In the context of the COVID crisis, but also in a world where digital technology occupies an increasingly important place, we are led to imagine new routes for players in the cultural sector and in the adult training sector, but we are not all equal when it comes to these tools.Working during this period of crisis requires us to master a hybrid environment, on site and in virtual form. Not only to use the tools and to have access to them, but also to be able to carry out activities by adapting our modes of action and relationship to overcome the limitations of online and remote work.We therefore wish to work together on the question of how to form a community at a time of the isolation generated by this crisis, and thus allow cultural actors, actors of training or ordinary citizens to share their history, their knowledge, their environment and their heritage. The HOPE in US project aims to strengthen cooperation between the sectors of culture and adult education by creating a virtual third place.Confidence, benevolence, non-judgment and respect for cultural rights are the basis of this project. Thanks to it, we develop in learners their ability to give meaning to their actions, to become responsible for what they can change and to be resilient in the face of what they cannot avoid. We are 5 partners associated with the project from Belgium, Spain and France and we contribute in our activities to one or more European priorities such as social inclusion, digital innovation, civic engagement, creativity and culture .We have defined together 3 main work objectives:- Conceive new methods of creation / dissemination / mediation for players of European arts and culture- Invent interactive teaching formats for adult education stakeholders- Make learners' skills explicit and make their creative potential visibleTo achieve these goals, we have decided to create two innovative educational resources:- a toolbox that will allow you to experiment and learn how to be resilient, as well as to train and use digital technology. Each user can use all or part of the tools offered to meet their needs or the needs of the groups they support.- a Web TV which will be a virtual third-place for following and creating different programs. It will be designed as a meeting place between users, a visibility platform for cultural players, a place for the exchange of ideas, practices, knowledge, a place for training, online workshops.Adult learners from the different countries of the partnership will be involved throughout our project in order to build these digital resources for and with them. This co-construction, in which social service students will also be associated, will help to change the way we look at these people and to recognize them in their wealth, their creative potential, their innate talents.Accessible online, our productions can be used throughout the European Union, well beyond the field of adult education. The project will have an impact on the education and training system, as it aims to improve training systems in the adult education sector and more broadly in supporting this audience. The place given to the artistic creation sector will help learners and professionals to acquire transversal and digital skills and competences, contributing to reinforce creativity in education. Thanks to this project, we want to stimulate the innovative and creative potential of all, of course contributing to the resilience of the cultural and creative sectors, but also to creating hope and a feeling of European belonging.

"The aim of the CHANGE OF VIEW project is to renew support methods for vulnerable groups, particularly the remobilization phase, the first step in any training program.
The 6 partners associated with the project from Belgium, Spain, France and Luxembourg contribute in their activities to one or more European priorities such as the fight against dropping out, the inclusion of disabled workers, the development of transversal skills and the fight against illiteracy.
Their experience has led them to note that the staff or educators tend to position themselves in an unilateral relationship of support towards the persons concerned and that too often the models of interventions are not considered from the needs expressed by the latter, but by those perceived by the educators. At the same time, these adult learners sometimes unconsciously demonstrate self-discrimination. They then adopt attitudes of resignation to avoid confronting situations that seem hostile to them.
Too often these so-called ""vulnerable"" publics are qualified by their weaknesses, their lacks, rather than by their potential, their aspirations, their resources, while they develop incredible survival strategies.
We have defined three work objectives for this project:
1- Change the pedagogical reference paradigm of educators and staff accompanying these learners
2- Make explicit the skills of learners and make visible their potential
3- Fight against the self-discrimination of adult learners To achieve these goals, we have decided to create innovative educational resources that can be used by professionals in the field of adult education.
These resources are:
- A frame of reference for trainers that allows them to build a conceptual framework around ""empowerment"", positive pedagogy and capabilities, to develop in each individual the power to act and foster self-esteem, self-confidence, initiative, creativity to increase one's skills.
- A gallery of ""inspirational portraits"" or ""role models"" created with the target audience accompanied by a methodology to enrich and use this gallery. These ""role models"" are neither idols nor superheroes, but inspiring leaders allowing them to recognize themselves in people close to their experience and reality and to escape the spiral of self-discrimination.
- A game co-designed with learners to make visible their potential, their skills, to assist them in the construction of a life course, a path to employment and social inclusion. Adult learners from different countries of the partnership will be associated throughout our project to build for and with them these educational resources. This co-construction, to which social work students will also be associated, will help to change the way we look at these people and to recognize them in their richness, their potential, their innate talents.
Accessible online, our productions can be used by all educators in the European Union well beyond the field of adult education.
The project will have an impact on the education and training system as it aims to improve training systems in the adult education sector and more broadly to support this audience. This work methodology can be applied in all training sectors and with all types of public: women, young people, people with disabilities, migrants, but also school, students, apprentices ... Indeed, it allows educators, teacher trainers to put in place the right conditions to foster a more social and collaborative learning allowing everyone to develop their skills."

As Europe isolates due to Covid19, the wellbeing cost on our population is yet to be determined. Huge and overwhelming worries envelop our communities, sudden unemployment, weakened social institutions and eroded social capital. Mental health support services are preparing for an unprecedented spike in demand. A study in The Lancet confirms that the loss of liberty, fear of infection and length of separation creates an environment conducive to post-traumatic stress, detachment, insomnia and anger - “the psychological impact of quarantine is wide-ranging, substantial, and can be long-lasting.”Social Prescribing is a powerful, proven community mechanism to improve the physical, emotional, mental wellbeing of adults by connecting them to non-medical community-based sources of supports. While the benefits of social prescribing are vast and the process relatively simple, social prescribing is still a relatively unknown community approach to embedding life-long learning as a resource for living. Using a cross sectoral, transnational approach, Activate Social Prescribing for Community Learning (ASPALE) promotes the principle of social prescribing to key adult education groups across the EU. A key impact of APSALE is the introduction and uptake of the social prescribing approach in 3 countries where it is currently just a concept - Greece, Spain & France and widening its practice in UK/Northern Ireland and Ireland.ASPALE PROJECT OBJECTIVES are directly linked to the needs of our target groups. ASPALE will:1) Introduce the powerful health and wellbeing concept of Social Prescribing as a lifelong learning tool in Europe 2) Empower at risk adults to improve their health literacy & take responsibility for their own health (IO2). Effective social prescribing is about providing the building blocks for personal learning & knowledge application in a wellbeing context. 3) Create tailored guides & supports (IO1, IO3, IO4) for social prescribing implementers to help them understand &embed social prescribing in their work4) Facilitate sustainable links between key local & regional social prescribing organisations via creating 5 ASPALE PARTICIPANT FORUMSEach ASPALE IO is designed to be used as an independent resource, but collectively, they are a 360 degree adult education initiative to empower and equip vulnerable adults, community care providers, health and care practices and social/cultural educators to understand and embed social prescribing in their work/offering. IO1: Health Literacy Empowerment Guide for Adults. A self-care guide to empower adults (particularly those suffering from poor mental health) to make sound health and wellbeing decisions and improve their personal responsibility and independence in everyday life - at home, in the community, at the workplace. It will improve the health literacy of at least 1,000 adults in vulnerable positions (those suffering from loneliness, depression or other issues such as social isolation). They will download or receive our ASPALE Adult Health Literacy Guide, a practical action orientated learning resource that will enable them to start making positive and pro-active decisions about their wellbeing and health.IO2: Compendium of Social Prescribing Community Care Projects. A Compendium and Implementation Guide of European Social Prescribing Best Practices and Inventions e.g Men’s Sheds, Social Farming, Community Gardening. At least 500 Community Care Organisations will download and use IO2 and begin the process of embedding social prescribing in their work with adults IO3: Social Prescribing Training Programme/OERs for Health and Care Practices. An Open Education Resource Pack for to upskill Health and Care practitioners with applied knowledge to embed social prescribing in their work with vulnerable adults. At least 500 practitioners will download and use IO3 and begin the process of embedding social prescribing in their work with adults IO4: Introduction to Social Prescribing Course for Social/Cultural Service educators. A training course on how to create new or tailored social /cultural adult education offerings e.g. art/creative wellbeing workshops, drama therapy, which uses storytelling, acting, and improvisation to encourage self-discovery and expression, music therapy, that deliver socially prescribed health and wellbeing benefits. At least 500 Social, Arts and Cultural Educators will download and use IO4 and begin the process of embedding social prescribing in their work with adults Activate Social Prescribing for Community Learning (ASPALE) provide a dynamic multi-resource adult education community learning programme to raise awareness, engagement and adoption of Social Prescribing across Europe. COVID19 is certain to cause long-term isolation, anxiety, depression and loneliness. We do not know when this crisis will end but we do know that new and varied social solutions are going to be required to help Europe and its citizens heal.
