Open Access Mandate for Publications assignment_turned_in Project2018 - 2019Partners:INNOVA BIC, SIG, HGKINNOVA BIC,SIG,HGKFunder: European Commission Project Code: 805668Overall Budget: 50,000 EURFunder Contribution: 50,000 EURDespite the fact that SMEs can strongly benefit from implementation of the Open Innovation (OI) in many dimensions, the opportunities for the application of the OI model in SMEs still remain unexploited due to the different factors (e.g. insufficient support of the policies/incentives, difficulties in accessing the existing funding schemes supporting innovations, lack of capacities/awareness/know-how etc.). With limited resources and by acting only in limed environments, the potentials for innovation-related information flows and collaboration opportunities for SMEs are commonly restricted in all terms. Recognising the importance of establishing the new cross-sector value chains and infrastructures as new business ecosystems, InnTense aims at first line to explore current tendencies and to develop a methodology which will offer comprehensive support to SMEs in overcoming the barriers for successful application of the OI and its implementation on the broader levels. InnTense Project is a Peer learning of innovation agencies action, bringing together three Project partner from three EU Member States (Germany, Italy and Croatia) with an aim of setting up the standardised methodology for the innovation support for SMEs. Based on the pervious experiences and faced challenges, InnTense Project partners will analyse, assess and document the current state, factors, drivers, hindrances and benefits for the application of the OI model in SMEs, aiming at reinforcement of the SMEs innovation capacities. In order to achieve the main project outcome – InnTense Design Option Paper, the Partnership will apply a sequence of tasks which will be constituting parts of the Twinning Advanced methodology, underpinning the InnTense Project. In this way InnTense aims to deliver SMEs support for the enhancement of the innovation capacities, at the same time establishing the permanent learning instrument for Innovation support agencies.

InnoMedia is ultimately a peer learning action for three innovation support agencies of three different European countries about policies, programmes, tools and services for SME innovation, which aims at enhancing the effectiveness of regional development policies and contribute to the transformation of knowledge into new products and services, innovative and attractive for the market.

Because natural forage or alfalfa grown without irrigation is used to feed livestock, drinking water is considered the main source of arsenic for cattle (several studies reveal arsenic concentrations in phreatic water samples above 0.15 mg/L, the level that suggest causing chronic intoxication in cattle). Therefore, as it has been demonstrated, there is a risk of exposure for the human health due to the introduction in the food chain through milk or meat. In view of arsenic toxicity and the large number of people exposed to its effects worldwide, there is a clear need for the implementation in remote exploitations of affordable and sustainable treatment methodologies to provide potable water to cattle. To face this problem and provide a solution, NANOREMOVAS pursues to develop and implement a pilot plant for the remote treatment of arsenic polluted waters based on the application of state-of-art advanced multifunctional nanostructured materials, already tested at the laboratory level. In this sense, NANOREMOVAS includes the cooperation between the industry and academia of partners from Europe and Argentina. Besides the required research and innovation to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of the developed water recycling technique, the seconded researchers will carry out a series of tasks and outreach activities, promoting entrepreneurship culture and support of young innovative companies in order to set-up technological partnerships within the water and livestock sector. Furthermore, NANOREMOVAS represents a significant contribution to knowledge and technology transfer from the academia to the industrial sector, through the partners well established reputation as transfer hubs, that will led to quickly creating designs and industrial equipment/processes/model
