    Green transition is the behavioral intention of health and care providers (HCPs) even in presence of growing healthcare request after COVID-19. However, it requires operational tools to be carried out rapidly with optimal processes and low service costs. CARING NATURE’s (CN) 5 HCP, 5 innovation SMEs, 1 SDO, 2 industries and 5 Universities will construct and implement 10 healthcare specific solutions for carbon emissions and pollution (CEP) reduction demonstrated in 33 use cases. The 10 CEP-reduction solutions tackle main production sources on which HCP have exclusive control and were they act as principal actors of transition: building energy demand will be addressed through: reduction of environmental impact of construction and renovation, and utilizing AI-powered energy management; reduction and valorization of medical, food and water waste through a HCP tailored pyrolysis plant prototype and an on-site waste food digestion and drying system; reduction of patient/visitors travel through next generation telemedicine. Sustainability transitions require transversal staff and Governance commitment: Staff engagement through participatory methods for Communities of Practice will be explored and systematized. Governance capability of HCPs, policy makers and investors urgently needs an operative framework since to evaluate interventions no simple measuring system of HCP environmental impact exists. CN framework consists of a decision support system based on information sharing, HCP specific social life cycle assessment and life cycle cost and sustainable finance evaluation models together with a reporting model compliant with EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Governance bodies and other stakeholders will benefit from an HCP specific eco-friendly approach to reengineering of processes for enforcing sustainability based on the Green Lean Six Sigma methodology. Opportunities for standardization will be identified and reported.

    Additive Manufacturing (AM) has attracted the interest of industry due to its potential for flexible and automated production of complex geometry objects, combined with minimizing the time required to develop new products. According to recent analysis, the market for AM products is projected to grow annually by 18%. Although AM technologies are an integral part of digitized industrial production and of the 4th industrial revolution, Architectural, Engineering & Construction Industry (AECI) is reluctant to adopt them in design and construction. While AECI has been a pillar industry since 80's, its scale and impact on the global economy expands continuously. This development is also associated with important drawbacks, including large contribution to waste production, huge energy consumption and severe environmental pollution. The recent Green New Deal for Europe sets as primary objective the reform of heavy industry, including AECI, which accounts for 40% of the energy consumed on the continent. The main tools for achieving this objective are to minimize both materials used and amount of AECI waste. The principal aim of ADDOPTML network is to create and validate a holistic machine learning aided, optimum design-manufacturing process of civil structures by developing strong synergies among a multi-disciplinary team of academic experts and SMEs from Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Italy, Jordan and Spain. This will be achieved by taking advantage of ongoing progress in AM technologies including recycled consumables, thus contributing to the European challenge to become the world's first climate-neutral bloc by 2050. As a primary application, an integrated structural design framework based on AM optimized structural elements for transitional structures will be developed, to address the shortage of hospital units faced by many countries as coronavirus pandemic continues to sweep the World and to develop novel human shelter structure for post-disaster housing.

    Europe has an opportunity to have a leading position on Data Economy, particularly in B2B scenarios. Special focus must be placed on accessing, sharing and reuse of data in an environment of security and Trust, which are fundamental preconditions for the Data Economy. The support of pilot projects and innovation spaces for experimenting with cross-sector multi-stakeholder data innovation is therefore urgent. Efforts need to concentrate on the provision of trusted and secure privacy-aware analytics solutions allowing for the secure sharing of proprietary industrial data along with personal data. REACH aims to launch a sustainable European-wide second-generation incubator for data-fuelled start-ups & SMEs aiming to develop innovative experiments within data value chains. REACH will launch 3 Open Calls expecting to attract +500 data driven concept-applications and select 100 business ideas to undertake a 4-phases funnel Tech-Biz acceleration programme (EXPLORE - EXPERIMENT - EVOLVE - EXPOSE). REACH aims to support the generation of new data-fuelled products & services, drive the development of solid businesses, trigger revenue growth and foster the access to new funding rounds, by offering a full service pack consisted of: tech-training and experts, datasets, technological bricks for secure and trusted data value chains, computing infrastructures, business development training & coaches and up to €120k equity-free funding. REACH will demonstrate that Data Silos can be broken by enabling a multi-stakeholder cross-sectorial incubator to boost data-fuelled sustainable solutions, leveraged by the capacities of the best data-driven DIHs in Europe. Besides a solid consortium to access world class startups/ SMEs and deliver high valuable technological & business services, REACH integrates 3 DIHs and 9 public/ private data-providers and 2 private investor brokers. We aim to generate 10M€ volume investment for SMES creating 15 data value-chains delivering fit-to-market products

    According to UNEP, the building sector is estimated to be worth 10% of the global GDP and employs 111 million people. In addition, buildings use about 40% of global energy, 40% of global resources and emit approximately 33% of global GHG emissions. Finally, the fact that people today spend, on average, more than 80% of their time indoors, enhances its social importance. All above indicate the necessity to optimize building design. Architects usually name "optimal design" the choice among a very limited set of design alternatives, dictated by their experience and intuition. However, modern design of structures requires one to account for a great number of criteria deriving from multiple disciplines, often of conflicting nature. The vast number of alternative choices enhances the possibility of arriving at an optimum with the incorporation of smart, automatic tools in the design process, further guiding designer’s intuition. The principal aim of the proposed Network is to create and test methodologies for the application of optimization techniques in different design phases of civil structures by developing strong synergies among a multi-disciplinary team of academic experts from Greece, France, Cyprus, Canada, Turkey, Egypt & Jordan and SMEs from France & Greece. A first goal of the project is to exploit the use of shape and topology optimization techniques in computer aided architectural design. Moreover, the Network wants to exchange ideas, propose formulations that correspond to real-life applications and develop solutions for optimal multi-disciplinary architectural design. Of particular interest is the combination of criteria deriving from structural mechanics, eco-design, bioclimatic design and acoustic performance. For each topic, joint workshops, seminars and long-term visits will be organized at the coordinating and partner institutions. The results will be published in scientific journals, professional magazines and presented in international conferences.
