Mutual exchange, appreciation of the other’s cultural background and experiences remain low. The paradigm of the ""others"" and ""us"" determines the perception of foreigners. This often leads to the point where migrants are being perceived as a thread instead of as potential active citizens that can enrich European societies. Furthermore, national hosting societies often feel left behind by European decision makers. As a consequence, the idea of a unified European society where everybody takes an active European citizenship gets more and more replaced by nationalistic movements and xenophobia. At the same time, young refugees lack of information and orientation to build up a self-determined life in Europe, being often pushed into a passive role by the current national and European asylum system. Coming from completely different cultural and historical contexts, sometimes combined with an individual low educational background, most of them have only a rudimentary knowledge of the European Union: its history and mechanisms, the European idea and the opportunities and it offers to its (active) citizens are unknown to a recently arrived refugee. Additionally, many refugees in the EU tend to be rather confronted with the limitations the European framework (keyword: Dublin Regulation, sanctioning of secondary movements) has on their lifes. Contribution to the European idea is almost impossible in these conditions. Youth exchange programs often are not accessible for disadvantaged youth, due to socio-cultural or educational barriers or to financial reasons. Furthermore, many projects try to involve displaced youth, but often carry out a “helpers mentality” where young refugees are “victimized” instead of being empowered. Only a few projects try to create an exchange between young refugees and young locals at eye level. With TABADOL, we wanted to get active and create such an exchange platform together with other young people in Europe, in order to actively shape the positive living together of local and migrant populations. In cooperation with our Italian partner team, our main activity was to carry out the development, implementation and management of an empowerment exchange program for 30 young refugees in Witten, Germany and Bologna, Italy. Thanks to the transnational approach, we were able to learn from and support each other during the project development and implementation, which allowed us to achieve important non-formal competences and skills in project management. Thanks to additional training and seminars, we became ""Facilitators of Intercultural Cohesion"" and change-makers promoting active European citizenship among other young Europeans and refugees. With TABADOL, we follow a holistic and truly European approach, where we want to promote a European identity among young people with(out) migration biography and raise awareness on migrants’ potential to contribute to European societies as Active Citizens and to propose new forms of involvement thanks to their background."

Among others, the initiative has spread to 6 European cities and regions of learning, which Ljubljana and Cagliari recognised as an example of good practices that should be implemented in their cities. By spreading the use of this infrastructure onto two new cities, young people who live, work, study in or regularly visit these two cities will get access to territory-specific platform and its capabilities, including an interactive map, learning playlists and digital badges. Once different learning opportunities will be gathered in one place, the youth will have an overview of all the possibilities their cities have to offer, making their learning pathways more goal-oriented and their learning mobility more flexible. Once the platform is up and running, it will allow young people in Ljubljana and Cagliari to:- browse through online interactive maps of the two cities where both learning providers and learning opportunities will be mapped;- follow already designed learning playlists or create their own; and- be rewarded with digital badges for their achievements. We will achieve this aim through the following objectives:1. To transfer the existing online mapping software and good practice experience from Vilnius City of Learning to Ljubljana and Cagliari.2. To map and connect opportunities of non-formal and informal learning enabling young people to better match them with their needs, interests and passions.3. To develop capacities of local learning providers to create learning playlists - a youth friendly way to present and deliver diverse learning content online and offline with integrated recognition through open badges.4. To engage young people in identifying learning opportunities and shaping the understanding of learning according to their needs, interests and passions. The above mentioned transfer of good practices from other European countries to Slovenia and Italy will be based on conducting learning and training activities to train the staff who will be using the platform and concept of City of Learning to do so efficiently. All three activities are planned in such a way that people who have direct personal experience with designing and/or implementing the features of this online tool will be perfectly capable of managing the platform ensuring the needed levels of quality and efficacy and making it possible to populate the map with learning opportunities of the quantity and quality needed to reach the project's goals. The first activity will be a study visit to Vilnius where participants will be able to observe the use of the platform in practice. The remaining two activities will be workshops for transfer of knowledge - one on researching local needs and mapping, the other on designing learning playlists. All three activities will be attended by between 16 and 18 youth workers. Research activities will involve approximately 200 young people.Youth are growingly engaged with new technologies and digital tools and media, making digital youth work one of priorities in the youth sector. This project provides a response to these challenges by employing principles of smart youth work.

At the same time, it shed a light on the unwillingness of many sectors, especially those based on socializing, to operate in a digital environment. While working in the fields of youth and culture in 2020, five partner organizations felt the shrinking of social and creative spaces quite strongly. The common mission of all five org. is to promote youth artistic initiatives. We all observe that with the closure of spaces for young artists, the number of initiatives has also fallen sharply. However, those partners who have transferred their support activities to the digital environment to a greater extent have not suffered as much damage. The purpose of the Creative Digital Spaces project is to contribute to the higher social participation of young people by developing creative digital spaces that will operate on three levels: socializing – community building – taking initiative. In these spaces, young people will strengthen their digital competencies (as defined in the Digital competence framework) and creativity, and create (artistic) social initiatives. OBJECTIVES are:1. Young people socialize in digital spaces and use tools to develop creativity, art, and initiative.2. Through youth work and creative processes, young people acquire digital competencies and competencies for innovation.3. Through strengthening (digital) cooperation between young people at the international level, increase and strengthen their EU consciousness and active EU citizenship.4. Young people with low access to digital technologies and those with weak social capital (YWFO) improve their inclusion in society.5. Youth workers and other ""youth companions"" acquire the competencies of creating spaces for young people (facilitation, tools, methods, attitudes).6. The quality of youth work is improved through cross-sectoral networking of stakeholders.7. The cultural and youth work sectors, which have been hit hard by the Covid-19 crisis, are strengthened through the use of digital technologies and through the increasing employability of young people. As part of the project, four INTELLECTUAL RESULTS will be developed:- Toolbox with useful digital tools and tips for young initiators and artists.- Online training and a manual on setting up creative digital spaces - for youth and cultural workers.- Online training and a manual on creating a quality digital coaching / mentoring experience for young leaders of initiatives.- Manual for local communities: bringing together diverse stakeholders in the local environment to support youth initiatives. ACTIVITIESTwo mobilities will be performed to test the results:- training for young initiators, where we will answer the question of how to lead a group of young people from afar, and- training for youth workers, trainers, and coaches, where we will answer the question of how to support groups and individuals and offer them an inspiring UX in digital environments. In addition, the following activities will take place in the project, leading to results:- placement in Slovenia's presidency of the EU (the topic of the presidency overlaps almost entirely with the topic of the project),- research of needs and opportunities,- policy recommendations to support initiatives,- Two international and three local conferences,- website and project campaign.A very important part is also the mutual learning of partner organizations. PARTICIPANTS: These and other project activities will involve at least 300 different participants (more than 1000 pax in total), including the following target groups: young people facing life transitions, YWFO, youth workers and cultural workers, representatives of local institutions, representatives of youth and cultural sectors. THE IMPACT of the project on organizations and youth workers will be linked to better adaptation in times of social constraints and in times of physical and social distance, a wider geographical range of participants and new target groups, a greater presence of culture, initiative, and European citizenship. In addition, stakeholder networking will be strengthened, leading to better support for new international initiatives. Youth workers will become better facilitators of digital processes. They will use a wider range of methods, with an emphasis on creative methods and new methods that are specifically adapted for the digital environment. LONG-TERM BENEFITS: Young people will gain greater resilience to changes and new competencies for leading and managing initiatives that are strongly supported by the knowledge of digital tools. They will use a wider range of tools. All this will better develop their digital competencies and increase their employability in the youth and culture sectors in this »new reality«. The cooperation of the initiatives will be more long-lasting."

The idea here is to optimize the experience lived by young people online during a learning process that includes diverse and multicultural groups. The project assumes that virtual learning is a resourceful concept that needs to be activated fully in the next few years. Learning in an online course is not much different than learning during a virtual youth exchange. It requires active participation, self-expression and openness to learn from others. For that the project will analyze both settings (virtual exchanges and e-learning) and collect data on learning trajectories from young people to conduct a full research based on theory of E-learning and youth work practice. Another common dominator between both settings is the use of ICT (Information and communication technology) tools. When providing young people with an opportunity to participate in a virtual youth exchange, youth workers activate young people’s knowledge about ICT tools. That opens access to young people to become more ICT oriented and empower them to use it in other learning settings. The project has 7 main activities as described separately below:1) Kick-off Meeting / APV: A meeting to formally start the project. It is an opportunity for all project team members to meet and get to know each other well. 2) Meta youth exchange: The approach is to consult young people and stimulate their creativity and critical thinking on the topic of E-learning and virtual exchanges. Participants will reflect on the process of learning within a multicultural group.3) Virtual Youth Exchange (VYE) The exchange will take a non formal educational approach through exchanging perspectives, debating controversies and challenging realities about global youth empowerment, global education and its role in peace building. 4) Preparation Meeting / Mid Project Evaluation: First Content development for the coming staff training. Trainers and project team will meet to finalize the content of the training as the previous 2 events along with the research draft outputs will fine tune the training content.5) Staff Training course: This activity is a capacity building for youth workers on ICT tools and the needs of young people regarding E learning experiences (including Virtual exchanges). The training will present the potential of using virtual space for learning in youth work. 6) Evaluation / Dissemination Event: Project team will have time to reflect and evaluate the outcomes of the project, the partnership and the sustainability of results. 7) ResearchThis is an extended activity throughout the entire project timeline. It aims to produce the intellectual output of the project which is a publication on facilitating a virtual learning experience in youth work context.

It is viewed as necessary attribute for contributing effectively to both economic and social domains in a rapidly changing landscape. Most frameworks for creativity development focus on either individual creativity and innovation, or methodologies, such as design thinking. The framework we propose to innovate within this project combines these approaches and in addition, connects the success of creative behaviours with the success of learning behaviours. This innovative approach has more potential to efficiently raise the creative competence of individuals and organisations, sustainably over time and views creativity as a learning-based outcome, rather than a characteristic or personal trait. Creativity can be learnt. We aim to increase the quality of youth work and youth training activities in Europe by developing a creative readiness assessment tool and a methodology framework for creative development. Kinetic@Work enables youth workers to support young people in developing their creativity skills, thanks to which they will better be able to find their own path and their place on the labour market of tomorrow: fit for the future. Besides the employability aspect, developing creative skills and a creative confidence gives youth workers and educators access to means to reach out and to approach marginalized young people in a different way, to better contribute to the prevention of radicalization and intolerance among youth, thus fighting against contemporary radical tendencies in Europe. The project involves 32 participants directly in the teaching and learning activities, and we a broader range of our target group will be reached through all activities designed for co-creating and testing the Assessment tool, visibility and dissemination. Total number of persons directly involved: 48 people. Activities: -An 8-day training course serves as a pilot of the Assessment Tool and an evaluation of Kinetic Creativity as methodology in NFE. The Course is about improving core competencies for contemporary educational practice including: Visual Facilitation, Digital Tools and Learning Analytics, Reducing Complexity and Reflection. The structure of the training course is unique for education: competition for volume and novelty of ideas. -An Upskilling and Evidence Collection seminar with past participants and collaborators involved with the original idea of Kinetic Creativity. We will obtain evidence of current practice using Kinetic Creativity associated methods. As most components of the framework will be innovated and developed during this project, we will give our past collaborators the chance to Upskill during this short face-to-face seminar of 3 days.Kinetic@Work will adopt a design science approach and using non-formal educational methodology and approach throughout the four stages of the project, implemented over the course of 26 months. As working methodology within the team, we will use the principles of co-design in order to ensure a maximum level of participation and collaboration, and we will also walk our talk and use some of the Kinetic Creativity methods when it is appropriate in the process.By the end of this project we expect to achieve the following specific objectives and results:1. To create an assessment tool for youth workers, youth leaders, trainers and young people to measure their creative readiness and provide a baseline for activities using Kinetic Creativity as a framework for creative development. 2. To develop and implement an 8-day training course as a pilot for testing the assessment tool and the methodology of Kinetic@Work. 3. An Upskilling and Evidence Collection seminar with past participants and collaborators involved with creativity development.4. To co-design and implement an appropriate research structure to evaluate the impact of Kinetic@Work.5. To create a practitioner-focused Book that summarizes and transfers the key messages from Kinetic Creativity, offers ready-to-use methodology for youth workers and to disseminate this to a wider audience than has been previously achieved. 6. To provide visual documentation of the Kinetic Creativity process, thereby to improve validity of our research through transparency and triangulation. In addition, to disseminate this information to a wider audience than has been previously achieved. As long-term benefits, the implementation of the project will: - promote the use of assessment tools and raise awareness about the importance of measuring non-formal learning and evidence based impact assessment in youth work. - improve the competencies of youth workers, teams of partner organisations and thus through them the project impacts the competencies of young people. - contribute to the employability and adaptability of young people as indirect beneficiaries.
