A vast amount of Earth Observation data is produced daily and made available through online services and repositories. Contemporary and historical data can be retrieved and used to power existing applications, to foster innovation and finally improve the EU citizens’ lives. However, an undersizedaudience follows this activity, leaving huge volumes of valuable information unexploited. EO4EU aims to provide innovative tools, methodologies and approaches that would assist a wide spectrum of users, from domain experts and professionals to simple citizens to benefit from EO data. EO4EU strives to deliver dynamic data mapping and labelling based on AI adding FAIRness to the system and data. EO4EU introduces an ecosystem for holistic management of EO data, bridging the gap among domain experts and end users, bringing in the foreground technological advances to address the market straightness towards a wider usage of EO data. EO4EU envisages to boost the Earth Observation data market, providing a digestible data information modeling for a wide range of EO data, through dynamic data annotation and a state-of-the-art serverless processing by leveraging important European Cloud & HPC infrastructures.

The SYNERGY project intends to promote preparedness with the coherent and synergic involvement of the different actors of disaster management. These actors include first and second responders, citizens, communities, education systems, authorities and public administrations, business companies and practitioners. The project will concentrate on five needs identified for disaster preparedness: i) involvement of all relevant actors in building preparedness; ii) strengthening preparedness education and training; iii) communicating with citizens; iv) management of spontaneous volunteers; v) ensuring sustainability of solutions for preparedness. To address these needs SYNERGIES is leveraging the knowledge, experience, and results of five H2020 projects (ENGAGE, RESILOC, LINKS, IMPACT, BUILDERS), and one nationally funded project (Ready2Help). The results of these projects will be integrated with practitioners' best practices and experiences, revised, and improved, increasing their level of maturity. Targeted research, including social science expertise, will be dedicated to covering remaining gaps and supporting the integration work. Three Real Preparedness Cases will offer the opportunity to orient the project work, evaluate the progress and demonstrate the final results. These Preparedness Cases are real situations in which stakeholders intend to improve preparedness with a better involvement and empowerment of citizens. The SYNERGIES activities will last 36 months with a Consortium composed of 16 partners, representative of all the types of stakeholders in DRM, including research organizations, business companies, first and second responders, civil society organizations, and authorities.

ENTRUST brings together 16 leading research institutions and enterprise from 5 different countries across Europe to establish a Doctoral Network that will train a cohort of 11 Doctoral Researchers (DRs) in an intersectoral, international and interdisciplinary setting with the aim to establish a new generation of Data Executives. These graduates will have obtained a PhD and are able to take on leading roles in academia, industry or policy sector. They will be experts on agri-data governance sharing data in a fair, transparent, and trusted environment. ENTRUST demonstrate how agri-data from farmers can be made available, governed, and exploited, with benefits shared in a fair way. ENTRUST will enable DRs to excel in their future career perspectives in the intersection between computing, information systems and social science and thus, provide the DRs with enhanced career perspectives, combined with an innovation-oriented mind-set and creativity, thereby forming a new generation of Data Executives. ENTRUST provides the foundation for doctoral training programme on agri-data governance that will set a standard on including gender dimension and sustainability aspects within PhD training. Entrust also addresses current challenges of data governance in agriculture and farming and will provide scientific results on (1) adoption factors of Data Technologies to allow farmers to unlock data potential, (2) on enhanced Data Governance practices to ensure a fair and trustworthy agri-data space and (3) on new types of innovative Business models for fair value sharing. This is combined with network training and research and outreach to maximise the project impact. Entrust provides input in science, data governance and agricultural and many other sectors. Entrust supports the European Data Strategy foreseeing European Data Spaces as the key instrument to democratize the access to data and unlock its full value, in particular for the agri-food sector.
