To alleviate the limitations of existing solutions, AVALANCHE aims to make transformative steps towards the development of a highly innovative, holistic, multi-disciplinary, high-tech, and versatile solution for significantly increasing/broadening the operational capabilities of LEAs in their struggle to detect, analyse, track, investigate and prevent cross-border illicit activities of high-risk criminal networks, migrant smuggling, firearms, drugs, child exploitation, terrorism, cyber and intellectual property crime coordinated through the digital world. Building on Pillars I and II, the AVALANCHE platform will offer tools for semi-automatic collection of evidence to foster explainable investigations and reasoning through intelligence-led methods and contextual-aware gleaning of actions. Also, building on Pillar III, the AVALANCHE platform will provide interoperable systems and interconnection with national and international databases through common standards, data and schemas alignment, and mediation to foster information exchange and international cooperation. To guarantee the wide SMEs solutions adoption by the actual practitioners, AVALANCHE will produce training curricula, benchmark with Europol’s Innovation Lab, contribute to LEAs operational standards and establish a broad ecosystem of crime-relevant stakeholders, and complement its objectives by continuously receiving guidance from the EU Policy Instrument (EMPACT). Finally, AVALANCHE will validate the integrated platform through a demonstration in diverse business scenarios of HP that cover key operational domains (from cross-border illicit activities to antisemitism, and more) with notable societal and market impact.

To meet the targets and ambition set out by EU Circular Economy policies and actualise circular value chains as a competitive advantage, DigiCirc will empower SMEs to leverage digital technology as a key enabler for innovative circular products/ services, processes and business models. To this end, DigiCirc will create and coordinate the DigiCirc innovation network, facilitated by an engagement campaign of 3 partner clusters, to bring together a wide-spectrum of ‘triple-helix’ stakeholders (local/ regional authorities, big industry actors, SMEs, RTOs, civil society, etc.). 3 strategic high-growth domains will be in scope (Circular Cities, Bioeconomy, Blue Economy), each represented by a leading cluster in the field. The Ecosystem will lay the foundation for a holistic, dynamic and cross-border/sector open space for innovation, implement through the DigiCirc accelerators (3 calls, one in each target domain). The accelerators will be run by innovation support experts to transform validated concepts into robust business models towards a commercial launch. This will involve (i) tailored business support: courses and coaching; (ii) identifying and establishing strategic partnerships (facilitated by a dedicated Matchmaking Tool) to create complementary consortia (thematic & SMEs with a LSD enabler partner, e.g. industry, local government); (iii) two circular data platforms to simplify data use and integration across complex value chains and environments thus boosting circular business plans and concepts. Finally, A DigiCirc Roadmap will be drafted to define the path for digital-enabled circular innovation in the 3 domains, the way-forward for each of the clusters to seize upon knowledge gained and identify/define concrete sustainability options for the DigiCirc innovation network.

However, accounting for C capture is largely based on manual methodologies that cannot be easily scaled. The consortium has found a strong market need for a streamlined solution that can be scaled to meet the growing needs of C capture from Land Use, Land Use Change, and Forestry (LULUCF). AgriCapture seizes upon Earth Observation – free and open Copernicus data in particular – to deliver a highly innovative, flexible, and scalable solution for soil C capture projects/initiatives, targeting 1 of the 2 only potential mass C sinks through proven and increasingly popular practices (i.e. Reg Agri). AgriCapture will develop a systematic, robust and flexible platform for quantifying, verifying, and promoting soil C capture, allowing (i) farmers and other landowners to become “carbon farmers”, (ii) food companies to offset their carbon foot print and offer "zero carbon" products, and (iii) certifying organizations to scale up and automatize their processes. This will be accomplished through a co-creation approach with target users – agricooperatives, an agri-processor, a Reg Agri certifier, and an emission balance certifying organisation – within 5 diverse use cases located across Europe. To support uptake of project results, the project will establish a European Reg Agri Community, which will be used to raise awareness of Reg Agri as a high-potential approach to meeting climate pledges, to coordinate and empower farmers as agents of climate mitigation, and to inform product launch of AgriCapture through first-hand market information and a direct channel to potential customers. Finally, the project will also undertake dedicated activities to assess, identify and proactively pursue market opportunities, which will lead to several contracts for post-project service provision by the end of the project.
