The NCAS Facility for Ground based Atmospheric Measurements (FGAM) provides scientific facilities for scientists and researchers across the UK to enable excellent atmospheric science on a national scale. FGAM manages, maintains and operates state-of-the-art instrumentation for use on the ground and onboard research aircraft. The facility is an integral part of the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) facilitating the study of atmospheric processes by the national and international research community. It's role is to makes ground and airborne observations, runs and/or works with atmospheric observatories and performs laboratory and calibration studies. FGAM Instrument Scientists (ISs) each run a specific instrument(s) to: facilitate non-specialist use; maintain and run equipment; ensure quality of data; and archive data at the British Atmospheric Data Centre (BADC).
