"The URB_ART project is a response to the COVID19 crisis that has inhibited intercultural exchange and severely affected the cultural and educational sectors. This project aims to support low-skilled adults in marginalized communities through activities and concepts of Urban Arts Education. Possible on-going pandemic constraints and changes will be considered in the project by implementing innovative formats of (digital) education, communication, participation, dissemination, etc. To achieve these goals, the consortium will carry out activities to manifest Urban Arts Education as a tool for social inclusion.URB_ART will stimulate social inclusion and empowerment processes through its project activities and results. By providing scientific studies, technical literature, further trainings, and audio-visual toolkits on the potentials of Urban Arts Education, a sustainable awareness of the different target groups shall be created. The definition of Urban Arts Education is based on the conceptual triangle of arts education, urban adult education and urban arts. Thus, it encompasses the creative and personal development of the individual as well as the understanding of regional and international arts and culture in large, densely populated urban areas with a diverse population. Dealing with arts in the community of low-qualified adults from marginalized groups overcomes socio-cultural barriers and provides access to new social groups. Here, transdisciplinary art disciplines function as communication instruments for intercultural dialogue and social integration. URB_ART will incorporate linguistic concepts such as metro- and multilingualism to classify and implement an intercultural dialogue.URB_ART makes use of the correlation of these three concepts by realizing five project activities that build on each other:IO1: The ""Baseline Survey on Transdisciplinary and Multilingual Urban Arts Education"" will formulate national and transnational needs and challenges regarding marginalization in the fields of culture and education as well as success indicators with regard to Urban Arts Education, taking into account concepts of transdisciplinarity, metro- and multilingualism.IO2: The ""Compendium of Storytelling Resources Through Urban Arts Education"" aims to list success stories for transdisciplinary and multilingual Urban Arts Education based on the Baseline Survey. In this way, the Compendium will create specific knowledge about the resources of storytelling through urban arts and empower cultural and educational actors.IO3: The ""In-Service Training Package on Urban Arts Education"" offers opportunities for further education for adult education providers and community actors. The results generated from IO1 and IO2 are conveyed in a practice-oriented manner in training courses in all five partner countries, whereby the results and recommendations can be directly integrated into the thinking and actions of those involved in practice.IO4: The ""Toolkit of Video Case Studies on Community Urban Arts"" aims to present media-based successful transnational practices for the inclusion of marginalized communities in urban arts programmes and initiatives.IO5: The ""Policy Paper on Promoting Urban Arts Education"" deals with the potentials of Urban Arts Education regarding social inclusion. The aim is to develop operational and policy recommendations for decision-makers and policymakers in the fields of culture, education, and social affairs. In addition to these outputs, the partner consortium will regularly organize transnational meetings, a transnational staff-member training, national multiplier events to disseminate the project results and a European Symposium, to which policy-makers and stakeholders will be invited. In the project activities, artists will be directly involved to actively build a bridge between the educational and the creative sectors. The partner consortium consists of five non-governmental organizations from the United Kingdom, Iceland, Slovenia, Portugal, and Austria. In addition to the project partners, other stakeholders are directly and indirectly addressed by this project:1) associated adult and community educators, social workers, professionals from the cultural sector2) low-skilled adults in marginalized communities3) independent arts educators and artists of different art disciplines4) policymakers and decision-makersWith this transnational and transdisciplinary approach, URB_ART breaks down social barriers in times of COVID19 and promotes social inclusion through the concept of Urban Arts Education. URB_ART offers further training possibilities for associated adult and community educators, social workers, professionals from the artistic and cultural sector as well as for independent arts educators and artists of different art disciplines to establish access to culture and education and to achieve empowerment for low-skilled adults in marginalized urban communities."

The COVID-19 epidemic is having a fundamental impact on the European cultural and creative industry which is especially true for vulnerable groups like artists with minority background. To reduce the damage and draw attention to the problem, we want to create a cross-sectoral educational cooperation that introduces the culture and art of European minorities (religious, linguistic, ethnic, cultural) to young people through innovative and creative art educational methods. Our project has two main objectives: strengthen the creativity and socio-education of youth with online audiovisual production, and support the minority members of the European cultural sector with creative social media campaigns. We live in a social-media dominated world, which is particular true to the younger generations who were born into the digital world. The youth need to be taught how to orient themselves in this virtual space to acquire life and to be able to create real value in it. The program helps the preparation for innovative digital education under which we place particular emphasis on the development of digital and creative skills and competencies of the participants by tweaking of audiovisual content, refine the specificities of new media phenomena (how to be a value-oriented influencer) with individual needs and the novel use of art education in an online collaboration space. Moreover, the EU is a mosaic of cultures and traditions forming a community of diverse citizens united by their common core values. Every European minority is an integral part of this mosaic; cultural heritage is recognized as an important expression of cultural diversity that deserves protection.Target groups of the project: European youth, people working with youth, European artists or art groups with minority background. Indirect target groups: European minorities, members of the European creative and cultural industry (audiovisual and other), general public. We would like to reach minimum 345 people directly and 5000 indirectly in Europe. The expected objectives of the project:- to strengthen solidarity and tolerance in European youth- to help in preserving the traditions and culture of European minorities and nationalities- to support the European cultural and creative industry with innovative online campaigns and practical creative skills development of youth- to develop a voluntary and self-support online educational network for youth and citizens with minority backgrounds in a long-term- to help educators working with youth to prepare their group members for the global and social challenges in the futureIn order to reach our expected results, partners will create specific EDUfluencer activities and outputs, able to be adapted by any stakeholder, based in the following elements:-EDUfluencer Course for Creativity and Preserving Culture: developing the knowledge and skills of people working with youth in the fields of boosting creativity and social inclusion with innovative art education.-EDUfluencer Minority Culture Descriptor: standardized tool to learn about the culture and tradition of European minorities in detail-EDUfluencer Guidance for Audiovisual Production: to boost quality and innovation of youth work that support the creative potential of youth, and improve audiovisual production skills and competences-EDUfluencer Creative Workshop: put learned theory into practice and test it, creating short videos about local minority artists/art groups-EDUfluencer Public Awareness Campaign: a unique audio-visual based social media campaign utilizing innovative digital technologies designed and run by the young people together with the invited minority artistsRelated activities to test the outputs:-Pilot course for youth workers -Pilot workshops for youthRelated multiplier and cultural events:-EDUfluences Film Festival and Youth Conference (in Hungary)-EDUfluencer National Seminars (in four other countries)With the implementation of the project we expect the following impacts on the various levels:- Enhance social commitment and acceptance of diversity- More resilient and well-prepared European creative and cultural sector- Develop media-literacy, creativity and conscious use of social media- Promotion of equity and inclusion of European minorities

"The project aimed to respond strategically to support migrant adults recently settled in the EU that still face barriers to integrate with wider Europeans. However, despite efforts to follow common principles to guide and improve EU integration Member States have widely different approaches. Migrants often face an identity crisis, sometimes torn between their original culture and host country; often not speaking the language or knowing how to integrate socio-economically. They face multiple barriers and experience all the difficulties and challenges such as low self-esteem, lack of confidence, search of themselves and their future, inter-generational problems added to being in a new country and lacking peer support and feeling lost (Migrants in Europe, EUROSTAT 2011). To address this issue partners from five countries - UK, France, Estonia, Italy and Greece - created ""Focus on multimedia: competencies in adult education"" Strategic Partnership project with the aims to developing initiatives addressing spheres of adult education and exchange of experience and good practices in inclusion of migrants via multimedia literacy. Partners enhanced the professional development of educators working in the field of adult education. The project team sustained the creation of multimedia learning pathways in line with educators' needs for the empowerment of migrants and vulnerable groups by strengthening their multimedia literacy abilities as a mean of inclusion. The specific objectives of this project were to:1. Exchange experience and good multimedia practices among partners so as to extend and develop educators' competences;2. Build and strengthen relationships among a network of education and training organisations at local and EU levels who can benefit from improved learning about reaching particularly disenfranchised communities;3. Promote migrant, asylum seeker and newly arrived migrant integration while enhancing activities to support equality, diversity and inclusion in EU countries at local community level;4. Support creativity in EU integration of migrant groups via multimedia practices. The consortium will contribute to the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme by reinforcing network of organisations, increasing capacity to operate at transnational level, share ideas, best practices and methods. During this Strategic Partnership participants will learn how to assist migrants to be active and responsible citizens - play an important role in today's EU. Consequently, organisations will foster quality improvement in adult training at EU level by sharing experiences and methods of engaging migrants by developing and implementing multimedia practices across organisations and countries. There were three face-to-face transnational meetings in France, Estonia and Greece and one online meeting due COVID-19 and one training course in the UK. The methodology of the transnational project meetings and short-term joint staff training event were based on the principles of non-formal education mixed with multimedia activities. Activities included in the overall workshops about multimedia and video production, presentations, sharing of good practices, testing new methods and instruments of non-formal learning, group dynamics, brainstorming, networking, self-assessment and reflection exercises. The project was designed to achieve an increased impact on adult educators, staff members, partner organisations, associated partners and on the local target groups as final beneficiaries. Participants improved their competences in intercultural dialogue, working with migrants and other groups facing social exclusion and unemployment. In parallel partners exchanged good practices which helped to enrich daily work by delivering high quality workshops. The final beneficiaries were migrants, unemployed, neet, people coming from areas furthest from the labour market that are most at risk of social exclusion. The project supported on the local level a group of 30 participants with fewer opportunities and also other local adult learners involved in the project activities. There were intangible results – competences of participants and tangible results E-toolkit and video that made the project results sustainable. Project video and E-Toolkit are available on the Internet. E-Toolkit will be constantly added with new materials from project partner organisations. The project after-effect established cross-sectoral cooperation of organisations as well as further cooperation on new projects. Partners plan to apply with new Erasmus+ project which will include intellectual outputs."

The ‘Women in the Media’ project will promote the empowerment of women as it will contribute to critical change in their lives and promote their involvement in an under represented industrial and commercial sector – The Creative Industries.According to ‘Unlocking the potential of cultural and creative industries; 2010’ Within Europe there is a lot of untapped potential in the cultural and creative industries to create growth and jobs. To do so, Europe must identify and invest in new sources of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth drivers to take up the baton. Much of our future prosperity will depend on how we use our resources, knowledge and creative talent to spur innovation. Building on our rich and diverse cultures, Europe must pioneer new waysAccording to the recommendations of an EU Report - Gender Equality in the Media Sector DG Internal Policies (2018)) ….’ … A key priority must be to counteract the discriminatory norms and attitudes, including unconscious biases that contribute to ongoing failures to address gender inequality effectively. Social campaigns, education programmes, and more targeted training and awareness-raising (including for industry decision-makers) to promote egalitarian values and practices should be supported through funding and promotion at the national and European level. Industry decision-makers should be made aware of the business case for more gender equal and diverse workforces in media industries; namely, that the resulting media content is likely to appeal to a wider variety of consumers…’The statistics collected by Skillset and Women in Film and Television show that the presence of female voices on television and screen has been steadily declining since 2006. The reports on gender Equalities for directors in the European film industry (2006-2013) shows that is a significant under-representation of female directors in all level of film industry; Only one in 5 films in 7 European countries is directed by woman. The vast of majority funding (84%) go into films that are not directed by woman. The high proportion of female graduates shows that the talent exists but the potential is not fully exploited by the industry. The project will initially Map the existing situation in relation to women in the media, particular woman in FILM MAKING and highlight areas of good practice. This will give a clearer picture of the current situation on women and employment opportunities in the FILM MAKING sector of the creative industries.Following the Mapping exercise the project will develop a suite of on-line training materials specifically designed to help women understand the diverse nature of the cultural sector, what skills and jobs are needed and through digital training equip the woman with a selection of those skills. For example, the project will cover; a route to careers in video editing and writing and presenting for film, TV and radio. The project will also develop an Internet-based Platform to provide on-line support and interventions as they are a vital link in the horizon of integrated services for women in the creative industries to enhance their progress and their inclusion in this under-represented sector. The content of the Platform will support and promote the training programme for women. By developing a new Platform of access, information and multidisciplinary support a holistic support and training package for women can be achieved. The Project will directly impact the communities of women, teachers/trainers and professionals and tutors involved and stakeholders interested in the development of skills in the cultural sector. In the short term, the Project will also raise the awareness of both training centres and public authorities that have to implement this area for women. It is envisaged that the project will reach around 2,000 women throughout Europe via a wide range of targeted dissemination activities.
