KG,Technical University of Sofia,MAK AD,MCIFunder: European Commission Project Code: 612248-EPP-1-2019-1-BG-EPPKA2-KAFunder Contribution: 999,185 EURThe aim of the project is to develop a curriculum and syllabuses that meet the requirements of the business to the specialists working in the textile and clothing industry (TCI).The project responds to the tremendous need for engineers, especially those who can work with CAD, CAM, CAE and PLM systems requiring a higher level of ICT proficiency. The curriculum of Application of ICT in Design of Textile and Clothing will provide knowledge and skills for design and production of textiles and clothing, as well as basic ICT and entrepreneurial skills. Both target groups are young people: those looking for their professional realization in TCI, and those who already work in TCI but need to improve their qualification. In order to meet the new requirements, a preliminary survey among European companies to specify their needs is foreseen. The long-term training experience of the partners as well as the obtained results of the survey will allow the development of a curriculum, the content of which will be in line with the determined requirements. Prior to its final approval, it will be discussed with industry chambers and associations in partner countries. The syllabus will be structured in modules. Some of them will be suitable for all kinds of production, for example, Introduction to ICT, Quality Control, Entrepreneurship, etc., others will be targeted at a particular production, such as Design and Production of Knitwear, etc.Individual modules will be developed by university lecturers, with the active involvement of consortium associations, a cluster, companies and a continuous training centre. It will be done in separate work packages, with a leading partner for each package depending on the specifics of the module and participant’s expertise. The new courses will be entirely practical, interactive and suitable for distance learning, which is an advantage for people already working.Course materials will be available through both the AUTEX site and the project website.
