The project was about working on different UNESCO related topics with students from another country. Through this collaboration the participants could develop and improve key competences like cooperative learning, organisational skills, critical thinking, responsibility and self esteem. It furthermore broadened their knowledge about the topics that were worked on. Additionally, the collaboration with the partner school involved improving their language and networking skills. The established relationships hopefully last a life time. The 17 sustainable development goals by the UNESCO offered many different interesting topics to be discussed in class. We discussed them in classes like History, Biology and Spanish and German as foreign languages with the partner school, because it fits in the curricula and it was easy to foster language learning. Especially in Biology students worked on environmental issues such as energy consumption, climate change, water shortage and climate protection. The students in both schools came up with ideas what to do in order to stop climate change. In History the main emphasis of the collaboration was put on the discussion of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Why are these areas so important? What are the essential differences between the areas that are part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in Austria and the ones in Spain? Which other cultures have influenced the development of these countries? These questions were also discussed in the foreign language classes so that the students learned more about the culture of the other country. The project was further expanded on the subject Art, where the students worked on the design for a project related board game. As the collaboration was between a bilingual German school in Seville and a school in Knittelfeld, in which Spanish is taught as a main subject, the project languages were German and Spanish. The participants of both schools were students, attending the 10th grade in the school year 2018/19. The highlight of the project was the time spent with the students from the respective other country. The Austrian students could not take the trip to Seville due to coronavirus. The participants of the trip to Knittelfeld were the 10th graders attending the bilingual German form of IES San Isidoro in Seville. The main goals of the journey were visiting areas that are part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage and the improvement of the students’ language skills. Moreover, the students got the opportunity to be part of another culture. Through this experience they could truly understand the benefits of being a European citizen. The skills, the students acquired throughout the project, can be useful in their later lives and through the close contact to students of another country, they got rid of their fear of speaking in another language and got more confident. The UNESCO related topics were discussed in class. The participants, for example, prepared presentations about places that are part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in their area in foreign language classes.Furthermore, they prepared activities for the students of the other school. During and after the project results were presented to other students, parents and teachers at open days, the Erasmusdays and other school events.

During this project, the pupils from three European schools from three different countries (Spain, Turkey and France), will work on the evolution of women’s rights during the twentieth century. Although each partner comes with its cultural and historical specificities, we are strongly convinced that the matter is a European priority as a way to make our societies equalitarian and just. We intend to begin our research from the reality of our students on the matter: their point of view as the starting point. The history of each country will then lead them to reflect upon the matter through visits, exchanges and debates. We hope that they perceive the undeniable importance of the matter of gender equality as being one of the main social struggles, to fight and thus turn our students in to ambassadors of the cause for a greater justice in future societies. To reach this goal we have decided to work with an equal number of students from each country thus making the cultural and linguistic exchanges as challenging and fulfilling for everyone. Our work groups will always be composed of students from each countries and their collaboration will be necessary on almost every project. This will lead our students to a feeling of a European community created by the regularity of working together. Learning how to work with people who speak another language and who have a different culture and different work habits, will both be challenging and enriching. This project will come together thanks to three trips in each partner country. The hosting country will be the leader of the pedagogical action happening there, but all will be a part of it. Indeed, as each partner will be responsible for a major task: -The first trip is taking place in France. Prior to that, ALL of the students will conduct interviews with their relatives in their mother tongues, and work on writing the subtitles in ENGLISH, so that we can exploit the results all together. -The second trip will take place in Turkey. The second major project is to conduct a workshop on caricatures, illustrating both the clichés of women’s representation in society, and the advancements that need to be done shortly in order to reach gender equality. We feel that such a task will both enable our students to express their artistic side, and also work on their analytical skills with a striking slogan. We have worked on the themes of science and sports, both setting a scene for clichés. Our students danced or boxed and it openened the dialogue for debates -The third and final trip couldn't take place due to the sanitary crisis. Our project stopped with the different measures taken in every country. Our project is lacking its conclusion and last part. All throughout this project, we wish for outside participants to intervene. All of them from different cultural and social background (women football club, associations struggling for women’s right … ) so that our students can have a global and general vision of the subject at heart here. The cooperation of most of our partners, the globalization of our work together, all of those aspects to create a sense of community, a sense that gender equality is everyone's concern.

"""Europe Our Future"" is about reminding adults and teaching young people about the ""European Dream"", increasing their knowledge of E.U. achievements and functions and interesting people in itsfuture, promoting transnational mobilities for young generations and increasing competencies in our first foreign language: English.Presented by Lycée Pierre Termier in Grenoble (France), this partnership involves 4 other schools: Gymnasium Plomariou in Lesbos (Greece), ISIS E. Stein in Gavirate (Italy), Skofiska Gimnasija in Vipava (Slovenia) and IES San Isidoro in Sevilla (Spain). We will analyse and debate with the students about the school and jobs systems of the partner countries as well as their social inclusion policies or the issues of E.U. citizenship, gender issues.. This way, we hope that, in developing a growing awareness of the political, social... issues, we will contribute to their knowledge of the E.U. and build a real European citizenship in our schools and a new generation of European actors.Students will come from 5 high schools for 5 international meetings. They will prepare each mobility by studying -with the help of their teachers and with other students- the current topic characteristics in their country, then they will meet, exchange, compare... with the help of experts. Reports will be drawn in the form of oral presentations to classes, special issues and articles in the schools newspapers and other supports (videos, exhibitions). Coming back, they will communicate with their fellow students and- when possible- with students from neighbouring schools, on what they learnt during the activities, and so increase the number of interested parties. Students will develop their communications skills: preparing and delivering speeches, organising debates and interviews, reporting..., increase their interest in the E.U and discover the cultural treasures of the partner countries while improving their practice of the English language. We hope this project will be an example of what cooperation, good will and personal involvement can achieve and so reinforce the European Identity and Institutions."
