Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a motor disorder often accompanied by sensory, communication, behavioral, cognitive and perceptual disturbances. Between 0,20-0,25% births in Europe has CP (> 1.000.000 EU-28 citizens) CP cannot be cured, but persons can live a full life with proper care and supports, according to the rights determined by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD, 2006) Family-Centered Early Intervention (FCEI) is an innovative quality service and recommended practice, making a family more competent in mobilizing intra and extra-family resources, which positively influence the child, parent and family´s functioning Family Empowerment is achieved through positive relationship between family, professional and social networks In the field of Cerebral Palsy, FCEI is of outmost relevance, because Children with CP have complex long-term needs that can only be fully addressed through this model (FCEI for Children With CP and Their Families. Susanne King et al). Hovewer, the most work models remain focused primarily on the Child-Centered Model with a rehabilitative approach and FCEI is not enough implemented (Cómo implementar el modelo centrado en la familia en la intervención tempran. Anales de psicología, 2017, vol. 33, nº 3), due to the lack of, among others; • Skills of Families for increasing their empowerment • Skills of Professionals for implementing FCEI • Collaboration inside Networks of Informal Supports • Consideration of Adults with CP as part of informal supports, losing the potential of their own experience • Access to existing knowledge, best practices and tools CP-EARLY INTERVENTION is launched with the main objective of increasing the competences (attitudes, skills, knowledge) of Families, Professionals and Adults with CP on how to enhance implementation of Family-Centered Early Intervention in the Cerebral Palsy collective through an innovative training program The project has the next specific objectives: • Promote Empowerment of Families • Provide Guidelines and Tools to support the implementation of FCEI in CP • Strength the Networks of Informal Supports and increase the collaboration and sharing inside them • Include Adults with Cerebral Palsy as part of this Networks of Informal Supports Through the execution of this Project the next results will be obtained; • Co-Created Methodological Guide (I.O.1) will be developed, involving the direct participation of End Users, with the main objective of determining the key contents, methodologies and tools needed for creating and improving the critical competences of Families, Professionals and Adults with CP about how to implement the Family-Centered Early Intervention. • Training Materials (I.O.2) addressed to Families, Professionals and Adults with CP about how implement the Family-Centered Early Intervention. • Design of Experiential Training Activities (I.O.3); They will be the core of the Training Program and they will enhance the practical and experiential training of Families, Professionals and Adults with CP, including the optimal and oriented exploitation of aforementioned Training Materials within real environments. • Development of an e-Training Platform (I.O.4), for supporting the implementation of the Training Methodology, including Training Materials, Workspace and link to applicable ICT Tools. • Creation of 5 CP-EARLY INTERVENTION UNITS in the Associations working with persons with CP in order to ensure the sustainable exploitation of the project after the project lifetime. • Development of Dissemination Actions addressed to the European collective related to CP and with the collective working in the field of Early Intervention CP-EARLY INTERVENTION will benefit a number of persons during the project lifetime 120 persons will be trained, including families, professionals and Adults with Cerebral Palsy (30 in Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Italy) through their participation in the validation actions of Training Materials, Designed Experiential Training Activities and e-Training Platform. • 2.000 families, professionals, Adults with Cerebral Palsy and other stakeholders around Cerebral Palsy (500 in Spain, Portugal, Croatia and Italy) and 2.000 families, professionals and Adults with other Disabilities at EU level will be aware, through multiplier events and dissemination actions to be carried on through the project website, newsletters, leaflets, etc…

"Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a motor disorder accompanied by sensory, communication, behavioral, cognitive and perceptual disturbances, affecting movement and posture in2,5 per 1.000 births in EU (≈1.000.000 persons). Medical advancements have increased the life expectancy for Adults with CP(ACP), raising questions about how to best manage the effects of their ageing.Between about 20 to 40 years old, most ACP experience some form of premature aging(www.cerebralpalsyguide.com/community/cerebral-palsy-in-adults). They manifest a higher rate of chronic health conditions and decline in strength and functional reserve, deterioration in physical activity, increased risk of falls and musculoskeletal complications, changes in swallowing ability, dental health problems, side effects due to medications or surgeries and difficulty walking or stiff muscles (25% of ACP will lose their walking ability). There are several strategies for enhancing the well-ageingof ACP, which can be divided as follows:-Preventing and dealing with the physical decline, including appropriate seating and postures, keeping and adapting the physical activity, stretching exercises, physiotherapy, specialized nutrition, dental care, avoiding excessive weight gain, medicine management, etc.-Preventing and dealing with the cognitive decline, through cognitive stimulation and specialized activities focusing on the dimensions affected by dementia (calculus, language, orientation, etc…). For instance, therapies based on ""SERIOUS GAMES"" are exhibiting good results when they are used with persons with mild and moderate symptoms of cognitive decline (Robert, P., et al. 2014).-Keeping and/or strengthening autonomy and social inclusion, including the adaptation to the ageing of the supports (relatives, friends, others…)-Use of Assistive Technologies (ATs) for dealing with physical, intellectual and social barriers, according to the WHO World Report on Disability (2011).CP-AGEING is launched for increasing the competences (attitudes, knowledge, skills) of Adults with CP and their Supports on how to enhance their Well-Ageing.Specific objectives:•To aware/motivate about the relevance of preventing and dealing with the ageing effects while keeping their QoL.•To create and transfer guidelines and tools on how to prevent and deal with the physical and cognitive decline and for keeping and/or strengthening autonomy and social inclusion, including the selection and exploitation ofATs.•To promote the implementation of the innovative strategies in institutions but also at home, promoting self-care and autonomy.•To focus in the ageing of Supports and its impact in the support itself, grieving process or legal and economic issues among others•To strengthen the cooperation between institutions, ACP and Supports The next main results will be produced:CO-DESIGNED SYLLABUS (I.O.1) A Syllabus for improving the well-ageing of adults with Cerebral Palsy will be Co-Designed, with the direct participation of End Users (ACP and Supports) TRAINING PACKAGE FOR PREVENTING AND DEALING WITH THE PHYSICAL AGEING OF ADULTS WITH CP (I.O.2), including Training Materials and Experiential Training Activities, will be built including the next 4 main Topic1.Physiotherapy. Postures and sitting 2.Nutrition and Swallowing disorders3.Medicines management4.Adapted Sports and physical activities TRAINING PACKAGE FOR PREVENTING AND DEALING WITH THE COGNITIVE DECLINE OF ADULTS WITH CP (I.O.3), including Training Materials and Experiential Training Activities, will be built including the next 4 main Topic1.Memory and Disorientation;2.Language/communication and perception/gnosis3.Attention and calculus4.Coordination and fine motor skills.A summary of existing Serious Games and other Assistive Technologies TRAINING PACKAGE FOR KEEPING THE AUTONOMY AND SOCIAL INCLUSION OF ADULTS WITH CP ALONG THEIR AGEING PROCESS (I.O.4), including Training Materials and Experiential Training Activities, will be built including the next 4 main Topic1.Mobility, going out and enjoy inclusive environments2.Communication and getting in contact with my network3.Living at Home, Hygiene & Rest4.Management of the ageing of my SupportsAll Training Topics will include a section devoted to the presentation of existing Assistive Technologies ACCESIBLE E-TRAINING PLATFORM (I.O.5) will be built including training materials, training activities, serious games, tools for enhancing the e-learning experience, etc.VALIDATION PILOT ACTIONS will be implemented with 25 ACP and Supports (total 100 in Spain, Portugal, Slovenia and Greece) where all the Training Packages and the Accesible e-Training Platform will be put into practice and tested.4 NATIONAL MULTIPLIER EVENTS will be organized wth 120 Stakeholders"
