"To achieve the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, the UN recognizes a strategic role to education and training, with a view to Lifelong Learning. There are two dimensions in which the Educational Institutions, generically defined, are called to participate. The first is related to their institutional mandate, that is to achieve the goals described in Goal 4: ""Provide a quality education, fair and inclusive, and learning opportunities for all"". The second is inherent in the strategic role that the Institutions plays in shaping competent and responsible new generations that contribute to sustainable development. In this scenario, the Strategic Partnership for Adult Education named ""FACIT: Fostering Active CITizenship competences"" intends to raise the standard educational approach to an upper level, by promoting interdisciplinarity as the key for Active Citizenship learning/educational opportunities, through the acquisition of specific competences coming from different sectors, from Ecology to Economy, from ICT to Participatory Democracy and Social Cohesion. The project activities are scheduled in order to achieve the project objectives: FACIT will directly affect the educators/trainers/facilitators/staff members from the 5 partner organizations from IT, FR, PT and HE, working with Neets, Unemployed adults, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, adults facing geographical and economic disadvantages. Their involvement in every project's step will allow them to acquire new competences in the designing of innovative educational approaches to enrich Active Citizenship competences of their adult learners. After FACIT completion, the staff members will have learned how to integrate Economic, Digital, Ecologic, EU and Global Citizenships in the designing of any educational path (in any sector). This will be possible thanks to a structured work program with tailor-made activities. Beside the 3 International Meetings for coordination and management of FACIT, other specific activities are planned.1/ In the first step, by taking part to 5 Study Visits, the partners will exchange best practices on educational approaches in 5 diverse sectors, which could improve learners' Active Citizenship competences: Economy e Business start up (Kainotomia, Economic Citizenship), EU Participation (FPD, European Citizenship), Human Rights Education (Integra Onlus, Global Citizenship), ICT (E-Juniors, Digital Citizenship), Ecology and Environment protection (Geoclube, Ecological Citizenship);2/ The second step will concern the designing of a new methodological approach, adoptable in every context and sector, which will take into account all the 5 declinations of Active Citizenship previously experienced. Thanks to this new approach, in every Training course or educational path, it will be possible to ensure the full acquisition of Active Citizenship competences, regardless of the sector and the specific topic of each activity. E.g., it will be possible to educate adults to environment protection, by also introducing them to the economic impact of pollution, to the rights and duties of being EU Citizens, to the existing tools to have a say at EU level and to the necessary digital competences to use them online. In order to reach this results, one educator/teacher/facilitator per partner will be involved in a 2 months Training Assignment on Active Citizenship, to be held during summer 2021 in Portugal, when Geoclube usually hosts a Summer Camp for young adults, with the topic of Active Citizenship. The 4 foreign trainers (from FPD, Kainotomia, Integra Onlus and E-Juniors) will work together with the Geoclube's trainers; each of them will lead a training session in his/her own sector, focusing on the learning achievements in terms of Active Citizenship competences.3/ After the Training Assignments, all the partners will co-design the final draft of the methodology, which will be adopted, by each of them, at the local community contexts. The results of this practical experimentation, which will involve a total of about 150 EU learners, will be collected and discussed by the partners and they will lead to the final version of the ""FACIT TOOLKIT"", to be released and freely downloadable, among all, from the main Adult education platforms (EPALE, E+ Results Platform, SALTO)."

Sustainable growth - for a resource efficient, greener and more competitive economy is one of the pillars of EU2020 strategy. Following this challenge, major initiatives in the field of environment and climate protection, green purchase, circular economy, short circuits, the economy of the common good, and sustainable development goals of UNESCO are being developed all over Europe. Also, there is a growing willingness in society to give sense to the economic activity, that should be oriented toward the social benefice and wellbeing. SUSTRAINY has as main objective to foster sustainable initiatives undertaken by youth, providing them with comprehensive tools which will help them in the implementation of sustainable projects. Those tools are:-Sustainability guidelines, a complete didactic manual explaining what the main concepts are to be mastered regarding sustainable management-A diagnostic tool focused on sustainable competences evaluation, which will give youth a perspective of their existing knowledge.-A panorama of sustainable best practices, which will show examples of successful initiatives and intends to be a source of inspiration offering youth concrete solutions to sustainable challenges. Thanks to those tools, partners will help youth to get a better knowledge of their level of competences and encourage them in the acquisition of further competences in the field of sustainable business / project or initiatives, aligned to the EU objectives of sustainable growth. Also, youth assessors will get access to new tools to develop their activity in a qualitative way. In order to reach the project objectives, 5 partners from 4 European Countries: France, Poland, Spain and Italy, will form a strategic partnership bringing together different profiles and complementary expertise to develop a full set of activities relying on youth social entrepreneurship. Indeed, SUSTRAINY addresses any youth willing to undertake initiatives, especially those facing special challenges of insertion on the labour market, without any discrimination, and with a willingness to develop social and sustainable projects. By extension, this project will also target entities working with youth and offering youth support. These defined target groups will be involved directly all along the project during different activities, learning from the project tools and participating to their piloting, improvement and validation. In addition to the main outputs expected from this project (guidelines, diagnostic tool and panorama of best practices), a learning activity will take place in Matera and will bring together 20 participants during 5 days to work on the development of 10 sustainable projects ideas, using the different tools created. SUSTRAINY will rely on participative methodology, engaging the target groups all along the project implementation, with different events to be organised. It will also be focused on the development of tailor-made solutions, based on each one individuality and diversity, enabling different pathways adapted to the special needs identified for each one. A strong focus is given on transnational activities, being in line with an international scenario for smart growth and sustainable entrepreneurship within intercultural diversity. The project will use ICT as catalyst for the project activities impact, and all materials will be disseminated in electronic format. The main result of the project will be the creation of the guidelines, the diagnostic, the panorama and the self-assessment tool, that are expected to have a direct impact on both target groups: the young entrepreneurs and youth support organisations. They are expected to increase their awareness on social enterprise and initiative, and implement new projects in accordance with those principles that will impact positively the society on many and diverse aspects, such as social integration, environment, workers well-being, food safety, democracy, etc. At long term, SUSTRAINY has the ambition to have developed a transferable set of entrepreneurs´ support tools that could be replicated in other territories, fostering youth empowerment and business models innovation oriented toward social benefice and sustainable growth.

"<< Background >>When thinking about future perspectives for the Cultural and Creative Sector (CCS) beyond the COVID-19 crisis, a return to the ‘old normal’ is not considered a viable option. Given the vulnerabilities that characterised the sectors already pre-COVID-19, the crisis has provided a unique momentum to re-think dominant structures and practices and to experiment with possible alternatives, often in intra- and inter-sectoral collaboration. We apply for “Paint the Bit” project mainly because it grasps at an early stage some critical aspects of the arts and culture sector, exacerbated by the global pandemic. According to the Research of CULT Committee (2021), the main consequences that the COVID-19 containment measures have generated for the CCS can be clustered under two main groups: • direct economic effects on the CCS, including negative trends in income, revenues, employment, business opportunities and business models in the sector;• wider social effects and changes in consumer behaviour impacting the CCS, related to socio-cultural indicators, such as changes in cultural demand and consumption, skills, cooperation, well-being, diversity and professional status of cultural and creative workers.Linked to these two topics, two other macro considerations can be developed. For many CCS workers, such as artists and freelancers, the cultivation of their professional networks during events, fairs and festivals is crucial to attract new work and to secure future income. Since most of these events were cancelled or postponed, the number of physical opportunities to network and start new professional relationships drastically decreased, with important negative effects on future income. The new social distancing measures resulted in the shrinking of physical consumption of culture and thus limited demand for this kind of products and services, marking instead a growing consumption of culture through digital media. The market potential of many digital opportunities born in COVID-19 times would also raise the question of the shift towards commercially driven economic models that, before COVID-19, heavily relied on public funding. The increased use of digital tools raised other concerns as well about the degree of digital skills of artists and CCS professionals and their readiness to digitise. While some digital formats and solutions were easy due to the availability of basic expertise, the uptake of digital solutions for competitive e-creation and e-distribution has not been an easy pathway to follow. In this framework, the future crisis resistance of the art, media and creative professionals strongly depends on their way of doing business, the degree of digital innovation, the set-up of new collaborations, the re-thinking of relationships with audiences and customers for the development of new revenue models.<< Objectives >>""Paint the Bit"" project aims to strengthen and contaminate Cultural and Creative sector professionals' skills for a digital, innovative and inclusive production and distribution in a renewed labour opportunities. New job profiles will be identified and a VET curricula will be defined to better responding to the current market framework of artistic and creative production and fruition in the era of digital transition. A blended training and capacity building path for CCS professionals aims to reinforce their digital and transferrable competences so that they can increase their efficiency and acquire career adaptive competences. It will enable them to become more resilient and competitive in their professional offerings, strengthen networking capacities and cross-sectoral collaborative approaches, as necessary skills to provide cultural and creative services more responsive to renewed market needs and social trends.<< Implementation >>“Paint the Bit” project foresees 5 main activities packages. The first work package (WP1) intends to frame the renewed social and market context linked to CCS sector, maps the training needs and offers for CCS professionals at national and European levels, and describes emerging job role profiles for CCS professionals. It will include the following tasks:T1.1 Specify renewed job role framework T1.2 Mapping professional needs T1.3 Synthesis of emerging job roles This WP will lead to the delivery of the Project Result 1 – Identification of emerging roles for Cultural and Creative Sector professionals. WP2 aims to design and develop VET curricula that can be used to train according to the job role profiles specified in WP1 and their “ingredients”, namely the methodology, the training modules and the handbooks. It will include the following tasks:T2.1 Design of the learning outcomes T2.2 Design of VET methodology T2.3 Validation and standardization T2.4 Development of training modules for transferrable competences T2.5 Development of training modules for digital competences T2.6 Development of training handbooks T2.7 Curriculum upgrade after the pilot This WP will lead to the delivery of the Project Result 2 – Modular VET curriculaWP3 foresees the design and development of a collaborative E-learning platform. This platform will reflect the methodologies and tools identified to pursue the learning outcomes and curriculum requirements. For this reason, it will be structured as an operational tool for all training and capacity building phases, containing all OERs and training materials developed by the project. It will include the following tasks:T3.1 Design of the E-learning Platform.T3.2 Development of E-learning materialsT3.3 Development of the E-Learning PlatformT3.4 Improvement of the Platform after the piloting phaseThis work package will lead to the delivery of the Project Result 3 –E-learning platformWP4 refers to the Piloting of the overall capacity building path including MOOC, Specialised Course and Peer Learning, to ensure that the modularized curriculum is fit-for-purpose, relevant to the identified professional needs and highly consistent with EQF-ECVET. The learning-outcomes approach will be applied to the creation of job profiles and the design of training modules taking into account the ECVET principles. Planned activities within each training phases will foster, in a progressive way, the acquisition of the competences and further application to specific situations. It will include the following tasks:T4.1 MOOC T4.2 Selection, targeting and matching of participants for specialised capacity buildingT4.3 Specialised Digital/Virtual Courses T4.4 Peer-to-peer learningT4.5 Assessment and validation This work package will lead to the delivery of the Project Result 4 – Pilot test. The last WP5 is transversal to the all project activities foreseen and directly contribute to the creation of a transnational Community of practice involving VET organisations, CCS freelancers and professionals, stakeholders and private actors to promote a cross-sectorial collaborative model that can meet the current challenges of the arts and creative sector.WP5 will place as overall support of the project a sound dissemination and exploitation plan, with tailored activities addressed to target groups and stakeholders. It includes the creation of the project web site; the production of dissemination material and dissemination of project outcomes by providing versions adapted to national contexts.<< Results >>The project will expect to achieve these main outcomes:•Development of a VET curriculum and methodology linked to the emerging job profiles in the current societal and economic context;•Reinforcement of digital and transferable competences (including entrepreneurial, managerial and collaborative skills) of CCS freelancers and professionals;•Creation of a transnational Community of practice involving VET organisations, CCS freelancers and professionals, stakeholders and private actors to promote a cross-sectorial collaborative model that can meet the current challenges of the arts and creative sector. To reach these results, “Paint the Bit” will produce a range of fruitful and innovative outputs:- Report on needs and training offer - Job role profiles, freely available via the platform - VET curricula, including adapted version to five national contexts (France, Cyprus, Italy, Austria and Spain) - Learning methodology and handbooks - Online platform to support all blended learning phase as well as discussions, exchange and knowledge sharing- OERs, translated and adapted to national contexts- Web site and social software - Standards on learning outcomes and eCF, ECVET and EQAVET standards"

The ACTION project proposes a three-strand approach to re-engage NEETs in education and training framed in a digital and social media production training environment.1. Partners will focus on developing a suite of action-learning resources that are completely different from the formal provision that has failed in the past. The action-learning resources will use inquiry-based, embedded-learning resources to unlock the talents of marginalised youth to build high-value, transversal skills that are essential for inclusion, personal development and employment.2. The training will be delivered in a ‘scaffolded’ team-learning environment to ensure that learners have the support of their peers throughout the training process.3. The training will be entirely built in a digital and social media production framework where there are potential roles and opportunities for individuals of all personality types allowing target group members to participate and learn according to their own individual preferences. The proposed training resources will focus on the use of the most widely available digital and social media devices such as smart-phones to ensure that the resources developed are usable by youth workers everywhere. The project will engage marginalised youth and support them on a journey to unlock latent talents. It is a project that gives voice to marginalised youth and in doing so cultivates positive attitudes towards education and training within the marginalised youth target group and raise awareness of opportunities for personal and professional development. Youth workers are the key training intermediaries in the ACTION project and partners will ensure that appropriate in-service training is provided to support their continuous professional development and build the skills and competences of those working on the front-line.- 42 youth workers will complete the in-service training programme developed building their skills and competences to use digital and social media production and digital media platforms as robust, pertinent and highly attractive learning environments for attracting marginalised youth back to education and training.- 210 representatives of the NEET target group will complete the audio-visual production training programme and build key transversal skills for personal and professional development.- 42 short films with a civic and social engagement theme will be researched, story-boarded, written, produced, edited, promoted and presented by the marginalised youth engaged as part of a skills demonstration- Short-film festivals will be held in each partner country to showcase the short films produced and to encourage the next batch of marginalised youth to engage with the training programme provided.- A dedicated Vimeo/YouTube channel will be developed to showcase all of the short films produced- A project Facebook page will be established and over the lifetime of the project over 100 articles will be posted by project partners attracting a minimum of 1200 followers- A Final Conference will be held in France to present all resources produced and this will incorporate an awards ceremony where the best short film produced will be presented with an appropriate award.
