The project came from the needs of young people to develop their entrepreneurial skills, to be better prepared for the entry to the labour market, to improve the knowledge of languages and develop communication skills. It was also based on the presumptions that European countries appear in the times of economical problems, the unemployment rate of young people is at a high level, young people have trouble with finding jobs, motivation of young people to succeed at the job market is decreasing, and lack of language competences is one of the barriers at the European labour market. The project promoted entrepreneurship education and social entrepreneurship among the students which made them better prepared for their working life. We also used more effective teaching methods, e.g. combining formal and non-formal methods or CLIL to get higher achievement of students in basic skills. The project fostered multidisciplinary and inter-disciplinary approaches as it combined economical subjects with general subjects such as foreign languages, social sciences, geography or drama education. The project combined work on entrepreneurial topics with work on social topics connected with jobs. The project also combined economical topics with general topics to made young people better prepared for their future lives. It was not focused only on entrepreneurial tasks but significantly involved also other subjects such as geography, social sciences, drama education, ecological education etc., which created an excellent and very important complex. Through this project the students improved and developed communication and language competences, entrepreneurial competences, digital competences and social competences. The students also increased their cultural awareness, sense of entrepreneurship and motivation to succeed at the labour market. The work on the project included various methods of work: workshops, discussions, debates, excursions, role plays, creating and carrying out surveys, presentations of the results and the work, meetings with local entrepreneurs and local representatives. We dealt with various topics connected with jobs and labour market, e.g. unemployment, writing CV, job interviews, starting a firm, creating a business plan, presentation of a firm, promotion and advertising as well as with social matters such as gender issues, the questions of age at the labour market, employment of handicapped people, the matters of bossing, mobbing, racism, immigration etc. Within the three-year project run there were two transnational meetings held, the first one at the beginning of the project in Karviná, Czech Republic, and the second one at the end of the project in Porto, Portugal. During the project there were seven project meetings in all partner schools, each school hosted their partners once. The project reached the following results: an increase of students´ entrepreneurial competences and their motivation in the field of entrepreneurship, improvement of their ability to write a good CV and apply for a job not only in their country but in other European countries, too, gaining higher practise and experience with job interviews, better knowledge of how to make a business plan, increased motivation to start an own firm, increased awareness of the connection between entrepreneurship and social matters, broken stereotypes about gender issues, racism, immigration, social exclusion, handicapped people, improved language competences both in everyday English and business English etc. During the project the participants created and carried out questionnaires and surveys that were published online for public, powerpoint presentations on the various entrepreneurship, job and social tasks, newsletters about the project activities which were published on the project website, mini-brochure about the project, website of the project which is freely accessible for wide public, e-Twinning project among the partner schools, evaluation forms, photo-documentation and video-documentation etc. Moreover, we published e-magazines which are also available for wider public through the project webpage. We also made a business multilingual mini-dictionary which is, freely accessible for public, too. The project showed high impact on students, teachers, entrepreneurs and schools as well as expected impact on local, regional, and national level. The project, its results, methods and activities used are sustainable, too, and can be used both by partner schools or any other interested schools in the future. All partner schools shared their duties and responsibilities throughout the whole run of the project equally. All partner schools also involved participants with fewer opportunities both in project work and mobilities.

During two school years, students participated intensely in various business activities - concluding framework contracts, fictitious trading via e-mail and personal participation in fictitious fairs. Thanks to the cooperation of students from the two countries, the principles of international trade were practiced. A side effect of the international communication was the improvement of the students’ language skills. The direct participants of the project were the students of the 3rd and 4th year of the two business academies in the school years 2015-2017, the total of 210 pupils, of which the best 16 of each school were chosen for personal meetings. Indirectly, the project affected and influenced students of all years from both schools, and also the students who were involved in the teaching of fictitious companies within CEFIF organization, who were informed about the project directly at the exhibitions, on the websites of both schools, e-mails and at the promotion of the most successful company at the International Fair of Fictitious Companies in Prague. Some of the project's activities took place within the framework of electronic communication (videoconference, e-mail and social networking). The outputs of the project were questionnaires completed by students at the beginning and at the end of each school year, documentation of fictitious transactions carried out in compliance with the legislation of both countries, reports from personal meetings at fairs and annual reports of all participating companies. All this documentation will be accessible to students in the next school years, which will again improve learning and make it more attractive. The long-term effect on the students who were directly involved in the project is the improvement of their entrepreneurial and social skills, and the ability to decide independently and understand foreign trade issues, which will increase their chances in the job market after their graduation. Also, the teachers of the subject of the “Fictitious Company” can pass on the newly acquired experience and the established contacts of the foreign cooperation to the younger students. The long-term impact of the project is primarily bringing closer students and teachers from two European nations which have much in common linguistically, culturally and historically."

Europe’s cultural heritage surrounds us in the buildings of our cities, our landscapes and archaeological sites. It is preserved not only in literature, art and objects but also in craft skills, stories, food and films. Europe is changing, the migration wave established several questions - What are our roots, our traditions? Are we aware of them, are we living with respect to them? What are similarities and differences between various cultures? Do the differences endanger our own culture? How much have our traditions changed? Six European schools from the Czech Republic, Finland, Cyprus, Spain, Italy and Turkey agreed on a two-year cooperation on this topic, these six schools realised that the ""Roots"" project will help their students and teachers to enlarge their overview of culture, traditions, roots and heritage and answer the above mentioned questions, that the project will help them to learn more about other cultures but also about their own culture, preserve traditions and keep or develop them. The project includes both local activities and mobilities (learning/teaching/training activities). The activities focus on roots and cultural heritage and include topics such as life in the past, folk stories, music and dance, migration, cuisine or language. During the workshops we will also deal with several European issues. In this project we are going to achieve the following objectives and concrete results: 1. Development of competences of the participants of the project (communication and language, cultural awareness, creative, digital, social, analytical, and moving) 2. Printed outputs - Book of stories, a brochure about the project, a photobook, newsletters, promotional materials 3. Online outputs - web, facebook page, e-Twinning, e-magazines, logo 4. Development of international cooperation in the partner schools and strengthening the cooperation of the schools with municipalities, libraries, community centres and houses of culture at the local level 5. Breaking stereotypes about other cultures, traditions and lifestyles 6. Extending the knowledge of the partner countries in the field of history, traditions, customs, ways of life, and geography 7. Extending (or gaining) the knowledge about various UNESCO sites. 8. Development of friendship with students and colleagues from partner schools 9. Development of awareness of the European Union issues including Erasmus+ programme 10. Exchange of good practices and methods of work with young people The participants are students aged 14-19 from six countries from various parts of Europe, from various cultural, social, geographical background, their headmasters, teachers, other school staff and parents. We are going to involve public into our activities, too, particularly responsible people from municipalities, libraries, community centres. In the activity ""Interview with older people"" and creating ""Book of stories"" old people will be involved to share their life experience. Each school will involve at least 30-50 participants in local activities and 15 students in mobilities. During the activites we will use various methods of work - presentations, workshops, discussions and debates, interviews, excursions, seminars, lectures, role-play activities, intercultural activities etc. We are going to use methods of both formal and informal education. The project will have a desired impact on the participating schools, it will help to start or extend their international partnerships and activities, the schools will be more popular for next newcomers and public will learn more about school activities. People not connected with schools so far can learn about the schools activities and maybe find some kind of cooperation. The students and teachers of the partner schools will improve their skills and will become more interesting for the labour market. Motivation of the students and teachers for future international cooperation will increase and the awareness about Erasmus+ programme and other matters regarding the European Union will be enlarged. The project will help the participants to become aware of the roots, history, traditions and cultural heritage of their country and to overcome prejudices and stereotypes about other cultures. This is an important fact particularly in countries where anti-European forces are getting stronger and in the times when Europe looks back to its roots. The project will bring a long-time benefit for the schools, some of the materals, presentations, Book of stories and methods of work can be used in the future and involved in a curriculum. The schools will also strengthen cooperation with municipalities, libraries or community centres and will be able to offer future students the gained experience. And above all, the participants will gain and develop their competences and will become more educated, more cultural and more interesting for labour market."
