"MARSA stands for Move Against Rash Statements and Actions and that is what it was set up to do on the subject of migration and integration.Incidentally the word ""marsa"" is of Arabic origin meaning ""port"" and that has become also the name of localities in Spain, Italy, France and Malta due to historical connections to the Arab world. MARSA was a strategic partnership of 5 partners from Romania, France, Italy, Turkey and Malta under the leadership of VisMedNet Association of Malta. It was a partnership that is strong on sharing experience and transfer between sectors including youth, adult education, VET and remedial education in view of the partnerships joint and several experience in cross border projects and networks. The project was from 2018 to 2020 however due to a successful sustainability strategy the project has a follow up project called The Real Picture that will make the social media public education campaign started in MARSA live longer than the project right up 2021.MARSA is part of the InternPrize family of projects that all create real life projects for youths to generate curriculum while learning. InternPrize started as an experiment by VisMedNet that later matured into a number of Erasmus projects all following the philosophy of young people interested in the creative industries embark on projects in real competitive / economic dynamic so that learning is immediately a notch in one's career. MARSA is a reaction to social changes and migration flows of our times that are now one of the most common subjects of discussion all over Europe. It engaged young people in discussion and social media public education campaign on the subject of migration. This was done with a strategy to educate the masses on the topic running counter to the negative press and communication used in the media when speaking about migration. It strongly countered uninformed opinions expressed widely and wildly in social media. It opened a door to the formation of better and more informed opinions through creativity and young enterprise. The project trained and gave exposure to youth leaders and organisations and younger generations through joint activities in VET and youth imparting knowledge and skills in: - product development in creative industries based on market research, audience analysis and professional distribution strategies, - general media and video production skills with focus on audience and quality under professional artistic direction and - creation of joint strategies for social education and advocacy through structured social media strategies. Youth leaders and youths from every partner organisation set up local teams and produce creative content in an enterprise environment and discipline using online collaborative tools. They took part in training that gave them skills on all production and soft skills that they then put into practice in their local activities: - research and cooperation with experts for the purposes of research, - cooperation and management in a multi cultural team in a cross border manner, - media production and all the joint decision making processes that go behind it for the sake of homogeneity, completeness and facility of distribution and - organisation and self management throughout project activities including organisation of multiplier events for wide audiences. The activities of the project included: - a Kick-off Meeting and a training activity for youth leaders and youths about collaborative social media strategies including media production techniques, discipline, research and in the beginning of the project, - the formation of local production teams for the production of creative content through cross border collaboration between Romania, Turkey, France, Italy and Malta and post production work on still and moving image content intended to educate the viewers about migration starting from the vocabulary that the partners believe is the foundation of all social education about the topic, - an Interim Meeting to review progress and plan the second half of the project activities, - three Multiplier Events for the reaching out to the local, regional, national and EU public, - the commissioning of a music clip by a local artist to boost the social media campaign and - a forum for conclusion and exploration of future cooperation between the partners. MARSA created social impact using powerful visual communication tool to provoke the community to discuss the topic of migration and to be aware of how much we tend to express ourselves about migration in a very light minded manner without any form of knowledge, insight or analysis that helps us really understand what we are talking about."

"The project refers to the priority ""support for creativity cultural awareness"", which aims to develop skills and competences that enhance the creativity of the participants, contribute to social inclusion through culture and art, shape cultural awareness and build intercultural dialogue through didactic games used in intercultural education. According to the European Council document ""Council Conclusions on the Young Generation of Creators"". (Dz.U.UE.C.2019.189.34), the basic task is to create an environment for involving young people in shaping creative attitudes originating in culture and the creative sector. The project aims to support this strategy by providing teachers, intercultural assistants to educational institutions with practical support in solving problems originating in cultural differences. One of the basic conditions for dynamic social development is permanent concern for the harmonious coexistence of the 'bouquet' of cultures living in the European Union.School education time is most appropriate for the implementation of this strategy. When thinking about preparing a creative generation for the challenges of the 21st century, we must first and foremost take care of the intercultural condition of the young generation. This will also have an impact on adults (parents, families, friends). The project's objectives are also linked to the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, which was adopted in June 2010 by European Heads of State and Government. By using the project results in the intercultural education of teaching games, whose key features are creativity, fun, rules and joy, teachers will gain very useful tools that are liked and used periodically in the implementation of school curricula. We will achieve this goal thanks to:1. Development of educational materials for teachers and other groups dealing with intercultural education in schools with - Handbook.2. Development and piloting of a comprehensive educational platform for teachers (e-learning course).3. Creation of Didactic Games Sets, which will be a practical help for use in the educational process. The Sets will be prepared in cooperation with teachers and students, which will make these activities adapted to real school situations. Each set will also contain a user manualThe needs outlined are not limited to individual countries, but common to all EU countries, which is why a supranational approach is the best way to achieve high quality results, gathering many views and experiences in response to the problem at EU level. The project will be implemented by a consortium consisting of five partners from five countries: Poland - Coordinator, Greece, Romania, Turkey, North Macedonia :KCZIA (Poland) , DDE (Greece), ASI (Romania), Hasanoğlan (Turkey), EUNOIA (North Macedonia)"

<< Background >>The high rate of unemployment of young people due to a lack of opportunities, of self-confidence and to social and economic difficulties have motivated us, the project consortium, to present this initiative in order to find innovative solutions to foster young people's social and professional integration. In Croatia and North Macedonia, there is a high rate of brain-draining, while in Lithuania there is a low youth employment (47,6% according to national statistics reports) and it is the same way in Romania where 24,5% of the Youth is unemployed just before the actual health crisis. Finally, for France, the health crisis has increased within the Youth, from economic and social difficulties, has generated a low self-confidence in them due to a low support towards their projects even when the entrepreneurial field has presented a rise during 2020. We wonder if entrepreneurship could be one of the solution. However, even if the young people seem to be interested in this answer, they are hampered by the lack of knowledge and skills (2/3 of young people), fear of failure (1/2 of young people), lack of entrepreneurship models, professional experiences, financial resources, professional networking and their low credibility facing potential clients. All the organizations have a desire to support young people towards entrepreneurship, as a real tool to increase young people employability, especially the NEETs, and to enable them to develop entrepreneurial and transversal skills (self-confidence, leadership, flexibility...). These programs facilitate the social and professional integration of youth within society. But, we have to give high quality service and to make the difference from the others. We also to need to find innovative methods which fit to everybody's backgroung, even the ones with low qualifications. European collaboration will definitely contribute to it.Besides, some of enterprises have hard time to recruit young people and to keep them in their staff. Hence, we need to bring together labor market and young people.<< Objectives >>Through our collaboration, we wish to:- promote entrepreneurship through raising-awareness actions in order to inform young people about entrepreneurship, to develop initiative, a sense of responsibility, the capacity to innovate and awaken the leader in them. We would like to find innovative tools and efficient processes to do so. Informing the young people about entrepreneurship is the first step if we want them to think about entrepreneurial projects as a way of employment.- boost the entrepreneurial project of young people, especially the ones with less opportunity. We will improve support for young people who would like to become entrepreneurs by developing a mentorship program and offering them the possibility of participating in European workshops in order to boost the development of their businesses.<< Implementation >>For a 36 months’ timeline, the project activities will be delivered by stages. The first activity will be to gather innovative practices to promote entrepreneurship through a handbook. Then, we will create a training for youth workers to create the most interesting tools and organise a European learning activity in France. The participants of the learning activity will implement the tools and evaluate their impact on the young people from 16 to 25 years old. We will enrich the handbook with their experimentations and write down the success conditions to have efficient tools. We also would like to develop an efficient mentorship program. We will collaborate with KUNACT association, created by retired former business leaders, which develop mentorship to support the development of buinesses. We will identify all the steps of a good mentorship program: recruitment, mentors' training, mentees' preparation, follow-up, assessment. After developing the mentors' training, we will test it at the European level. We will particuarly work on how to build a quality relation through personal development. After 6 months of mentorship, we will evaluate the impact of the mentors' training on the entrepreneurial project's development of the mentees. All the learnt lessons and best practices will be gather in a guideline. The last activity is to organize European workshops to allow exchanges between European young people who have an entrepreneurial project. It will be an opportunity to work on some topics according to their needs, to talk about social and environmental responsibility, to meet inspiring business leaders and visit European enterprises.<< Results >>The project aims to end with three intellectual outcomes:- Handbook with innovative tools to promote entrepreneurship. It will gather methods, success key conditions to implement the tools, human and material resources. It will be writter by youth workers who are the target of this delivery.- Guideline to explain how to implement an efficent mentoship program. We will involve mentors and the mentees to create this program.- Guideline to organize an European workshop for young people with an entrepreneurial project.Through this European cooperation, we hope to create:- an European community of exchange of practices in order to develop innovative methods, involving youth workers- an European network of mentors and young entrepreneurs: an opportunity for them to develop their business, to get new ideas, to gain confidence and motivation through inspiring testimonies and storytelling from one to another. The project consortium will improve the quality of their program, will develop their communication and their local, national and international network. And through European workshop or the mentorship program, about 50 young entrepreneurs will gain self-esteem and self-confidence, will understand what European citizenship means. They will acquire and consolidate innovative ideas and practices for their entrepreneurship business project. They will have a better knowledge and understanding about labor market and enterprise's environment through the quality relation with their mentors. On their side, mentors will get a better understanding of the young people's values and expectactions on a job. We will also promote entrepreneurship among 200 young people, especially the NEETs ones.

Due to persistently high youth unemployment, increased skills mismatches and school drop-out in many EU Member States, career guidance to secondary and vocational school students aged 16-18 has in the past years been the subject of much attention. However, effective orientation needs to start earlier to permit equal opportunities and informed decisions concerning educational and professional paths, helping all young people to find employment that suits them.In many countries, students as young as 13-14 have to choose whether they will continue in “general” studies, focus on “maths/science” or go into vocational training. So already from this young age, they have to make an important choice that will affect the career options that will be available to them as they grow older. How can they make informed decisions? And who is there to help young people make these very important, life-determining choices? Mainly parents, career guidance counsellors and teachers. Yet educational staff are often ill-equipped to provide career orientation to this age group, who at this stage in their lives would not benefit from specific career guidance services. What they require most is what we call “Life Design Skills”, i.e. the knowledge, mindset and skills they will need to make informed choices concerning their education, and thereafter to develop their professional lives in a labour market that will primarily be characterised by change. Our specific objective is thus to empower teachers, youth workers, career guidance providers (‘Educators’) to teach Life Design Skills to young people. We will work towards this objective primarily by developing a ‘Skills for Life Toolbox’ for Educators. This Toolbox will be developed cooperatively by all project partners who will pilot it with approximately 500 Educators and 10,000 students in Belgium, Germany, Italy and Romania. It will be composed of:-An on-line self-evaluation tool to help students discover their strengths, weaknesses, priorities, interests and personality types and to start considering how these may relate to different professional profiles;-A board game to help students make the link between their own personal characteristics and those of different job profiles and economic sectors;-A series of modules that Educators can implement as a function of their teaching environment, to dig deeper into the subject with their students;-A half-day training to teach Educators to deliver these activities, also available as on-line training modules;-A user-friendly Impact Assessment Methodology that will enable Educators to measure the impact and efficacy of their intervention. All of the results will be freely accessible online in five languages: Dutch, English, German, Italian and Romanian, and will be designed in such a way as to easily cross language and cultural barriers. We will also use our experience of piloting the Toolbox to develop Policy Recommendations that will highlight actions and policies that support effective early-stage career orientation and Life Design Skills for young people. The Toolbox will be mainstreamed (1) by project partners who will use the Toolbox as part of their regular activities and promote its use by local stakeholders; (2) through dissemination activities aimed at school directors, educators, counsellors, local authorities, Chambers of Commerce and other stakeholders concerned with youth employment; (3) through engagement with policy-makers especially using the Policy Recommendations.Expected impactsThe Skills for Life Toolbox will:-empower teachers, youth workers, career counsellors and other career guidance and orientation providers to deliver effective pre-career guidance to young people aged 13-14,-empower young people to choose an educational pathway that will lead them into employment that suits them,-provide young people with the skills they will need as they grow older and make their way through an employment environment characterised by change. We will also raise awareness – among local, regional, national and European stakeholders – of the need to introduce career orientation to students at a younger age than is currently the case, and will promote our results as an efficient and effective means of meeting this need.In the longer term, this project will help bridge the gap between a labour market in constant evolution and an education system that struggles to remain up-to-date. As a result, young people will be better prepared to envisage their future, to seize new opportunities and be more resilient to constant change and continuous transitions.Skills for Life will contribute not only to more fulfilling careers for young people, but also to a more innovative and competitive European economy. This project has been created by Goethe-Institut (DE), Aliseo Liguria (IT), Scoala de Valori (RO), Tracé Brussel (BE) and the City of Mannheim (DE).
