    Five universities are on the way to design a new MA Program in Intercultural Communication along the Axis West-East. The partners in this consortium are: University College Cork – Republic of Ireland, Sofia University – Bulgaria on the part of EU countries and Moscow City University, National University of Kazakhstan Al-Farabi and Tsukuba University – Japan. During the length of the project the member universities need to come to a consensus on the organization, curriculum, entrance and graduation conditions of the MA program and be ready to start it upon completion of this Design Measure Project (around fall 2023). The aims are to develop and maintain a strong network between universities along the Axis Ireland-Japan, involve further associate members in future and develop a program which will contribute to the intercultural communication in a convincing way thanks to a curriculum and syllabus which prepares young professionals from various fields to apply their knowledge of cultures and languages to the benefit of intercultural relations and better understanding between Western Europe, Central and Eastern European countries, Mid and Far East. The ambition of the program is to contribute to the education of young leaders who have deeper understanding about the tensions and possible problem solving between members of societies from various economic, political, religious, social and cultural background well represented through the profile of the participating universities. The MA program will help young professionals to get better understanding and develop practical communicative skills to serve the plurilingual and pluricultural society of 21st century. The MA program will build upon tradition and innovation and works for the better career chances of young professionals in a plurilingual and pluricultural world.
