Developing Joint Master’s degree programme in European Studies: Law, Governance and Communication/DEGES/ is a project proposed by the Yerevan State University to be implemented by five universities from Armenia, Georgia, Germany, Latvia and Lithuania. The main aim of the project is to develop and design fully functional new interdisciplinary and innovative Erasmus Mundus joint master programme in accordance with the Standards for Quality Assurance of Joint programmes in the EHEA that can be accredited by national and/or international quality assurance agency. Project objectives are to promote modernisation and internationalisation of programme curriculum, to develop system supporting admission of international students and their inclusion into university life, to enhance network of universities, academics and researchers their integration into European Higher Education Area, to enhance internationalisation of higher education through implementation of transnational project. Within the frames of the project a series of events are planned including capacity building trainings for academic staff, workshops and events with participation of stakeholder/s, policymaker/s, labour market representatives, academia. The final results of the project will be presented during final conference with participation of programme beneficieries, stakeholders, students and policy makers.

According to the WHO, in 2022, there were an estimated 20 million new cancer cases and 9.7 million deaths. The proposed project fits perfectly into the Europe's Beating Cancer Plan, in particular the point "Diagnosis and treatment and quality of life of cancer patients". This project combines the expertise of scientists and academic centres from five different countries in three continents who are applying their knowledge at the frontiers of biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics and medicine to find a specific inhibitor for the ATIC enzyme involved in de novo purine biosynthesis. We have developed a number of new peptide-like compounds (and more compounds will be uncovered by bioinformatics tools) and will evaluate their efficacy in inhibiting the dimerisation of the enzyme ATIC monomers. The studies will also be conducted in cancer cell lines and in Drosophila flies. The outcomes can not only improve the health of society, but also provide new insights into metabolic pathways in cancer. The project will involve young and experienced scientists from EU countries, the USA and Australia. Scientists who have previously worked on the interactions of molecules in vitro will learn how to work with animal models and how to conduct in silico studies. Those who have previously used structural spectroscopy techniques in their work will learn physico-chemical methods, e.g. isothermal titration microcalorimetry ( ITC) and microscopic techniques. In addition, European scientists will have the opportunity to improve their ability to communicate and present their work results in English, to enter into new collaborations and to form their own international teams. Up-to-date information about the project will be published on the websites of all consortium partners involved in this project. We also plan to organise at least one live workshop. Every effort will be made to ensure gender balance at all levels of staff involved in the project.

Armenia is the country where the bio-based and agricultural production in general are among the most important economic sectors, where the agricultural scientists, bioscientists and biotechnologists are among the most demanded professions. The modern agricultural and food production sector need skills and credentials that place them above and beyond the crowd. In fact, more than ever, agricultural production sectors, food institutions, corporations, government laboratories and agencies, non-profits, and other industrial sectors are demanding that their science-educated employees also command various business-related skills and entrepreneurship. In parallel there is a big gap between the enterprises and the education, MSc programmes in general are not harmonized with the requirements of the actively growing bio-based products sector. Undressing the national education and science development priorities ABioNet Project is trying to fill the gaps between the education and entrepreneurship and innovation. The ABioNet will create and deliver new curricula on bio products science and technology taking into account the best practices of EU universities within newly established platform for effective collaboration between the universities, research centres and enterprises and to promote innovations in the field of Bio based production. The idea to set up such kind of network within set up resources which are virtually linked in one platform and allowed the mobility of the students and staff between Armenian HEIs and other partner in Armenia and in EU is new in Armenian community.

REDEMOS represents a unique, parallel investigation of the legacy and potential of democratization processes in the EU’s eastern neighbourhood. Analyzing both EU actions and eastern neighbours' responses, balancing the impact of funding, reforms and civil society support against a decade of static and regressive outcomes, REDEMOS is grounded upon an appraisal of domestic and geopolitical challenges facing neighbourhood democratization, and progressive practices needed for both sides to re-engage. With its highly original, 4-phase demos cycle, REDEMOS breaks new ground in demonstrating how revived approaches to understanding norms and values, and reinforced implementation of procedures and practices can fully transform both attitudes and outcomes from passive democracy promotion to active democracy collaboration. Hence, REDEMOS bridges numerous divides emerging between 2010-2022 and focuses on the overarching need to reconstitute a workable ‘demos’ within Eastern partners in light of sizeable political changes including outright opposition to democratization practices from within and beyond the neighbourhood. REDEMOS’ vision shifts attitudes beyond an exclusionary focus on values, norms and procedures, to inclusive democratic practices through citizen empowerment. Featuring a work package female-led structure, REDEMOS presents a series of pioneering milestones and deliverables, based on an equitable balance of 11 high-quality East and West European partners. Its geographical composition is representative of the eastern neighbourhood, with each partner focused on providing advanced tools by which the EU and its eastern neighbours can reset democracy in state and non-state environments. Balancing state reform, civil society, marginalized and local perspectives, and its impactful dissemination modes, REDEMOS effectively co-creates new links within and between academic, policy and civil society domains to boost democratization in Europe’s eastern neighbourhood.
