Young people with fewer opportunities begin their lives with a disadvantage over which they rarely gain control over time. For various reasons (poverty, learning difficulties, etc.) the society segregates this group of people and as a result, they only become more disadvantaged and gradually hopeless. Just as the European Union, the project partners also recognise that this tendency is an enormous waste of human talent and potential which is not only devastating for the marginalized individual, but also harmful for the society as a whole.Young, marginalized people must be reintegrated into the society. The project partners agree that the best way to do that is through strengthening young people’s transversal skills that will help them play an active role in their communities and to take control over their own lives. In particular to the Erasmus+ Programme, Youth Exchanges offer the greatest opportunity for the marginalized youth to develop and strengthen their soft skills – entrepreneurial, social and communicative skills, etc.Although many of the Activities of the Programme prioritize the recognition of competences, there is a lack of tools when it comes to assessing their improvement.Specific Needs and Challenges Addressed1. A strong need for recognition of soft skills and competences in the field of youth. This can’t be reached without a potent way of measuring the improvement of above mentioned skills. However, there is a lack of tools and methods measuring the impact of projects that improve skills and competencies of the marginalized youth.2. The marginalised youth faces circumstances that make their social inclusion cumbersome. They are prone to social passivity and there is a significant need for reinforcing their skills and self-image in order to reintegrate into the society.Accordingly, the following goals have been identified:1. Creation of assessment tools in order to measure the impact of youth exchanges on the transversal skills and competences of young people.2. Strengthening the transversal skills of young marginalized people and facilitating their recognition.3. Re-integration of marginalized people into the society through improved materials that improve the quality of projects targeting them. The project partners have agreed to organize a Seminar to gather accurate and reliable information (assessment methods and tools) as well as a Youth Exchange to test the project outputs created. The project directly reaches young people and youth leaders from each of these participating countries with special regards to the marginalized youth.

EurAsian Social ActiveNation (EUASAN) aimed to foster trans-continental cooperation in community development (CD) between countries and organizations of Europe (Greece, Spain, Hungary) and Asia (India, Vietnam). The main aim was to enhance the quality of youth work’s impact on local communities in a measurable way in order to fight discrimination, exclusion, poverty and unemployment by using non formal education, sport and physical activity as a tool. We have chosen Education through Sport (ETS) methods as the combination of sport and learning provides and excellent opportunity to learn through activities that are enjoyable, highly emotional and based on active participation and involvement. It’s a natural way, a learning that even brings people close to each other. It’s full of fun and passion and with right planning and methodology it results in powerful learning outcomes for youth workers and leaders. In EUASAN we used the educational aspect of sport from pedagogical prospective to foster non formal learning practice and in it’s context provoke a positive social change. It’s part of the life-long learning process that aims to improve knowledge, attitude and skills of participants while fostering active citizenship and social transformation in the communities it may be applied in.During the project we trained youth workers to become trainers in NFE and in the field of Education through Sport and teach them how to apply it's methods in their various work area with communities (be it rural, marginalized, with fewer opportunities etc.). An e-toolkit has ensured dissemination and offered the possibility for other organizations to use it for their benefit even if they have no experience in NFE and ETS field. The website Euasan.org hosted the activities during the project cycle and it will offer information for three more years As an outcome, EUASAN project established EurAsian transnational long term cooperation and build up a network between Europe and Asia. This network will enhance intercultural learning, knowledge transfer, mobility and youth empowerment that will collect and disseminate information to other organizations interested in youth work field/education and cultural cooperation possibilities between these two regions. Activities implemented during the project:Kick off Meeting (GREECE, AENAO)Training Course I (INDIA, DISHA ) “Development & leadership for community development”. With this project, youth workers can develop practical experience in social media campaigns and implementation, and will be aware of the causes of climate change. Young people can gain awareness of small details and individual responsibilites by examining the causes of climate. “VOICE” intends to develop structured innovative actions towards increasing the quality of international volunteering mobility (IVM) and building capacity of the youth organizations actively engaged in transnational learning mobility, both sending and receiving international volunteers. VOICE aims to promote IVM as a way to boost youths’ employability potential, foster active European citizenship and feeling as citizens of the world, overcome passivity of younger Europeans and create environment for increasing quality of the IVM supporting organizations. The project has particular importance in terms of evaluating and revising experiences by the 20th anniversary of EVS and recent announcement of the new Commission’s initiative such as European Solidarity Corps. In particular, the project creates new learning tools aimed to support training providers in partner countries and increase quality to On-arrival service provided to European volunteers attending services in partner countries. The project also directly contributes to increasing employability potential of young people throughout providing EVS services to 18 European young people with fewer opportunities, particularly NEETs. The proposal has a special added value due to the innovative cross-sectorial approach and an Open Education Resource development. It’s project objectives contribute to proving youth opportunity “to acquire and develop a mix of knowledge, skills and aptitudes they need to succeed in the labour market” [COM(2010) 682 final].VOICE specific objectives are:- to build capacity of the youth workers and organizations working or intending to start working in the field of cross-continental IVM projects and with ESC initiative; - to capitalize previous outcomes in the field of IVM support and ensure quality transfer of the best practices in the field;- to build personal and professional capacity as training providers of the youth workers from IVM RO based in partner countries;- to create new learning tools based on capitalized outcomes that will contribute to increasing quality of youth work and support provided to European volunteers;- to create opportunity for fostering skills and capacities of European NEETs with an eye to support them in fostering employability potential and further re/enter the labour market;- to promote active citizenship, volunteering and non-formal learning in partner countries.VOICE is innovative because it is made to capitalize existing knowledge on supporting IVM and revise current frameworks of organizational support prior to step into ESC. The project also brings innovative character by its outputs: OER, toolkit and the Glob-bloG. The Glob-bloG (youtube channel with video diaries merged with webpage and social networks pages) is unique communication and dissemination channel targeted specially to peers; it is also a tool to support volunteers during VOICE in gathering new transversal & ICT skills demanded at the current labor market in EU.
