The main aim of the project is to modernize, improve accessibility and internationalize the higher education in Physical sciences and Environmental protection in Kazakhstan and in Russia. To achieve this aim the capacity of the academic staff will be built in partner universities in Sustainable Waste Management, the latest European eLearning pedagogical approaches and English language skills. Further, eight online learning modules reflecting the local needs will be built on the topic to benefit the secondary target group, students and staff members of private companies and local/regional authorities in partner countries. The focus of the pedagogical approaches used will be on student-centered learning, integration of industry-university cooperation and innovation activities into the learning modules and eLearning. The modules will be available online first on the platforms of ITMO in Russia and KazNU in Kazakhstan for the partner university students. After accreditation the aim is to transfer the piloted courses on the national online platforms opened.ru (Russia) and moocs.kz (Kazakhstan). The theoretical parts of the courses will be available for the wide audience free of charge. After the project, a reasonable fee will be charged for intensive studies linked to the previously developed basic parts and certifying them increasing the sustainability of the project’s results. The modules will be available on Russian and Kazakh languages. The project will support resolving of the acute problems of Sustainable Waste Management in both partner countries by providing relevant and modern educational materials on the topic for under-graduate students and for continuous training. The online learning modules will offer flexibility and inclusion for the personal learning paths of the students. The increased capacity of the academic staff is expected to have spill-over effects on designing learning materials for other disciplines.

GEOCLIC aims to modernize BA / MSc / PhD curricula in geospatial technologies in order to ensure environmental safety of coastal ecosystems using new technologies: GEONETCast; GIS Software - ILWIS and remote sensing and modeling technologies through updating existing curricula in the area and developing /testing accrediting new curricula according to the new achievements in the area; to test and accredit the curricula and to disseminate the results. GEOCLIC's consortium consists of 17 partners (plus 7 associate-partners) with the required expertise and skills. The outputs/results are: •Agreement and Guidelines on instructional strategy for curricula design •New curricula in geospatial technologies, including innovative new equipped laboratories GEOLAB and virtual rooms CVE •Updated current curricula in geospatial technologies including ECTS and the new developments •Bringing the HEIs of AZ, KZ and TM closer to labor market (new equipped Service Offices on spatiality technologies GEOCOF). The content and use of new educational technologies, compliant with the European modernization agenda for HEIs, will function as the envisaged impact.

Health security and the organization and management of the quality of health-care system concern all countries. To cope with this, well-trained specialists in specific and adapted methodologies are needed. The participating partner countries suffer from a lack of qualified graduates (managers, doctors, or any other profession involved in the health-care quality system and services).The need for university training for specialists in this field is therefore very strong. Staff capable of developing and delivering continuing professional education is also necessary for professionals to adapt to the latest developments in this constantly evolving field. The project meets these needs with the development of study programs in the targeted areas.Contribute to the development of health security and the organization and management of the quality of health-care by mobilizing training engineering to operationalize the necessary actions, by offering academic and professional training programs capable of transmitting the skills required by medical structures / companies.The new programs created will be entirely or partially delivered remotely. The programs developed will meet the needs of companies / medical structures in need of specialists capable of improving health security and managing the quality of health care. The implementation of the project must / will be based on a broad interinstitutional partnership to guarantee the sustainability of the results.The ministries of education and health will support the project in partner countries. They will guarantee compliance with standards for the sustainability of the new training offer.Professional organizations and medical structures will be the guarantors of professional outlets for training courses for graduates.

The project is developed under the initiatives of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Computational Linguistics as interdisciplinary educational program does not exist in the partner countries, though as a research area it has been developed since beginning of 2000. Computational Linguistics is crucial for development of high information technologies, absolutely necessary for the industrial, social and civilizational progress. These technologies are in progress almost everywhere in the world but at different speed in the concerned countries. Despite of a number of software working with recognition of a number of world languages; the Kazakh and Uzbek languages still drop out. Thus it is practically impossible for the world community to retrieve any information in Uzbek or Kazakh. The aim of the project is to develop the master program curriculum and to enrich KZ & UZ universities’ capabilities to enhance access to higher education with blended learning in computational linguistics master program for students with linguistics and computational science background. To achieve this aim it is planned to establish and maintain strong collaboration between linguistics and computational technology in HEI; blended learning pedagogical skills for enhancing computational and linguistic competencies of master students; building the capacity to network effective inter-universities collaboration in the joint researches in linguistics and computer technology. It means that the academic staff from linguist and IT field will be trained. Moreover, the academic materials on new interdisciplinary master courses, NLP tools, online course, e-books and methodological books will be developed for teaching with blended learning under EU supervision.As a result the students will be able to access learning materials, teacher interaction with digital tools. New NLP tools for Uzbek and Kazakh languages will be obtained.

Aim of the project is to support the modernization, professionalization and internationalization of postgraduate training in the field of children care management in Central Asia (CA) Countries - Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan - in cooperation with HEI from Italy, Germany and Poland willing to share their expertise and experience in the fields of Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery and Child Neuropsychiatry postgraduate training. It’s a joint project organised as a feasibility study to become, if successful, a structural project for a sustainable and long lasting improvement in the organisation of postgraduate medical training in CA countries, not only in paediatrics but possibly also in other fields of medical care. By-product of the project will be to emphasise the importance of children care in the ongoing process of Health Care Reform in CA countries, thus contributing to reduce the infant mortality, through an updated approach to the modern techniques of neonatal and pediatric care, widely resorting on the tools made available by ICT. Outputs will be new curricula and new training strategies devoted to an integrated, holistic care of the child, harmonised with those adopted in EU countries and aiming to achieve the same results. To offer a solid and sustainable basis on which to ground these results, state-of-the-art ICT teaching and teleconferencing systems will be provided to all partners, with on-the-job training. Project’s preparatory activities of situation analysis and paediatric facilities census will also provide Governmental authorities an invaluable tool, offering a sound basis on which to build any future project of intervention on the health system and manpower devoted to the care of children in CA Countries.Ultimate impact will hopefully be a reduction in infant mortality and a substantial increase in life expectancy at birth for the populations of partner Countries, now living in average some ten years less than EU population.
