The aim of the project is to enhance the critical thinking of young people living in cities and foster the development of their social, civic and intercultural competences so that these skills can be capitalized in the field of Social Entrepreneurship. The assumptions of this project idea are based on the fact that nowadays, the diversity of cities take on a new dimension due to globalization; political, economic and social restructuring. Globalization and the increasing interdependency of cities in a network society have led to the accelerated circulation of people, commodities, capital, identities, and images through global space; as well as to the increasing mobility of ideologies, economic principles, policies, and lifestyles. It is recognized then, the need to implement actions to improve the level at which civic and citizenship education is taught. A study conducted by Eurodyce in 2017 concludes that the two most widespread approaches in Europe are the integration of citizenship education components into other subjects and its mention as a cross-curricular objective. They can each be found in at least thirty education systems in all levels of primary and general secondary education. By contrast, citizenship education is provided as a compulsory separate subject in a much more limited number of education systems: 7 at primary level, 14 at lower and 12 at upper secondary levels. Because city development has long term implications for current and future residents, above all within European urban areas, it is necessary to implement actions aimed at foster the possibility for young people to have a say in the development of their communities, given that they can provide unique and diverse perspectives on the current forms of the built environment and future plans for their city environment.Under this perspective, the Urban Civic Education LAB project will design comprehensive educational approaches aiming to develop social entrepreneurship capacities in youngsters living in the urban areas while enhancing the social clout of youngsters as providers of added social value to their communities. The methodology that will be used will be a combination of non-formal education, civic education, social and entrepreneurship education. These will be utilized instruments to enhance components of a comprehensive and progressive approach to entrepreneurial empowerment, projected on the social issues and civic ethics of urban areas.Specifying, the partnership will provide a comprehensive pattern of social entrepreneurial empowerment for youngsters living in cities, focusing on the mains challenges affect the urban area’s context, though the following activities:-Collection and exchange of good practices;-specific Blended Motilities;-dissemination events."

It is not possibleto achieve the climate-neutrality target without transitioning to a fully circular economy. The new CircularEconomy Action Plan is at the core of the European Green Deal, the EU roadmap towards climateneutrality. The circular economy model where value and resources are maintained in the economy foras long as possible and waste generation is minimised, reduces pressures on natural resources whileboosting sustainable growth and jobs creation. It can make a decisive contribution to decarbonisingthe economy. The generation of waste in the Western Balkans has been increasing steadily over thelast years due to economic development and increased consumption, currently being at around1000kg/capita. While this is still lower than the EU average of 1700kg/capita, the very low recyclingrates (below 3%, in comparison to the EU average of 44%) result in higher per capita amount of wastenot being recycled. The Western Balkans will need to align with the single-use plastic legislation and tofully implement the modernised EU waste legislation, including its recycling and landfill reductiontargets. The overall goal of the project is engaging and empowering young people in circularity actionsfor transforming cities into circular and liveable for better opportunities for employment, cleanenvironment and inclusiveness. The final results of the project are: 1 Research paper from each partner elaborated about the status ofcircularity in rural and urban areas, 3 Training Modules developed on circular economy andsustainability, 20 youth operators are trained within the International Training Course WP2, 1Toolkitfocused on Circular Eco-design is developed for product redesign-repair techniques, At least 10 ruralyouth engaged within the local activities through application of circular economy toolkit in every partnercountry, At least 20 hours of e-learning course develop

This growth in the population brings the challenge to adjust to the demands by changing food requirements of populations which also creates a series of environmental pressures. Western Balkan countries are struggling in reaching the mentioned goal. Despite the potential for agribusiness, Western Balkan are facing agricultural production decline and GHG emission increase due to common reasons throughout the Region: low input use and low quality of seeds; poor technical and technological farm equipment; outmoded cultivation and seeding practices; limited irrigation; low use of modern equipment and techniques; dominance of subsistence agriculture; use of marginal land for crop. Western Balkans countries suffer from this severe regional issues bringing high levels of unemployment, especially among the youth. The lack of effective vocational education and the poor alignment of educational outcomes with the requirements of theeconomy result in skills mismatches on the labor market and a low employability of the labor force.According to the World Bank economic report the rates for the 2016 were: Bosnia 60%, Macedonia 50%, Montenegro 38%, Albania 33%. Young people have limited access to training and resources to establish their own businesses due to the lack of both hard (mastering of new technologies) and soft skills (communication, teamwork and collaborative problem solving), industry knowledge andpractical experience resulting in regular migration flows toward urban cities posing a significant challenge to long-term growth and sustainability.YEAP project aims to empower youth towards innovative green agro-technologies and start up business creation as the main driver to achieve food security and employability in an environmental friendly way through NFE methods. Our target group is the rural youths because we firmly believe that they are the future of the agricultural sector in participating countries. Young farmers can play an important role in ensuring food security for future generations equipped with the proper knowledge and skills in agro-farming and entrepreneurship. Keen on organic farming rural youth are very creative and opened target group in exploring these new opportunities. Objectives of the project are to educate the youths and train them on sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship, to promote and support Sustainable Agricultural Enterprises, to explore the Erasmus + Programme with a special focus on quality international cooperation, to develop participant’s competences in planning non formal education and intercultural activities; promoting social inclusion of young people, in line with the EU 2020 strategy, by improving the professional skills of the youth workers.

The generation of municipal waste per capita in the region is estimated to have increased sharply between 2014 and 2018, from 234 to 330 kg (40 percent). This increase is linked to the steady increase in GDP in the same period, although the growth in waste outstripped the growth in GDP. Municipal waste collection is insufficient in most countries in the region, especially in rural areas. Large numbers of waste facilities are outdated. On 2 December 2015, the European Commission establish a package to support the EU's transition to a circular economy.. The Western Balkan and as candidate region to join EU family must adhere the circular economy principles and integrate the community in the process. The project “Circular Economy into Art through Eco-Design” – CEED has the foundation to the European Union directives and Western Balkan needs on green growth and sustainability. “Circular Economy into Art through Eco-Design” – CEED aims to increase competences of youth workers in circular economy principles translated in eco-design, crafting skill and foster their entrepreneurial attitude, know-how to initiate their own start-up business. The total duration of the project is 24 months, composed of two main trainings. The first activity titled “The Circular City we Want” will focus on providing participants with knowledge, methodologies and Non Formal Education tools to locally spread skills and attitudes necessary to eco-design/crafting methods mainly for bulky and electronic waste (furniture, electronic waste, etc). The participants will get information on the life cycle of the products and which are the best methods for re-using and how to deal with. The second activity “Turn Waste into Profit” will involve the same youth workers and leaders who participated in the first project TC, with a focus on exploring the environmental sustainability dimension of Circular Economy business models as well as the instruments and strategy to be adopted in order to employ sustainability instruments/approaches to lower the environmental impact of rural and urban business and communities as well as to open innovative market niches in the recycling industry. Other activities will take place as local events/workshops where young people will realize artistic products and promote sustainability principles through circular economy components. At the end the young workers will gain competences on creating new green business opportunities through recycling and eco-design.
