"The project ""Let's salvage from oblivion"" was realised by 3 partner countries: Poland, Portugal and Bulgaria. Teachers from these countries met on the eTwinning platform and after many discussions came to the conclusion that they are facing similar problems: a decline in interest in the cultural heritage of their countries and Europe - school folk ensembles, traditional regional dishes, heritage sites are being forgotten. The partners conducted surveys at schools and began to write the application. The Polish school was the coordinator, and the partner countries supported it in selected areas. At the application stage, the project was supposed to involve 46 students and 9 teachers from the partner countries, but the plan written in the application was changed with regard to mobility to Cyprus, because before the signing of the grant agreement, the partner from Cyprus resigned. The partners decided to change the mobility from Cyprus to Portugal. This change did not disturb the achievement of the project results, all the activities carried out were as planned in the grant application. Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, the project duration was extended by another 12 months (from 24 to 36 months). The following objectives were achieved: - fostering respect for the cultural heritage of one's own region and appreciation of the value of European cultural heritage - developing citizenship and a sense of European identity based on common values, history and culture - promoting folklore and cultivating old traditions and folk crafts - recreating culinary traditions of EU countries - learning the folk dances of EU countries - learning about cultural heritage sites protected by UNESCO through trips (some virtual) to partner countries - supporting the recognition of European linguistic diversity and raising awareness of the importance of language learning - supporting the acquisition of competence skills in innovative approaches to language learning (CLIL and tandem method) and digital competence - enhancing gastronomic competences, - supporting students in enriching their skills regardless of their abilities and wishes. The main result of the project is the pedagogical innovation ""Let's salvage from oblivion"" implemented by the partner countries. Each part was included in the curriculum of: physical education, catering and nutrition technology, geography and history teaching. The CLIL method has been implemented. As part of achieving the above mentioned goals and their evaluation, the following activities were carried out: - a series of meetings with interesting people in their regions was organised by partners in order to cultivate and recreate culinary traditions, to collect recipes and place them in a book ""Regional Tastes"" - pupil exchanges were organised to Portugal (virtual mobility took place in Bulgaria and Poland due to the COVID-19 pandemic) to acquire key skills and competences: learning foreign languages in a multilingual school environment - short training programmes for teachers to develop a curriculum on European cultural heritage - an eTwinning project with peers and teachers from partner schools - multi-generational meetings (grandparents, parents, grandchildren, etc.) were organised in schools on various themes: cooking a dish drawn together from the partner country, dancing a dance together from the partner country, finding and presenting the five most important UNESCO protected sites - photos were uploaded to the eTwinning platform depicting historical sites worth seeing in their respective regions - a pedagogical innovation ""Let's Salvage from Oblivion"" was implemented in all partner schools. It consists in including in the curricula for Physical Education, Geography, Nutrition and Catering technology and History individual parts of the curriculum developed by the partners, as well as teaching English using the CLIL method - the results of periodic analysis of the project were compared with its objectives - project evaluation was conducted - evaluation of selected issues upon completion of activities (especially local activities in partner countries, related to learning, teaching, training). The project benefited not only the direct participants, but also other students and teachers of the schools, as well as the socio-economic environment of the partner schools.Through the attitudes of the young people educated in our schools, the model of developing competences for the respect and preservation of heritage and the implementation of the pedagogical innovation are widely used as effective tools in the protection of cultural heritage, in the fight against barriers, restrictions, prejudices and in building a culture of inclusion."
