industry and economy, which requires modernization of VET through using innovative methods and pedagogic approaches. This includes adaptation of school curricula to the requirements of labor market, education of teachers and educators for the transfer of knowledge and new technologies skills, use of modern technologies and ICT in school laboratories and practicums, and education based both on theoretical learning and on practical knowledge. Precisely because of these needs, the 3D FOR VET project was nominated and approved as the best. GENERAL OBJECTIVE of the project is to put students from technical vocational high schools in better position in the labor market through using 3D technologies in formal education, applying their knowledge in practice and working together with their peers from other EU countries. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES of the project: 1. Use of modern technologies in technical vocational high schools in order to improve the educational capacities of schools, 2. Increasing the competitiveness of students through acquiring knowledge on 3D technologies, based on practical work in workshops and exchange of practice with their peers, 3. Promotion of use of modern technologies based on experiences in regions affected by the project and dissemination of project results to other schools. PARTICIPANTS in the project are the students and teachers from VET schools participating in the project and 2 partner Regional authorities. Total number of students participating in granted activities is 160, and total number of teachers is 24.STUDENTS need to gain skills and qualifications, which will make them employable right after they finish high school education. To be able to learn about 3D technologies before they finish the school, the school practicums have to be well equipped for them to learn to use modern technologies and to be able to apply them in real working situations.TEACHERS have to be up-to-date with new technologies and well prepared to transfer knowledge to their students. This implies constant education about the technological progress, and about methodologies and tools that are used in contemporary enterprises and industries.REGIONAL AUTHORITIES participating in this project have different background and experience in VET, so the purpose of this project is to compare the practices of the use of modern technologies in VET and to encourage the Regional authorities to be more active in the modernization of VET, basing on the examples of good practice. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES: Within the project, 2 Intellectual outputs were produced: 1. Handbook for performing practical workshops on the 3D printer 2. Case studies on the system of use of modern technologies in vocational schools in 4 countries For the promotion of outputs and project activities and results, Multiplier events ""3D Technology Open Day"" in the Region of Istria has been be organized. The 3D equipment was purchased for the implementation of the workshops on modern 3D technology carried out by the teachers and students within the schools partners in the project. 3 Joint Staff Training Events - 3D VET Teacher workshops were implemented for the teachers to gain knowledge about 3D technology they will be able to transfer to their students working together on common projects. 2 Blended mobilities of learners were implemented and hosted by 2 partner schools. The project activities were performed according to the enclosed timetable, agreed by all partners. All the partners were involved in the design of the activities during the project implementation, and therefore they were flexible and adaptable to new needs and objectives that were emerge during the project’s deployment. The EXPECTED PROJECT RESULTS were: - Modernization of Technical VET schools and use of modern equipment in the work with students, - Students educated about 3D technology and able to use it in practical work, which makes them competitive on the labor market. - Regional authorities familiar with the modernization needs of VET and lead the active policy of introduction of modern technologies in VET. The project, as a whole, has a great potential of IMPACT both considering the number of people involved - teachers and students in the partner schools, regional representatives, and the scientists and professionals being eligible for all the project products, could benefit of them and contribute to the dissemination - and the consistency. The Intellectual outputs will be free and available to the potential users after the project ends."
