Manlio Capitolo TURSIFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2019-1-CZ01-KA229-061106Funder Contribution: 127,512 EUR"This project wants to discover the impact of human activity on our planet, and show what we can do to ensure a sustainable future. For this project we were inspired by Sustainable Development Goals (further SDGs). The general objective of the project is using modern technology and methods of students´ and teachers’ teamwork. Another general objective will be improving communication abilities in foreign languages – English and partner languages. The general objectives are linked to horizontal priority ""Supporting individuals in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competences"".Each school decided to choose one or two of the SDGs. Czech school chose Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, Spanish school Goal 5: Gender Equality, Italian School Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation and Goal 14: Life Below Water, Polish school Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Goal 13: Climate Action. Because we will be working as the team we will all use Goal 17: Partnerships to achieve the Goal. Above mentioned goals from the SDGs correspond with three specific objectives Energy and resources, Environment and climate change, Gender equality.HORIZONTAL priority is ""Social and educational value of European cultural heritage, its contribution to job creation, economic growth and social cohesion"" - we believe that all participants will get knowledge, abilities and skills which could help them to get interesting jobs and better life. We think that if we offer the students joining in projects like that we can motivate students to finish their education. That is another priority ""SCHOOL EDUCATION Tackling early school leaving and disadvantage"".The specific project objective is the realization of 4 activities and creating outputs (web pages, presentations, photo documentation, excursions, lectures, articles to media, leaflets, study materials, newsletters, noticeboards etc.). The hosted school will prepare the program for the activity concerning the goal(s) - first all contributions of partner schools will be presented by students. The following task will be to prepare the output from the activity where the activity will be described, all school contributions will be presented and finally the conclusion will be shown. Participants will be teachers and students (age 15-17), specialists of cooperating institutions, members of local communities and school authorities from local school governments. We will choose at least 5 teachers who will be involved in the project directly and teachers who will be familiarised with the project outputs. From each school there will be chosen at least 15 students who will take part directly in the project and learning activities and at least 30 ones who will take part in local activities in each country. But we are planning to present the project to other students and teachers and let them use the project outputs. The main goals of learning activity (LA) gender equality will be to make students conscious about discrimination against women, forced marriages and genital mutilation; to learn about equal rights. The main goals of LA the path of water will be to enhance students’ commitment on water and to spread the value of water in different cultures. The main goals of LA clean energy will be to understand the ways of producing energy; to realise the importance of using alternative sources of energy and to learn how to save the energy. The main goals of LA climate change and zero hunger will be to understand causes of climate change; to understand how human activities effect environment; to learn about climate change facts, how these changes affect agriculture and cause hunger and to familiarize students with “planetary diet” and how it can save the planet. The topics are related to world awareness about life so they will be integrated to the schools easily. The main method used will be Experiential Education which enables support of creative approaches, active negotiations, creating informal relations and learning from experience. The basic activity will constitute the workshops. We will try to involve collaborative learning in workshops. Teachers will use the all above mentioned methods in their future work. We believe that our teachers and students will get experience with using eTwinning and Erasmus+ platforms and will use them in their future work and for other projects. Implementation of the project goals into teaching makes study attractive. All participants will learn to work independently, and they will solve tasks and communicate in foreign language. Theoretical teaching will be connected with practice because of excursions and workshops during mobility. The impact will be local but thanks to the publication and promotion of the project the impact will be at the national level and through the involvement of partners in dissemination activities there will be impact on the European level. We make sure that the knowledge gained during SDG will be disseminated and worked again in every school."

In addition, this project provides an opportunity to continue the European dimension of education and contributes significantly to the overall quality and credibility of the school in the wider region. The main goal of the project is to create a sense of social responsibility for proper functioning of Earth and foster the environmental behavior of individuals, pointing out the necessity of rational energy consumption, importance of the renewable resources and their possible usage in the Slovak Republic. However, the aim is also to highlight the secondary contribution to the energy savings and renewable sources which are inseparably linked to their usage. We have chosen this project theme in order to increase the awareness of our students and other project participants about the current conditions related to the energy sources, which capacity is limited and can be depleted in the near future. We want the participants to understand that this is a worldwide problem and we would like to focus the attention to this issue from the global perspective. In this project we intend to increase the attractiveness of the innovative teaching methods and acquire new knowledge about this matter. At the same time we would like to pass this valuable knowledge to all participants of the project and to the general public through the mass and information media. Due to a visibly decreasing popularity of this tuition area, we are going to make every effort to increase the interest and awareness of students for science and ecology education and choose the most convenient and innovative methods of teaching, such as project learning, global education, brainstorming, e-learning etc. We also have intention to focus the students’ alertness to the limited and deplorable energy resources. The project is aimed at the following target groups: science teachers, who consider including new, innovative methods in the physics, chemistry, ecology and biology curriculum. The first and second grade students of the secondary schools are another aimed group, because those subjects are included in their education program. The curriculum of those subjects contains topics about energy production, its impact on the environment and saving the energy as well. The estimated number of project participants is 50 persons. We are going to realize activities with tangible and intangible intellectual outcomes during the project meetings. The students will contribute to the discussion at the international conference. They will present their ideas, opinions and Power-point presentations on “The Analysis of the Energy Sources in My Country”. The comparative analytic study material “The Analysis of the Energy Sources in Our Countries” will be published as a result of this conference. The excursions to various power plants will be realized in each participating country during the project meetings according to their possibilities and conditions. To reach the next intellectual outcome, the multimedia DVD – “The Safe Energy – the Energy for the Future”, the international film crew will be formed from the deputy members of each participating school. They will gather the films, shots, pictures and documents about the project activities and achieved results. A part of the DVD will also contain a statistical questionnaire assessment. The questionnaire with title “Do We Save the Electric Energy?” should provoke students to think about their attitudes towards the environment. In order to improve the exchange of experience from implementation of innovative methods in tuition, an open class with title “Impact of Energy Sources on Environment in Last 20 Years and Means of Reducing Impact“ will be held. The main intellectual output will be mutual information exchange between participating countries, between students and teachers and also among teachers themselves about various possibilities and effects of innovative tuition methods. The participants will evaluate the impacts of usage of these new methods from perspective of attitude shaping and gaining permanent and practical knowledge in areas of environmental education, electricity production and conservation. They will also have a chance to exchange information regarding new and safe possibilities of electricity production at a specialized seminar with title “Safe Energy” that will be accompanied by various workshops. The result of this specialized seminar will be a pedagogical material with title “Safe Energy – Energy for the Future”, published as a paper brochure. The long term potential gains lie in educating the participants towards positive attitude to environmentalism, which they will transfer onto people in their neighborhood.

The general objective of the project was using modern technology and methods of students and teachers’ teamwork from different European countries to recognize cultural differences in the context of the unique history of each country and the common history of Europe. This also reflected the choice of partner countries and specific schools. The participants were students at the age 14-18; from each school at least 15 ones who participated directly at activities and 60 others, 5 teachers from each school who directly participated and other school stuff who participated at local activities, invited experts and local authorities. The specific objective was realization of four activities. The main goal of activities was recognizing the open air museums of national history – ethnographic museums in partners´ countries, meeting original crafts, seeing how the national heritage was kept for the future in each country, learning national traditions etc. The main method used in the project activities was Experiential Education. This method enabled support of creative approaches, active negotiations, creating better informal relations and particularly intense learning from experience. Research shows that students who joined “learning outside the classroom programs” have significantly improved early career outcomes over those who do in-class studies only. Experience education gave all participants of Erasmus+ projects unforgettable experiences. That is why we used the method “workshops” for our project. During workshops students worked in international teams, they had different roles in the team. Teachers were also parts of the teams in the role of a team member or mentor. During workshops we implemented methods of teamwork, collaborative learning, learning from each other. Because the teams were international so students and teachers had to communicate in English so they developed their communication and social skills. The workshops were led either by invited experts or school teachers, sometimes both. During workshops participants got new knowledge and skills which they shared later with their schoolmates and other teachers but also with their friends and family members. It was very valuable experience also for invited experts and quests because for most of them it was the first time to lead the workshop like that. We managed to organise following workshops during the activities in the Czech Republic, Romania, Poland and Spain: wooden toys, pottery, carpenter´s techniques, corn husk decorations, soaps, herb bags, cinnamon rings, knitting, embroidery, lavender wreath, willow tree whistle, bread making, pottery, painting pottery and shoemaking.Outputs are: presentations and description of all learning activities, description of visited open air museums of national history and village life, description of workshops where participants learnt and tried original crafts, cookery book with original recipes from all participating countries, description of some national traditions, description and comparing national educational systems. photographs, project web, creating ""interactive map"". Each of the participating schools processed outputs with emphasis on the area in which the school is unique and contacted to competent experts and institutions in this area and therefore there was potential for the transfer of these unique skills. These outputs were dealt with in advance of relevant learning activities and interactive way then presented to participants from other countries, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, sightseeing tours and excursions. Based on feedback from these events the outputs where processed to their final form. The important part was also dissemination of the project at all schools during project days, open days for public, parents meetings, at local institutions, local media. Students created noticeboards at the main entrances to schools so each school visitor can meet the Erasmus project. The project has impact on the whole schools - teachers, students and staff, parents and families – participants shared with them their experiences, new skills and knowledge; local institutions which where involved to the project. During the activities we were welcomed by authorities at local institutions and regional school departments where we had opportunity to introduce the project. The authorities could speak to all participants from different schools. We wanted and we mean we managed to show all participants and other users of created outputs that the history, culture and traditions of individual countries are vital part of society. They can be known by a fun and interactive way to contribute understanding and development of cooperation between European nations. Participants got known different culture and customs, but also they learnt to think about their own culture and traditions in a broader context."

It is necessary to involve students in activities aimed at knowing and respecting the traditions specific to ethnics living in the entire Europe. By knowing national identities values, by discovering links between different ethnics and nationalities, the students can develop skills that transform them from inhabitants of a multicultural city into responsible European citizens, open-minded to the added value that multicultural variety brings.Because in the first 6 months of 2019 Romania holds the rotating Presidency of the EU Council, through our Erasmus project, we basically aim to the Romanian Presidency priorities: cohesion and a common European value. The coordinator school is 'Gh. Sincai' Technological High School - Tirgu Mures (Romania); the partner schools are: Stredni odborne uciliste elektrotechnicke - Plzen (Czech Rep., IIS Verona Trento - Messina (Italy), 4 Epal Kavalas - Kavala (Greece) and Suleyman Demirel Anatolian High School - Ankara (Turkey). Objective 1 aims at the formation of intercultural skills among students and teachers by participating in activities such as: traditional crafts workshops (painting in marbling technique, wooden objects, corn husk decorations etc.), the winter traditions festival (in which the students will have their own artistic moments), guided visits of the touristic objectives from the countries involved, eTwinning project, flash mob, games, debates, exhibitions etc. The eTwinning project will have the theme 'The Religious Diversity of My City'. Through the eTwinning project we will straighten the connection between the participants school, by combining virtual with physical exchange. Objective 2 aims to improving language, communication and social skills at all the participants. Objective 3 aims to develop management skills for key project team members. Through the activities carried out in the project, we also aim to develop open, flexible relationships with local authorities. The three objectives will be achieved through 5 international learning, teaching and training activities, and other 21 non-funded activities to be developed in all the partner schools. The direct beneficiaries of the project are 80% of the students (15-18 years) and teachers of the schools involved. The target group of the project consists in 125 students (15-18 years) of the 5 partner schools (25 students x 5 schools) as well as 100 teaching staff from the 5 schools (20 teachers x 5 schools). Indirect beneficiaries will be: the families of the students involved, members of the local community, institutions and local authorities collaborating in the project etc.The main method used in the learning activities will be Experiential Education, 'learning by doing' and 'peer to peer learning'. These methods will enable creative thinking, active negotiations, creating better informal relations and particularly intense learning from experience rather than simply collecting information. The results of the activities that will lead us to achieving the objectives are both tangible (artistic moments with traditional dances, films with project activities, traditional objects made by students during workshops, PowerPoint presentations, posters, Erasmus corners, trees planted in the ""Erasmus Forest"", project magazine (6 issues) in digital and physical format etc.), and intangible (website, Facebook account, eTwinning project, acquisition of information about the cultural environment of the cities and countries from which the participating schools come from, development of the participants' linguistic and interpersonal skills, development of institutional management skills, raising awareness about interculturality issues etc.).The impact on the participants will be: improving their intercultural, linguistic, communication and social skills, increasing students and teachers motivation to be involve in non-formal activities on interculturality, a better understanding of traditional values etc.; for the school management teams: improving the management skills of partner schools, increasing the schools prestige, increasing the capacity to establish collaboration relations that can be used in new projects in the future, improving the attention on foreign languages in our schools; for the local community: a greater openness to the traditional values of the different ethnic communities, a greater awareness of the problems faced by citizens of other ethnicities and a greater involvement of individuals in taking initiatives to improve this situation. After the project end, we will continue to capitalize the results obtained in the project by organizing new activities on interculturality topic: intercultural club for students, new eTwinning projects, new Erasmus+ projects."
