Technology is evolving every day. Parents and (pre-school) teachers are confronted with the fact that the children and young people in their care are using technology and are moving in virtual worlds that the adults responsible for them can hardly comprehend. However, the question arises HOW they are using it, whether they are able to digest the contents, and whether they are aware of the dangers and pitfalls lurking in the digital world and how to deal with these at different age levels. In its resolution ""Shaping digital education policy"" of 25 March 2021, the European Parliament suggests to ""introduce digital technologies in a learner-focused, age-appropriate and development-oriented way"" insisting that ""digital learning strategies need to take into account research on the effects that early use of digital technology may have on the development of young children"".This strongly resonates with values and beliefs shared among all partners in this project. At the end of their school career, all pupils should be able to use the full range of analogue and digital media properly for their own education, participation in civil society and the labour market, whereas the timing and form of using digital media in education should be closely aligned with the developmental phases of children. Therefore, parents, teachers and researchers have joined their resources, and aim to work towards helping children and youngsters become resilient and media mature citizens who can make their own informed choices on HOW they use digital technology. The project will result in five tangible results: a website, a framework curriculum, school policy guidelines, trainings for teachers and webinars for parents.Using the wide dissemination reach of formal and associated partners, the project results will have a Europe-wide impact on the target groups."

MAGPIE accelerates the introduction of green energy carriers (batteries, hydrogen, ammonia, BioLNG and methanol) combined with realisation of logistic optimisation in ports through automation and autonomous operations. The main objective of MAGPIE is to demonstrate technical, operational, and procedural energy supply and digital solutions in a living lab environment to stimulate green, smart, and integrated multimodal transport and ensure roll out through the European Green Port of the Future Master Plan and dissemination and exploitation activities. A living lab approach is applied in which technological and non-technological innovations are developed or demonstrated. Innovations demonstrated are: On-site BioLNG production; Smart Energy Systems; Shore power peak shaving; Port digital twin (GHG tooling and energy matching); Ammonia bunkering; Offshore charging buoy; Autonomous e-barge and transhipment; Green energy container for inland shipping; Hybrid shunting locomotive; Green connected trucking; Spreading of road traffic; Non-technological innovations to increase the use of green energy. Demonstrators will lead into the Master Plan for the European Green including a roadmap and handbook for implementation. To increase the reach and exploitation of the project results, stakeholders will be in the project through stakeholder consultation groups, targeted communication and dissemination activities. Technical collaborations will be set up with other actions to multiply the results of MAGPIE and of the other actions.

The matching between the advanced CCAM use cases and the expected benefit of 5G will be tested during trials on 5G corridors in different EU countries as well as China and Korea. Those trials will allow running evaluation and impact assessments and defining also business impacts and cost/benefit analysis. As a result of these evaluations and also internation consultations with the public and industry stakeholders, 5G-MOBIX will propose views for new business opportunity for the 5G enabled CCAM and recommendations and options for the deployment. Also the 5G-MOBIX finding in term of technical requirements and operational conditions will allow to actively contribute to the standardisation and spectrum allocation activities. 5G-MOBIX will evaluate several CCAM use cases, advanced thanks to 5G next generation of Mobile Networks. Among the possible scenarios to be evaluated with the 5G technologies, 5G-MOBIX has raised the potential benefit of 5G with low reliable latency communication, enhanced mobile broadband, massive machine type communication and network slicing. Several automated mobility use cases are potential candidates to benefit and even more be enabled by the advanced features and performance of the 5G technologies, as for instance, but not limited to: cooperative overtake, highway lane merging, truck platooning, valet parking, urban environment driving, road user detection, vehicle remote control, see through, HD map update, media & entertainment.
