Only a few organisations that are dealing with youth work were prepared for this kind of events in the society. Others don’t have knowledge, skills and experience needed to adapt educational work to online surrounding. Many youth workers are facing lack of the skills and knowledge needed to develop educational activity. When consortium was preparing previous application, in the research that we have done by contacting 245 youth work organisations from different networks in which 4 project partners are participating during August 2020, we have identified following issues:46% of youth workers have never developed their own educational activity, but have rather used already existing educational workshops,58% of youth workers think that they don’t have enough knowledge, skills and experience to develop educational workshops,28% of youth workers have been developing educational workshops, out of which 18% think they haven’t fully reached their initially planned learning objectives,62% of organisations don’t have needed knowledge and skills for adapting educational work with youth to online surrounding,From 32% of organisations who have done some kind of educational work with youth by using online surroundings, only 12% were able to develop educational online courses,Only 24% of organisations promote their work and target participants by using digital marketing,52% of organisations would be more than happy to use the online marketing tools in order to engage with higher number of youth to participate in their educational activities, but they state that they are not able to find practical advises and tools on how to use digital marketing in youth work,69% of organisations would use photography as a tool for promoting their activities, but they don’t know how to use it.When we developed and adjusted this project proposal, the consortium contacted the same 245 youth workers with the same questions in order to compare answers and analyse if things changed in the meanwhile. We received 216 answers and the most significant change we noticed is:- Double more (64%) have done some kind of educational work with youth by using online surroundings, but almost the same number of them were able to develop educational online courses. This is showing us that due to “new normal Covid-19 reality”, more and more organizations are forced to implement their regular youth work online, but they are still lacking the same skills, competences and knowledge to develop structured online courses and educational activities.Project intends to merge two different fields – digital online field and field of youth work and non-formal education. These two fields are not seen a lot of times working together in the field of non-formal education in European youth work. Partners have previously researched for needs of developing other projects in field of digital education and have found that there are also other related initiatives in Europe, one of them being “DIG-IT UP” education of youth workers aiming to provide digital learning tools to be used in daily work with young people (supported/hosted by several NAs so far, Italian being one of them). While DIG-IT UP focuses on face-to face education of youth workers, our project goes beyond it and will set quality and sustainable e-learning course on the topics that are covering also general topics of digital youth work (as DIG-IT UP), as well as more specific and complex topics related to digitalisation and gamification of youth work. Thus, our project is both innovative and complementary to the existing DIG-IT UP initiative and has potential to reach more beneficiaries thanks to the e-learning courses.<< Objectives >>Learning in Youth Work of 21st century, as an initiative developed by consortium covering areas of Germany, Balkan region and Scandinavia region, plans to achieve following objectives:- Bring positive and long-lasting effects on participating organisations and sector of youth work by enhancing knowledge management with new innovative resources for development of educational activities within youth work and training models/curricula in order to provide quality youth work educational activities that will address needs of each specific target group.- Support youth workers and educational trainers in acquiring and developing key competences as youth trainers (of other youth workers) in the field of developing and using e-learning materials and online courses in youth work; and marketing strategies and tools for higher involvement and promotion of activities for youth.- Engage into intensive dissemination and exploitation activities of existing and newly produced products and attract more youth organisations and youth workers on using the new innovative tools and approaches, and thus increase quality and quantity of educational youth work activities.Partnership consortium was carefully built in order to use already existing excellent practices and expertise of involved partners for development of new educational activities and materials for the sector of youth work and youth organisations. Each of the partners has specific expertise which will be combined with expertise of other consortium members in order to produce new approaches and methods for combining online and offline educational activities; thus enriching the sector of youth work with new easily transferable skills and knowledge of youth workers. Intensive dissemination of the developed materials and involvement of youth workers across Europe (both EU and non-EU countries) is ensured through partners already established influence in the local communities and regions. YP DE will involve youth workers across Germany and neighbouring countries in the online and offline dissemination of developed materials and approaches. YP SE will involve youth workers across the Scandinavia, and IRCD and Realization will involve youth workers from Balkan region in dissemination and further use (and hopefully further development) of the materials. This transnational cooperation aims to contribute to the higher preparedness and skills of youth workers to respond to the current needs of the society while being able to actively engage young people.<< Implementation >>Main project activities can be categorised into following sections:-Transnational meetings (2 meetings; 1 preparatory and 1 evaluation meeting)-Development of educational materials and online learning courses (3 manuals and 3 online learning courses)-Educational trainings for youth workers, based on the developed educational materials (3 trainings throughout the project implementation)-Follow-up activities and piloting of developed materials in 4 countries / local communities where partner organisations are based-4 national conferences (Sweden, Germany, Croatia and Serbia) in format of 1 day multiplier events; for sharing developed materials and results of activities.Flow of the implementation of project activities, summarised list:-Signing contract of YP DE with German NA -Signing bilateral agreements between applicant and other partners -Preparatory meeting. Tools for administrative and financial, communication and time management monitoring will be agreed. Updating the calendar of the activities. Agreement on the next steps within the project. -Development of R1 -Implementation of LTTA1 -Development of R2 -Follow up activities to be implemented by participants of previous LTTA in their local communities, and by youth workers involved in development of R1-Development of R3-Implementation of LTTA2 -Development of R4-Follow up activities to be implemented by participants of previous LTTA in their local communities, and by youth workers involved in development of R3-Development of R5-Implementation of LTTA3-Development of R6-Follow up activities to be implemented by participants of previous LTTAs in their local communities, and by youth workers involved in development of R5. -National Multipliers events – 1 per partner organisation/country; 4 in total. -Final evaluation project meeting.-Reporting.<< Results >>Intellectual outputs/results: 1) Manual “How to design learning experience” is innovative resource which covers the topic of designing and developing learning experience in a way that is easy to understand and implement with different target groups and for different learning surroundings (online, offline and combined). All intellectual outputs will serve as quality improvement of knowledge management in youth (work) organisations, as they will allow for easy and quality multiplication of knowledge and practices described and for future education and empowerment of youth workers Intellectual outputs will be produced in English language, and manuals will be translated into Swedish, Croatian, German and Serbian languages; which will increase the user- friendliness of the results. In addition, when it comes to the results, these are some of the expected results with an overview in number of activities/participants/outputs: - Over 40 multipliers (youth workers, volunteers and management staff – 10 from each country) will be using our intellectual outputs in their youth work and testing their effectiveness locally both personal and on organisational level. - 75 youth trainers and coordinators, participants at the LTTAs will be directly empowered for developing quality education of other youth workers for improvement of educational activities and engagement in online educational surrounding. They will further (during and after the project) organise small multiplication trainings in their sending organisations, with each having at least 5-10 additional youth workers participating. This will result in around 300-350 youth work providers empowered and encouraged to use the developed intellectual outputs in their work. - Over 160 local multipliers introduced to the intellectual outputs during the 4 multipliers’ events in the 4 project countries. These multiplier events will be conferences inviting youth workers, youth organisations, youth clubs and key stakeholders in respective country to present project outcomes and engage them in discussion of the perspectives of youth work in the 21st century.
