Among all the possibilities that schools face with curriculum flexibilization, the study, promotion and appreciation of regional and local content can act as a motivation and attraction factor for students and for teachers themselves. a student studying in the Natural Sciences course the fauna and flora of his region; in History, to study and to know events of its region, locality or even of its street, and sometimes having as elements in historical and social events remarkable elements with connection to its reality and even ancestors; in Linguistic Studies, and in literature to recognize the reality of his region portrayed in literary works and authors who name their school, a street, a library, ...; in Music Education, to learn the discipline with the aid of regional instruments and local authors. All this dynamics should extend to many more disciplines, such as Geology, Geography, Biology and the Arts. This project will be developed by students aged between 12 and 16 years, and it is estimated that it can reach approximately 4000 students from all five educational communities. Among the main activities will be study visits and partnerships with institutions and organizations that already work with regional content themes from different school disciplines; thematic websites, thematic video documentaries, exhibitions, dissemination and promotion of the theme and the project) and various activities included in the mobilities. The methodologies used will mainly include a constant sharing of strategies among all partners, using digital platforms, definition of work plans, analysis and evaluation of results and constant exchange of ideas and methodologies, always between students and teachers. Regarding the results, we hope that LORESU will be a project that will promote the study and promotion of regional and local content, in the classroom and in school dynamics, and that it will also be a curriculum flexibilization tool, with impact not only on schools involved, but of all those who contact and have knowledge of the project. We also want to leave a memorandum on this project, its objectives and practices, for entities and organizations with responsibilities in the area of educational policies. In addition to the products resulting from the project (innovative educational practices, curriculum flexibilization, thematic web pages of regional content and work done, work in video and digital support), the memorandum and the possible adoption of its recommendations and practices will be the most important results and all together will make the longevity of this project.

The extension of new technologies, their influence in social life, the change of the labour market and the internationalization have no precedents. Though, sometimes schools are not flexible enough to adapt to those changes and still rely too much on the use of textbooks and traditional teaching methods. These facts pose a challenge to education in our schools. History can also be a very practical matter helping students to understand how History is linked to human actions and feelings. In this project we have linked a new research field, the study of emotion´s role in history, to the teaching of the subject. This project will allow our students to achieve a better knowledge of how the past and present events in their countries are connected to human emotions and specifically to their own emotions. Analyzing events, creating historical simulations and discussing what emotions they provoke in our students can be a powerful tool to achieve a meaningful understanding of History and its dynamics. Awareness of the social influence of human emotions will give our students tools for an active citizenship. Students will enhance the ability to implement introspection techniques on emotions and apply them to social analysis. Objectives. The main objective of this project is to establish connections between the understanding of emotions and historical events linked to them. Our project will aim psychological characteristics in history. The participant schools will focus on some relevant historical events in every countries. Additionally we will have a topic about power´s influence in emotions. The goal is to see how historical events that have played an important role in History are linked to people`s lives and feelings. The aim is to research about national topics, linking them to emotional factors. Every country will have a period of twentieth century history to analyze and will compare it to relevant topics in our present time. We will also have a common topic which is the influence of mass media in manipulating emotions in the people. Other relevant objectives will be: improving the language skills of the students, their capacity for team working, their knowledge of other cultures and their use of ICT.Number and profile of participants. The six participating institutions in this project are in countries which are faced with educational and social challenges. One of their primary aims is is adopting innovative teaching methods and communicating the need to prepare citizens with a global outlook. A total of above 300 students between 14 and 17 years old will benefit directly of the project, together with their families and teachers who also will be the target groups.Activities.Students will be asked to compare and contrast the emotions in different historical moments in their countries and as a common topic we will analyze the financial crisis of the last decade, focusing on the implications of the emotional aspects of people that led to historical developments and draw lessons for their place. They will analyze public emotion towards immigration, refugees, extremism and populism in all participating countries. Methodology. The methodology will be active and team based with the teachers helping the students in their learning process. The students will be working in international groups focusing on the goals, using ICT and sharing different ideas about their countries. Working on the analysis of emotions in history will be an excellent methodological tool that will help us accomplish a shared vision in our schools. Results and impact. The results we expect are: effective use of more appealing methods with our students, researching and using CLIL for the subject of history, a video of the experience focusing on the topic of emotions in history. Several debates, a workshops on social events and the emotions related to them, team work sessions with pupils investigating speeches of politicians in different countries and their influence in people´s emotions and changes in society, creation of blended transnational teams of teachers and students and a documentary video showing the different contents worked on the project. The results will be published in a booklet, printed by each partner. The impact in our students will be an increased knowledge of a foreign language and greater awareness of the European Union, the impact in our teachers will be an improvement in their teaching skills and professional development. The impact in our institutions will be a benchmark in our international bonds.Potential longer term benefits. The opportunity to take part in an Erasmus project will result into a breakthrough for our students, teachers, families and schools involved. Our schools will have the opportunity to be a reference within our communities for European partnerships based on innovative teaching methodologies.

It is composed of seven countries Abergele-Conwy (Wales), Istanbul(Turkey), Bremen(Germany), Bydgoszcz (Poland), Gran Canary (Spain), Karlskrona (Sweden), Horjul (Slovenia), La Spezia (Italy). All of the participating countries are aware of the dramatic situation caused by Global warming and are aware of the fact that transportation, travelling and tourism are also contributors to the greenhouse effect. Our main goal is to analyse current trends in tourism and promote future trends which are inter-twinned with culture, traditions environment and heritage. By involving international cooperation, we will compare cultural and eco-tourism with standard tourism and solve tourism related problems finding new creative methods and techniques. The main issues are to provide students and teachers with a deeper understanding of responsible tourism and to widen their knowledge in subjects connected to culture, history, traditions, gastronomy, environmental protection, English language and ICT whilst integrating students who come from different cultural backgroundsThe project promotes a development away from typical consumer oriented tourism towards tourism that focuses on cultural and environmental encounters and requires more responsibility from the key figures in tourism: tourists and specialists in tourism alike.Completing the project tasks and activities (visiting each other‘s countries, making mini–tour guides and itineraries, creating presentations and booklets etc.) will prepare our students to become open-minded, culture-conscious citizens and skilled travellers, who are consciously protecting the value of their touristic environment.International cooperation - common methods based on cooperative learning - will let us build a group and will promote collaboration. The project will put schools into cooperation with local, national and international institutions and organisations and it will encourage cross-curricular approaches. In order to get the partners to work towards a common purpose, staff will interact effectively with each other, creating international teams and sharing experiences whilst providing a unique opportunity for partners to input their own expertise and learn from each other. The project will have both intangible results (new content learned by the participants, improved learning in relevant subject areas, new skills acquired )and tangible results (concrete products). We will use the outcomes as a measure of the extent to which the project has contributed to the learning experiences of those involved and the quality of education on offer in the schools participating. The partnership will have a positive impact on the participating institutions by building a community consisting of teachers and students who have a strong commitment to and a sense of ownership of the project. By creating and carrying out several creative dissemination techniques and activities, it will also enable a wider community (stakeholders, parents, school authorities, hotels )to benefit from our partnership in the long run.
