Therefore a one-stop-mobility shop, acting as a personal mobility assistant, is the key to offer citizens an alternative that challenges car ownership. New technologies can play a crucial role for a large scale and stable business operation of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) at a global level. Interoperability Framework, Travel Shopping, Booking and Ticketing, Validation, Payment and Trip Tracking are technologies developed within Shift2Rail IP4 to meet the engineering challenges associated with leveraging current actions on establishing open-data policies and data exchange standardization. Given this, the main goal of Shift2MaaS is to support the uptake of the IP4 technology and overcome the technical and non-technical barriers for the adoption of new integrated mobility platforms. Shift2MaaS aims to support the introduction of Shift2Rail IP4 technology within the MaaS context by analysing the needs in terms of technology enablers of the different stakeholders involved, and demonstrating the benefits of IP4 through pilot demonstrators of collective and shared mobility services and the seamless passenger experience. To this end, Shift2MaaS will co-design and validate advanced use-cases for the deployment and implementation of COHESIVE solutions. The Shift2MaaS impact is validated and assessed in three European sites, all strongly engaged in the intermodality and MaaS domain, and setting specific actions on existing or new MaaS schemes. Shift2MaaS thus builds on and adds to previous projects by makes the connection to real environments. Shift2MaaS will also analyse regulatory and behavioural aspects of the IP4 multimodal transport services market place on business logics, on the creation of new business models and on the behavioural / demand response of passengers; contributing to an overall economic assessment.

Europe is not playing the role it should in the global market. European Data Incubator project aims to revert this situation. Every company is born as a startup, and Big Data has already proven to be a disruptive technology that can provide substantial changes in traditional and innovative domains. Many SMEs are facing a number of problems when attempting to develop a sort of comprehensive data strategy. The tools required to make successful data management an achievable prospect often require an up-front capital investment. The data remains in silos and its availability or cross-domain value is still unperceived. EDI will help them jump this hurdle providing (1) a free infrastructure with open source tools (2) training on the most known off-the-self solutions (3) support and business services to develop their business idea and (4) equity-free funding. The main objective of the project will be to leverage the technology and knowledge on Big Data across countries and sectors thanks to the incubation of start-ups/SMEs who use Big Data open source tools oriented to sort out major challenges in different business which facilitate their data assets. An experienced consortium will be behind EDI. It is comprised by experts on Big Data technologies, the managers of several acceleration initiatives within the FIWARE Accelerate programme, existing incubators like Deusto Entrepreneurship Centre and etventure Seed Lab and the largest online network for start-ups (F6S). Moreover, 16 data providers, from Finance, Transport, Industry 4.0, Retail, Media&Content, Energy, etc. will provide data to the incubation process. We expect to incubate around 120 companies under a 3-phase incubation programme (funnel approach) launching 3 call for proposals and disbursing up to €5M equity-free and commiting to raise additional financing resources up to €15M for them from private investors mainly.

GEMINI will contribute to Inclusive, Safe, Resilient Transport and Smart Mobility services for passengers and goods in 4 areas: (i) Developing and testing sustainable business models for New Mobility Services (NMS), including shared connected automated vehicles and shared mobility public transport and public-private partnerships, to increase shared mobility (MaaS and MaaC) solutions for enterprises, families and tourists. (ii) Creating digital enablers to accommodate mobility services (collaboration platforms and multimodal MaaS solutions) (iii) Actively engaging stakeholders (co-creation) and integrating in NMS Social Innovation practices, towards incentivising behavioural shift and user acceptance. (iv) Creating policy recommendations to enable scale-up and replicability of the delivered results in the elaboration and implementation of SUMPs, urban mobility planning frameworks and contribute to the CIVITAS impact assessment framework. GEMINI will define, ideate, co-create, validate, amplify, and upscale five dimensions of innovation (Business, Social & Behavioural, Operational, Technology Enablers, and Governance & Policy Framework) for delivering safe, resilient, accessible, affordable, and sustainable shared mobility solutions and demonstrate them in 4 Mobility Living Labs (Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Munich, Turin) and 4 Twinning Cities (Helsinki, Paris, Porto, Ljubljana). The MLLs will stimulate improved access to public transport whilst introducing sustainable mobility business models in urban and peri-urban contexts, in turn leading changes in mobility patterns and behaviours, aimed at less car-centred urban mobility systems.
