The purpose of Maximising Cultural Heritage: Educating and Growing (MCHEG) is to maximise the social, economic and educational value of European cultural heritage. The project aims to do this through sharing best practices and using ICT to help business educators to grow the cultural sector and include a diverse and wide range of people in its development. All the organisations in MCHEG are involved in educating individuals and organisations to start up and develop mainstream businesses, social enterprises, and other types of organisations through running classes, courses and workshops. All organisations believe business and social business has the power to help maximise the value of the cultural sector but must also be socially inclusive to do this. MCHEG's objectives were to: - Share best practices around business and enterprise education for cultural heritage organisations and startups. - Look at how cultural heritage can contribute to employment and economic growth and transfer strategies and learning for doing so. - Consider and improve the use of ICT and its application by business and enterprise support organisations. - Look at how we can support others to reach disadvantaged learners and people through ICT strategies. - Increase partner's capacity to operate at a transnational level, share and confront ideas and methods - Look into how educators can help adult learners to start up and grow businesses in the cultural sector. - Improve our use of ICT / digital learning to reach more learners and particularly the disadvantaged in doing this. During the 12 months project there were three main steps in the project activities: - Research and discussion in all the partners' countries of business education to support cultural heritage. - The 5 day training provides a learning platform for business educators to be better equiped to maximise cultural value. - Dissemination of resultsEuropean cultural heritage has great economic and social value - its contribution to job creation, economic growth and social cohesion is well documented (Europe 2020). Materahub are an organisation that are leading in Europe in regard to boosting and transforming the cultural sector and demonstrating the value of European cultural heritage through their education programmes and in turn supporting job creation and economic growth. Along with others in Matera, they have transformed the city from poverty such that the city's transformation through cultural heritage is sometimes known as 'the miracle of Matera'. In 2019 Matera is the European Capital of Culture and this project aimed to take advantage of this high quality learning opportunity to piggyback on this wave of interest and allow Avilys and Red Ochre to learn from Materahub and also share their experiences the other way. Together we learnt new participatory and intercultural approaches to heritage, saw examples of organisations that have benefited from effective business start up and development education in the sector and expanded our skills and competences. All of this meant the organisations involved - as educators themselves - are much better able to design and deliver courses, workshops and programmes for entrepreneurship and organisational education that works with cultural heritage in the future. On a scale of 1(not very)-5(very much), we found that:- Everyone (6 very much) agreed that they had learnt best practices around maximising value through enterprise education.- As a result of the project every single participant said that they had (9 people very much) learnt something new that will help learners to startup and grow businesses in the cultural sector in the future. The added value of of the training was also that it allowed us:- To upgrade our working methodologies, and make contacts with other realities across Europe. For example, the cultural heritage model canvass, mentoring circles, entrepreneurial circles, tips for communications in cultural heritage, marketing, how to engage learners through a long term 10 year vision and how to do it in small bite sized online offerings.Eight out of nine rated themselves as 5 out of 5 (with one, four) for the extent to which the project has helped them to upgrade their working methodologies and that they can use in their own training and education work. Similarly, everyone said that they had learnt more (8 very much, one a lot) about how cultural heritage can contribute to employment and economic growth. We found that the personal aspect of the programme was a revelation and allowed us to effectively share our practice together and make plans for future work. We have already shared results with an Indonesian social entrepreneurship centre, various national enterprise agencies in Lithuania, in social enterprise trainings in London and Matera and others are using our knowledge. We hope to work together again in the future.

Migrants experience higher unemployment and under-employed rates in EU countries than their native citizens (OECD 2013). An especially vulnerable group is migrant women who are subjects of a double-disadvantage as migrants and as women. As lack of employment is one key challenge for them, entrepreneurship has the potential to provide employment. Within this scenario, bolstering business creation among migrant women, is a key strategy to improve the labour market integration through self-employment of migrant women, and help them to reach their full potential while fostering the creation of added value, innovation, productivity and integration in their host countries. The Kaleidoscope project addressed this challenge by developing entrepreneurship training which focuses especially on soft skills needed in entrepreneurship and that is particularly tailored to the needs of migrant women. The Kaleidoscope training has been developed in a consortium of four partners coming from countries with a different history and situation of migration, Finland, France, Italy and the UK, and with complementary expertise in entrepreneurship, migration, vulnerable groups and women, creativity and formal education. The Kaleidoscope entrepreneurship training is delivered face-to-face and on the social learning platform as blended learning using a mix of methods from basic theory of the topic, workshops, action learning, e-learning to personal coaching. The non-formal nature of training and the flexibility in its delivery ensures that learners’ cultural needs and learning styles are being addressed and that the educational background does not limit the participation in training. The target groups of training are:1)Migrant women residing in the EU2)Stakeholders: Migrant trainers and workers, unemployment centres and workers, start-up incubators, social workers, municipalities, policy makers etc. who can organise the training. The Kaleidoscope training is formed of six modules:1) Action Learning and Coaching2) Daily Problem Solving, networking, communication3) Creativity and fun for developing an entrepreneurial mindset + Business modelling as a game4) Entrepreneurship education for migrant women, resilience and entrepreneurship5) Intercultural barriers to access market, learning from the hosting culture and how to adapt it6) Progress and ReflectionThe modules are complemented by additional resources. A competence validation at the beginning of training helps migrant women to detect the competence areas which need most attention and to tailor individual training paths. At the end of the training the competence validation helps to see the progress. In addition, a handbook for self-learning supports individual learning and provides complementary material to training. The development of the training and competence validation benefits from the research and the Kaleidoscope Competence Framework for entrepreneurial support of migrant women developed during the first phase of the project. All the training material are freely available on the Kaleidoscope Social Learning Platform which, besides providing the training materials online, enables discussions, learning and group work through a forum and through cloud tools. Migrant women have the possibility to upload their personal mini CVs on the platform too.The project reports and the handbook are also freely available in the results section of the project website https://www.kaleidoscopeproject.eu/about/results/ in the respective language section.During the project, the Kaleidoscope training was piloted in all partner countries with 54 migrant women of 29 nationalities and four continents: 13 in the UK, 18 in France, 9 in Italy, and 14 in Finland. In addition, 12 of them took part in an international pilot training week. The feedback from the participating women was similar despite their differences. Hence the training seems to be suitable to any national, cultural and educational background. The women felt that the training was highly useful, appropriate and relevant, empowering and increasing their self-belief, and that it helped them during their first steps towards entrepreneurship and in understanding their potential. All the participants showed an increase in mastering entrepreneurial soft skills. The training and the handbook were evaluated positively also by the stakeholders.Based on the highly positive feedback from the target groups and stakeholders, it can be concluded that the Kaleidoscope training addresses well to the needs of all migrant. The training material is the first of its kind, entrepreneurship training specially targeted for migrant women. As the material is also freely available online for all migrant women and for all trainers working with migrants to implement the training, in the future, more migrant women are expected to receive help in their business creation and employment through Entrepreneurship.

"In the context of one of the most disruptive global events in recent history, creativity&wellbeing (WB) are at the forefront of societal resilience. The sector of ""arts, culture, creativity"" is, alongside science, technology&business (3 pillars), pivotal for the development of society and the global economy; WB &quality of life would be drastically undermined by any irreversible harm to either pillar. The current global business model relies on a skills structure that has proven to lack innovative capacity, resilience, and quality in disruptive times. Hence, the need for an integrative paradigm in which creativity and arts are not solely ""the creative economy"" but form part of society's fabric. The core of all these actions was the push to generate WB for the whole society: a consistent attribute that allows for green growth, sustainable job development, rapid adjustment to Industry x.0 while retaining a well-rounded society's basic features. The CIRCLE proposes an innovative approach. It brings together actors from 3 countries, with expertise in entrepreneurship, creativity, digitalization and targets 2 groups: creatives and noncreatives, to upgrade their resilience by building digital, creative and sustainability skills and allow cross-fertilization.The project adds flexibility and structure, with an overarching digital umbrella, supporting the individuals to make better decisions about their businesses or ideas, thus supporting the EC efforts made during the last decade, when CCS have gained increased attention in European Union policymaking.
