We are over-using the natural resources of the planet as if they are endless.People behave as their self-worth is only driven by their possesions and especially today's young feel to pressed to obtain goods beyond their basic needs.Unfortunately, today's teenagers have been associated with the most materialistic generation. In accordance with Horizon 2020, ""CAUTION!The Rise of the ECO-Warriors"" project will point out to promote a more resource efficient European economy and society. We aim to help our students understand global issues, see the connections to their lives and empower them to create a sustainable world. The WWF’s study Living Planet Report 2016 shows that globally we are already in overshoot consuming 30% percent more resources than the Earth can replenish each year, which isleading to deforestation, degraded soils, polluted air and water and dramatic declines in numbers of fish and other species. This is because the project will educate the participants how to build sustainable, informed communities that are economically, environmentally and socially sound and encourage them to solve how to keep our environment healthy and preserve it for the future generations. If we educate teenagers about the destructive effects of excessive consumerism, theywill of course realise the world and also their future is hung by thread.Drawing attention of them is the first and the most important step to take them action.Everybody knows well and believe that the youth can accomplish everything if they want. They can both save the world and their future.""The CREW"" project will put design thinking into practice and brainstorm big ideas to deal with more advanced topic like how to protect the Earth, our most valuable heritage for future generations. Our project having distinct activities in different transversal subjects will integrate cross-curricular teaching with problem-based,project-based and game-based learning along with projects related to the environmental issues. The teachers will define a real-life problem with activities such as “The House of Mother Nature” and ask open-ended question that drives thinking and learning. While building a prototype of a machine or device that can help solve the ocean trash problems with ""Save the Oceans""activity, the students will make real-life connections. So,the school will not be a place where they learn but instead becomes the entire experience of learning itself. In this process we will form 3 Clubs (Three Rs, Gardening and GYH)to fulfill some duties and tasks in each partner school. The activities like ""Making Own Fertilizer"" or ""Weaving Carpet"" workshops aims to build a more sustainable European Culture by celebrating the past to build our future.""Discussion events"" that will take place in LTT's will help young people to cherish their own cultural heritage, discover their diversity and enrich their lives by interacting with each other.Dance and Song performances prepared by ""GYH"" Club will solve problems like being stranger to different cultures in EuropeanUnion and explore the cultural diversity of Europe.By celebrating ""Buy Nothing Day ""students will reflect upon the ideas of consumption and waste. With ""Gardening Club"" activities', the project will also promote conscious eating behaviour and adopt a healthy nutrition as a natural part of the daily routine. The activities of the partnership include teenagers between 14-18.The project will bring together 60 teachers and 120 students from 6 different European countries(Bulgaria,Turkey,Poland,Spain,Lithuania and Portugal) to develop a set of thinking reasoning, teamwork, investigative and creative skills that they can use in all areas of their lives. The concrete objectives of the partnership are many, but they all stem from one urgent need: to make new generation friendlier and tolerant. In 24 months,6 project meetings will be held in three-month intervals. We will do 1 short term joint staff training and 5 short term exchanges of groups of pupils.Expect from 6 on-line conferences within LTTs,there will also be 10 on-line meeting events for students to share their work. Our aim is to publicize all the actions that will take place during the project. The ""CREW"" project involve both internal and external stakeholders in project activities as contributors and active participants. We will adopt a multi-strand approach to ensure our efforts are effective, so the dissemination activities will include on-line and off-line dissemination channels to make the project easily accessible and available for parents, local community and media to view. We will cooperate with the local Environmetalists, Professors and Policy Makers in every phase of the project. These people will be invited to join online and face-to-face discussion events and see concrete actions like school festivals."

FRANCESC TÀRREGAFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2017-1-ES01-KA219-038106Funder Contribution: 106,585 EUR"""Art and ICT against bullying and cyberbullying"" (A & ABC) is a project of Strategic Partnerships of cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices carried out during 24 months from 2017 to 2019. Its most important horizontal priority has been the social inclusion to which the achievement of high quality skills and competences is added as well as the development of innovative practices in the digital age.The theoretical principle on which the project has been based considers that educational institutions must guarantee the biopsychosocial well-being of the students. This principle is contradictory with the verification of the reality of bullying, and with its new version, cyberbullying, as one of the most serious problems affecting schools. It is necessary, therefore, the creation and maintenance of an institutional culture of respect for personal dignity and diversity in all its expressions. The coordinating institution of the project, based on previous experiences, confirmed how art, given its potential in the creation of a sense of community, constitutes itself as the best possible tool for the consolidation of such a culture. In addition, during the gestation of the project, it was considered that such a sense of community and respect should be projected to a European dimension given the geopolitical trends that are causing a crisis of European identity. With this background, four secondary schools in Spain, Italy, Greece and Latvia, committed to social inclusion and the culture of respect, came together to shape and develop the project. These commitments have been established as a fundamental strategic line in their respective educational projects.A & ABC has adopted a situational approach, in which many agents are usually involved, and advocates a paradigm shift in the treatment of bullying, from a punitive model to a proactive model. With all this, the project has pursued as an objective to know and understand the bullying and cyberbullying problem and to be able to attack it from different perspectives. In this way, the activities carried out have made it possible to achieve the proposed objectives fundamentally related to the culture of knowledge and respect.Such activities belong to different artistic fields: musical, visual, audiovisual, literary and photographic. The students have made a short film, an illustrated text, a video clip and a photo. Through such artistic expressions students have expressed their vision of the problem of bullying and cyberbullying and have shared their work with the entire school community, thus allowing the problem to be placed in the center of attention. Each one of the artistic manifestations has been shared by the project partners during the four learning activities meeting carried out in the respective countries and disseminated through the multiple channels that the project has used. Such dissemination has been part of the key objectives of the project given its theme. For the preparation of all the artistic productions, previous workshops were organized with expert professionals in each of the disciplines. These workshops guaranteed the quality of the productions produced by the students. In addition, during each of the mobilities with students, work sessions and reflection on the theme of the project were organized as well as cultural activities that fostered mutual knowledge, a necessary condition of the proactive approach. The participants were students selected from their participation in the workshops and the realization of artistic productions between 14 and 19 years of the four partner educational centers. Such productions have been a first tangible result with a quantitative scope. To this result has been added a register of cases of harassment and the creation of a permanent observatory of the school emotional climate. This will be articulated through the Tutorial Action Plan of the centers. There has been a direct impact for the learning of social, civic, intercultural competences, sense of initiative and critical thinking. The project has allowed all participants knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of diversity, both individual and cultural.A more horizontal treatment of the problem of bullying has taken effect in which all the public involved act interconnected. As a result of this treatment, a new methodological approach has been introduced in schools that avoids hierarchical decision-making regarding bullying. In the medium and long term the collaboration and permanent exchange with our partners of educational experiences is guaranteed. In addition, the experience and results obtained will be used in the planning of training plans for all educational sectors."

FRANCESC TÀRREGA,Copernicus-Gymnasium Löningen,Ilmara Gaisa Kokneses vidusskolaFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2019-1-IT02-KA229-062172Funder Contribution: 144,340 EURThe educational culture in many European countries is still tightly connected to traditional principles and methods. So that transmitting knowledge is often still considered the main function for schools to perform and frontal teaching is usually still seen by far as the best among all didactical methods. On the contrary, we are convinced that school should guide people along a learning path student-centered, based on their ability to raise questions, on problem-solving, on the progressive development of skills, cooperative work, authentic and meaningful experiences. This project wants to focus on Service Learning (SL), as an innovative approach to education, learning, citizenship. Relaunching John Dewey's legacy, resuming Paulo Freire's reflections, it tries to bring school outside the classrooms into the town, the social community, the surrounding territory.SL is a kind of activity student-centered, problem-based, socially engaging, motivating, cooperative, collaborative. We want to promote and spread throughout Europe this approach, able to combine several key components: the knowledge and skills developed through the school curriculum; the desire to act as a protagonist typical of the young people; the connection to real needs existing in the local community; the strength and depth of an experience that is meaningful, motivating, authentic. The European context can be seen as an added value since it will allow comparing different perspectives and sharing good practice. SE.LE.N.E. is a project conceived by a network of five European schools from different countries with diversified cultural background, geographical situation, economic conditions. They operate in Alatri (Italy), Löningen (Germany), Koknese (Latvia), Vila Real (Spain), Kalamata (Greece). All schools are general education institutions including secondary level programs. The target group for SE.LE.N.E. activities will be 15-19 years old students. All partner schools share a strong desire to experiment with SL and the commitment to do it in a European context. Yet so far their SL experience is not equally wide, deep, and rich. In fact, among the 5 participating countries, there is Spain, where many schools over the years have acquired a relevant experience with SL activities. I.E.S. Francesc Tarrega, Vila-Real, is one of them. We are eager to exchange experiences and learn from schools with expertise in SL, in order to improve our approach and introduce new ideas in our educational work.As for the project activities, SE.LE.N.E. proposes five educational experiences to be developed and implemented in different European countries. Each one features a strong connection to the school curriculum, correspondence with some real needs from the local community, focus on students' motivation to act as protagonists in changing the world for the better.Transnational groups of students and teachers will organize and implement the 5 SL experiences, working with values, key-concepts, methods, techniques, skills belonging to different spheres of civic action such as artistic expression and creativity, environmental sustainability, preservation of cultural heritage, social inclusiveness and care for disadvantaged people. Before each transnational LTT activity, participants will perform preparatory activities, communicating with European partners through widely used ICT tools, such as LMS, video conferencing, and the eTwinning platform. Each of the 5 transnational LTT activity will be developed in a 7 days time (arrival day+5 days+departure day). Traveling students will be guests at host students families.During each meeting, students and teachers will work in mixed nationality workgroups. The work of the groups will end with the achievement of concrete results such as:- maintaining a nature trail;- designing and planting a small green area;- activities with migrant children/students;- design and realization of wall paintings in school classrooms and/or furnishing equipment for a learning environment;- design and realization of graffiti painting in an urban space/park;- activities with children with learning difficulties. The project is charged with a strong pedagogical inspiration and has the ambition to clearly show in Europe the potential of an activist, motivating and student-centered educational approach. It also arises from the awareness by the participating schools to have to constantly act in a network context. A network among schools that are committed to sharing conception, implementation, monitoring. Networks which every school has to prepare and weave in its local context with groups, associations, institutions, municipalities. This necessary, intense network work sets the ideal conditions for publicizing and dissemination of results. Thus the fallout of the project could really be relevant and the practice of Service Learning could be significantly increased within the school systems of all participant countries.
