However, the sector lacks innovation and competitiveness which caused a negative loss of employment of over 4k jobs a year during the last few years. The main barrier for the Tunisian textile industry is the low-value-added products that drives an intense competition in addition to the lack of own product. In this context, WINTEX project is oriented to the creation of innovation textiles centers to address the lack of competitiveness of the Tunisian textile sector with the support from Erasmus+ program by bringing EU expertise, idea and experience exchange, financial support and capacity building at Tunisian institutions oriented towards increasing the latent innovation capacity available in the country. In addition, WINTEX also aims to create an Academy Textile Industry council as a point of interaction and networking among HEIs and industrial partners. The main objective WINTEX project is to foster innovation and cooperation in Tunisian textile sector with transfer of knowledge from EU. The specific objectives will be the cration of 3 innovation textiles’ centers in the three Tunisian HEIs (ISMMM, USF and ISET), to build capacity program addressed to the centers operators and the creation of the Academia Textile Industry Council as a platform for collaboration among Tunisian stakeholders. The project will boost participation of students and staff in the textile centers by means of traineeships in order to set in place a collaborative and innovative mindset to the future generation of the textile industry technicians and managers. Ultimately, the goal is to weave innovation among academia and industry to support the development of innovations and entrepreneurship in the textile sector in Tunisia providing students, researchers and professionals in textile field with competencies and skills needed by the market.

The project will develop 8 courses in total and four tutorials. Also it promote entrepreneurship education. These new Pathway in Enterprise systems engineering will be deployed at the four participating partner universities, two in Palestine (P4: AQU, P5:BZU) and two in Tunisia (P7:US, P8:UM). The uniqueness of this approach, that to meet the multidisciplinary needs of the two domains (engineering and system thinking), it will develop an innovative user-centred adaptive learning to create a new curricula and enable the four universities to implement developed program within their degrees addressing variations, yet meeting their own specified key learning outcomes. The importance of enterprise systems engineering to be part of the undergraduate training as integral part of their educational skills, is critical to advance the ICT sector towards evidence-based practices, in the region, which is currently developing. These skills are essential to solidify the deeper understanding of the value and importance of enterprise engineering not only to their specialty, but also their profession, work and practice. Countries on its southern shore are particularly vulnerable to these issues, since their socioeconomic reality is full of difficulties directly connected to their environment: Apart from general issues such as waste management, water and air pollution and their effects on the population’s health, these countries face severe challenges through desertification, deforestation and threats to biodiversity caused directly by environmental change and with severe implications for their economies, especially regarding agriculture and the tourism sector.Consequently, strategic environmental change management will be crucial to seize socioeconomic opportunities linked to environmental change and minimize its risk. Therefore, the wider objective of this project is to enable Algerian, Moroccan and Tunisian HEIs to develop and implement a new master’s curriculum in the field of Mediterranean Environmental Change Management. Master Study and Ecosystem Building (MEHMED) aligned with the EU Bologna educational approach (duration of 1,5 year, 90 ECTS).To this end, EU HEIs will transfer their knowledge and experience from related degrees to the Partner Country HEIs and participate in the joint development of a new curriculum in accordance with EU and international standards and labour-market requirements to prepare students to apply their knowledge, skills and competences in the field of environment and sustainable development. The new master will assume an interdisciplinary approach, through the collaboration of various faculties and by involving graduate students from different academic fields. MEHMED will be developed in collaboration with various Algerian, Moroccan and Tunisian public and private stakeholders in the environmental sector, and include an internship module thematically linked to the students’ master’s theses to improve alumni’s employability.
