"Mathematics is an international language of signs and symbols recognised all over the world and will provide a good way to overcome language and social barriers. We aim to make the students more motivated to learn Mathematics and challenge the mathematical problems in their life. As a result, their understanding of Mathematics and skills in solving problems will have improved and their ICT skills will have been further developed too. In addition, the teachers will strenghten their knowledge of teaching (Maths, English, ICT) in the participating schools. Looking at our students' low exam results ( Maths and English ) in our schools we believe that project develop a positive attitude towards maths that will positively further their achievements and development in the future. ""With Mathematics Through Life"" was project in which, students were accessing a more practical and functional aspect of Mathematics by creating mathematical games and puzzles, mathematical mockups , joining in tasks, they could understand the purpose of Maths and were making their own mathematical problems for others to solve. In some tasks they were involved in creating and solving puzzles, rebuses and were inspired to create their own games. This project let them exercise their mind and practise logical thinking. The tasks and activities were chosen to demonstrate that maths is always in our lives and we see the effects of maths in our cultures. Those tasks students realised maths in their roots and maths in other nations’ cultures. The project was about exchanging materials about students themselves, their school, city and country. The materials were presented in English which also developed students’ language competencies. Interesting mathematical problems gave an opportunity to teach through creativity and fun and encourage those students with dyslexia, dysortography, dysgraphy and dyscalculia to search for solutions to mathematical problems. Seeing Mathematics in action rather than working from a textbook improved their understanding and use of mathematical skills and helped them to learn to use them in everyday life. Disguising Mathematics through riddles, mini projects, games, writing raps and other interesting tasks improved their attitude and motivation for the subject. This project helped them to realize how useful and rewarding group work can be and develop their confidence in sharing ideas and knowledge with others and overcoming difficulties in a joint effort not only increased the students’ acquaintance with Mathematics, but helped them develop their social and communication skills. This aspect was especially important in view of the disadvantaged students who are often inhibited and needed much more encouragement to take part in group activities. Using a foreign language for a specific purpose was a good chance to overcome language barriers and cultural differences. The project “Look alive! for our world ” came about after our school,Polish school, took part in a local government initiative to help clean the bank of the river for rubbish. Because of this, we wanted to create a project where pupils at our school, in collaboration with pupils from other schools in different countries should learn about the environment, pollution, climate change and sustainability in food and food production. We also wanted the pupils to learn how political decisions are made and what influence the decision-makers. Can young people influence political decisions when it comes to climate and pollution? It is also important for the project to make young people aware of how their own choices have an impact on the environment, and for them to understand that the young people of today are the leaders, politicians, employers and workers of tomorrow. Hence the title of the project, “Look alive! for our world !”Through different activities, interaction and exchange of practices in the partner schools, we are hoping to raise the understanding and knowledge of environmental issues, how they are dealt with today, and how we can solve various problems that are influencing our pupils’ future. Through the tasks, they will also learn vocabulary and expressions related to the topic and for the final meeting, they will have prepared for a debate, where they will discuss more than one side of the environmental issues. Thus, they will learn about how to form arguments, debate techniques and to understand that others might have a different opinion to themselves. Also, this is a great opportunity to practise their language skills in the language of cooperation for the project, English. The learning objectives have been developed so the pupils can learn vocabulary related to each topic. They should learn about recycling, energy and energy sources, consequences of the melting of the ice caps and the perma- frost and how the ocean is affected by pollution. Furthermore, they are going to learn about the rain forests, their own carbon footprint, sustainable food and food production and about political and economic issues when it comes to the environment. The partners for the project are from Turkey, Denmark, Spain and Poland. Some of the partners have collaborated on different projects through eTwinning, and Poland and Turkey have previously been on an Erasmus + project together. The learning activities and tasks have been developed so that they can be implemented in the school curriculum for use in the project and for the future. Hence, the project can continue developing after it has oficially finished.

During our project development all participant institutions will encourage everyone to realize the importance of learning Maths, to make a step towards developing creativity, organizing and group work skills. After completing the activities in the project, it will be shown that it is very necessary to learn Mathematics for analytical, technological, scientific and economic applications. Through different activities, interaction and exchange we will motivate our students/pupils to understand how Mathematics is used in everyday life in their countries and other countries in Europe. By this way they will also learn to accept customs, culture, and heritage to see that we are the same even in our differences. They will be motivated to learn foreign languages for effective communication. Six schools from different European countries will participate in the project. After researching students' comments and suggested activities it was decided to have the project theme of 'Maths'. Students are between 11 and 15 years old. All the schools have SEN students in their school and almost all the schools are based in socially disadvantaged areas. So it is very important for the students in these schools to participate in this kind of project to be more open, self confident and tolerant.Students will develop the activities within their school subjects during regular classes and also some extra-curricular activities may take place. Teachers from different subjects and students from different classes will be involved to allow a wide representation of activities. The results and process of the project will be evaluated by monitoring, feedback, internal and external evaluation according to the principles of Total Quality Management. By exchanging reports, pictures, videos and products, the students and also the staff will become more aware of the use of Mathematics, cultural similarities and differences between themselves and people from other countries and increase their ability to communicate more effectively with each other. The project theme will become an integral part of schools' curricula not only for two years of the project, but that will also last after the financed period. Articles concerning the partnership will be published in local/regional newspapers and on local/regional websites. A project website/blog will be created to put the news, results and project progress information on the Internet. Project results and activities will be made available to the parents during the parents' meetings at schools. The project results will be disseminated as wide as possible. The partner schools will work together on eTwinning platform Twinspace, develop the activities and create new tasks even after the end of the EU funding. Finally, the staff can compare their students' attitudes towards learning Maths and exchange ideas how to encourage teenagers to become more conscious participants of educational process in the future.

"Our project focuses on developing basic and transversal skills. We wanted to create an enviroment in which participants will not only get new knowledge, but they will gain new abilities, we will encourage everyone to realize the importance of learning how to be happy and healthy by using Maths, Sience, to make a step towards developing creativity, organizing and group work skills. First we think we can't educate a global person just by talking and reading about the world. All people need to explore the world by themselves and put their hands on it. Meeting new people from different countries, their culture, habits and superstitions can give us the best weapon against xenophobia and rasim, it opens up our minds to new thoughts and ideas and makes us realize that we are not alone in the world and we have to try to understand others, even if they differ from us. Through different activities, interaction and exchange we will motivate our students to understand how to be happy and healthy in their countries and other countries in Europe. By this way they will also learn to accept customs, culture, and heritage to see that we are the same even in our differences. They will be motivated to learn Maths, Science, ICT for success at school and foreign languages for effective communication. This project will give us not only knowledge of other European countries - their history, nature, religions, we will also be able to solve our problems, try to cooperate together find our own roots by exploring our countries and searching for treasures hidden in our history, nature, minds by creating different tasks. We are aware that some skills are very important in our lives and their level is not so high these days, especially when we know that our students have a low results in final exams with Maths and Science. We would like to improve their skills of Maths, Science because many people can't understand that we use Maths, Science for happy and healthy life. Teachers will also strenghten their teaching methods by exchanging ideas, finding solutions. We will create our students health and happiness tasks related to reading, sport, too. We know that level of working skills and responsibility is not as high as expected but our teams will be responsible for work and follow the schedule. We differ, we speak different languages, but we have something in common. We want to communicate and use English and mother languages as a tool. Every tool that people use must be effective, so we need to ""sharpen"" it. We need to improve our communicative and creative skills - throw away shyness and start to work together in a team. We want to develop fluency, accuracy and enlarge our wordstock and use Sport, ICT, Science, Maths, Music and Art in solving problems in our daily life. There will be ""Erasmus+ teams"" in every school and other students will participate in some project tasks, cultural events and trips and they will see finished tasks. Students will share their experience with their parents and relatives and we expect that parents will help students with some tasks. After completing the activities in the project, it will be shown that it is very necessary to learn Health and Happiness for analytical, technological, scientific and economic applications. Our project includes cooperation of students and teachers. There are project teams of English, Maths, Science, ICT and Psychology teachers in schools. Students are betweein 11 and 15 years old. There will be at least 1200 students including students with special needs in the project. We focus on students who have problems with health and happiness, have difficulties in Math, Science, Foreign Language, are interested in technology. To choose the students we will apply a questionnaire about life style(eating and sleeping habits, free time activities, future plans). Methodology to be used in carrying out the project is PRINCE2(Projects in Controlled Environments) that is a project management method. It deals with the organisation, management and control of projects. It emphasis is on dividing the project into manageable and controllable stages. It is a process-driven project management methodology. The partner schools will work together on eTwinning platform Twinspace, develop the activities and create new tasks even after the end of the EU funding."
