SATELLITE will function as anchor for the entire CIVITAS Network, coordinating and supporting ongoing and future CIVITAS2020 projects. SATELLITE will address the MG5.5b call topic by helping cities gain better access to innovative solutions to properly address transport challenges they are facing. SATELLITE will make sure the latest innovations resulting from European urban mobility research reach cities through adequate cross-project coordination and exchange mechanisms. For innovations to be properly scaled up, sufficient information on their actual impact is required. SATELLITE will further elaborate the CIVITAS Impact and Process Evaluation Framework and provide IA projects with support mechanisms to implement and apply this framework. Through capacity-building, SATELLITE will provide city practitioners with the necessary skills to apply innovations in their own context, while additional exchange activities will prepare for the actual transfer and take-up of these solutions through community building approaches where cities can learn from their peers. Moreover, the project enhances the direct exchange and cooperation between the public and private sector, offering a dedicated online marketplace for urban transport innovations. SATELLITE dissemination activities will promote CIVITAS successes and improve access to available solutions through a varied range of communication tools and activities. Structured networking among all CIVITAS Forum members, with the annual conference as main highlight and with strong links to CIVINETs will encourage lasting capitalisation of activities. Unique selling points include: functioning as bridge between past and future of CIVITAS; bringing research tools to a marketplace for improved application and accessibility; gathering leading European and international urban transport networks in one CIVITAS CSA for the first time; reaching beyond Europe to widen the impact of CIVITAS; preparing for a lasting legacy of CIVITAS innovations

Regulators and decision-makers at different levels of government seem overwhelmed by the challenge, acknowledging that existing frameworks may be inadequate in terms of protecting society, fostering business development and achieving integrated, sustainable mobility. In light of this, GECKO’s main goal is to support authorities with tools and recommendations for new regulatory frameworks to lead the transition to the new mobility era of cooperative, inclusive, competitive, sustainable and interconnected mobility across all modes, through evidence-based research. GECKO provides a holistic approach with innovative concepts, methodologies and forward-looking tools to enable this transition to take place, leading to new, adaptive and anticipatory regulatory schemes and balanced governance. It will build on the strong networks of the partners on the project to ensure all solutions are co-designed and validated before submission. A number of key indicators and cooperation models will help to develop the Regulatory Frameworks Dashboard, with which the maturity of regulation with respect to emerging mobility solutions can be judged. The final output will be to provide recommendations to policy makers to enable adaptive and anticipatory regulatory schemes and governance with novel policies contributing to sustainable mobility goals. GECKO will outline an implementation plan with actions up to 2040 needed to devise regulatory approaches for disruptive innovations and identify new regulatory frameworks streamlining uptake. GECKO will advise policy makers of challenges and policies that need to be addressed to move towards integrated, accessible and sustainable mobility across modes for passenger and freight transport.

CCAM-ERAS aims to build towards the future and address the transition to connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM) from a socio-economic perspective. The project will develop the necessary knowledge and prepare for the possibilities that potentially will arise from the deployment of CCAM, and will aim to increase knowledge regarding the necessary skills required for CCAM deployment. CCAM-ERAS will take advantage of the possibilities arising from CCAM deployment, by envisioning a future whereby CCAM can contribute towards a more attractive and inclusive labour market by providing solutions to ensure that the relevant skills are available and are able to be up scaled across the entire CCAM value chain. Mitigating the resulting effects of introduction of CCAM requires multi-sectoral knowledge and cooperation between what were previously separate sectors (transport, technology, education etc.) CCAM-ERAS will develop new approaches and solutions to anticipate and mitigate the impacts and rebound effects on potential job losses and job relocations due to the deployment of road based CCAM systems and services, as well as boost innovation capabilities through the availability and upscaling of CCAM-specific professional skills. Schemes and actions that can contribute to the specific labour market challenges will be developed, in relation to specific 'real world' use cases. CCAM-ERAS will also identify innovations and key innovators relating to CCAM deployment, particularly those relevant to the employment, socio-economic and skills effects Including various stakeholders in the project activities will be crucial in achieving credibility and support for the results of the project. The development of a roadmap to support the socio-economic transition to CCAM will contribute to the legacy of the project. CCAM-ERAS therefore offers a set of building blocks that pave the way for a smooth transition to CCAM deployment over the short, medium, and long term.
