The total duration of the project was 18 months as it was implemented in partnership between „Together For A Safer Future“ Foundation (Lead partner, Bulgaria); Mayo County Council (Ireland); „VSI Socialiniai paramos projektai” (Lithuania) and AHEAD (Romania). The main objective of the project was successfully achieved, namely through sharing, upgrading, analyzing ideas and good practices in working with young people and vulnerable groups, cooperation between a wide range of partners active in the field of youth activities. A new integrated approach and model for work with youth has been developed jointly by applying a new set of methods in relation to the use of the principles of emotional intelligence and the „win-lose” approach to creating practical and interactive sports animation activities as an instrument to prevent and control aggression, tolerance and non-discrimination. This approach allows better reach and work with young disadvantaged people or such with fewer opportunities (especially those with cultural differences belonging to a national / ethnic minority) in order to promote their inclusion and equal opportunities.Through the involvement of partners with different profile and experience in various sectors, the project not only internationalized youth work but also allowed greater flexibility of work in variety of action fields related to young people by expanding opportunities for wider access to target groups and stakeholders. With the implementation of the project, quality and accessibility in non-formal learning and youth work was achieved by supporting the development and dissemination of a new integrated model for communicating with marginalized young people and preventing youth racism and intolerance, by enhanced cooperation between organizations with different profile and role in the area of youth work.Partner organizations were given the opportunity to exchange experience and innovative solutions in youth work related to increasing knowledge and acceptance of diversity in society, combating racism, discrimination and segregation of young people with fewer opportunities. Through the implemented project activities, the capacity of the youth workers in the field of providing attractive forms of sports activities and engaging the leisure time of disadvantaged young people, fostering their development, emotional intelligence and the promotion of social inclusion and equal opportunities was enhanced. Two Intellectual products have been developed within the range of the project: - Common Analysis with guidelines for further joint actions - Developed in the first stage of project implementation. Research activities have been carried out by each partner in the region where he works. The issues that have been studied and analyzed are: the degree of engagement and activity (participation in extra-curricular activities) of pupils and young people, their attitudes towards peers of divergence origins and cultures (for example those coming from minorities, refugees, etc.), the main factors that influence their view of cultural distinctions and how they shape their behavior in terms of „the different ones”, the main challenges that disadvantaged young people face in their daily lives in reference to the socialization, the real needs and expectations of young people with fewer opportunities, as well as the assessment of the attitudes and behavior of their peers. The wider application and promotion of non-formal education was achieved by the guidelines for joint actions included in the analysis as per the specific characteristics of the covered regions, whereby the recommendations developed could be used by other organizations working with disadvantaged young people.- Manual for using emotional intelligence training in entertainment & sport animation as a new tool in youth work for conflict resolution and prevention of aggressive behaviors towards those with disadvantaged backgrounds - The Manual is based on the results of the research activities and the joint work of experts and youth workers. It would contribute to future initiatives and actions giving an overall vision of what and how these could be used to achieve strategic goals and long-term effects.Other tangible results: - Plan for promotion and communication - Its main objective is to ensure proper planning and organization of effective communication with selected audiences in order to attract attention and interest to participate and actively involve further implementing initiatives based on the project outcomes, in particular with regard to the Manual

"Restaurant industry generates tons of trash by using oil, packaging ingredients, napkins, straws, disposable cutlery and wasting huge amounts of food. According to the European Commission, 88 million tonnes of food are wasted annually in the European Union. That is about 143 billion euros and 3.3 gigatonnes of CO2 emissions. As a matter of fact, one third of food produced globally is lost, either during processing or at a retail or consumer level, the latter being more common for industrialized countries. In Europe, around 12% of total food waste comes from food services. Zero Waste should be priority in restaurants. Considering this situation we as socially responsible organization (for 14 years working with socially excluded people and training them to become cooks, waitress in the salad bar ""Mano Guru""), maintaining socially responsible restaurant business, this time have decided to take part in 2nd direction of International Zero waste network and take challenge - to work on reduction of restaurant industry’s ecological footprint while combining the forces of socially and environmentally responsible restaurant business and vocational schools and raise awareness of zero waste by educating future professionals of catering field from vocational schools, aiming to use 100 percent of each ingredient in cooking process. In order to raise awareness and educate students not just locally, but as well at international level, we aim to set an international comprehensive analysis on zero waste situation in our and partner countries, create and support Zero waste community and work on development of Zero waste Methodology module for VET schools in accordance with the professional standard of the cookery course, the standard of vocational education and training, the methodology of the development of modular vocational training programs, the concept of the development of the modular vocational training system, the legal acts of the partner countries with an aim to get the Module accreditation and include into the cookery qualification programme as an optional module.During the project 4 intellectual outputs will be carried out:IO1 - Comparison and Analysis of Zero Waste Situation IO2 - Development of methodology for zero waste trainings module in vocational schoolsIO3 - Platform of 0 - WASTE Community IO4 - 0 - WASTE Recommended Methodological Material for Practical TrainningsExpected results of project are: - to develop free and open educational resources: methodology of zero waste module (IO1) and Guidance Methodological Tool for Practical Trainings (IO4) for VET schools with an aim to get the Module accreditation and include into the cookery qualification programme as an optional module.- to sustain fruitful partnership of VET schools and socially, environmentally responsible restaurant business at local and international level;- to raise awareness and provide professional skills on zero waste lifestyle while teaching students to use sustainable approach in cooking;- to create international community of Zero Waste lifestyle supporters; In this project 4 different countries from Lithuania, Portugal, Italy, Austria (5 organizations) are participating involved in the project due to experience projects objectives and geographical diversity. This project is a small step towards sustainable future and the example for others how to go O-WASTE."

"From 2013 to 2015 a European project was held (in Italy promoted, among others, by the Beniamino Cooperative, in close collaboration with the Slow Food Island Elba Convivium and the Porto Azzurro House of Reclusion). The project which had the title ""Taste of Freedom"" also involved some foreign partners, including Lithuania, Turkey, Portugal and the island of Gran Canaria. From that experience emerged the need to open a reflection on the role of vocational training and work in the prison system and on experiences of local roots as a resource for greater effectiveness of the training system aimed at risky social categories such as that of the detainees. From these assumptions was born the project Cooking for freedom that aims to build and promote training programs in partner countries with the aim of stimulating synergies aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the integration capacity of the prison and training system. The project partners have identified and shared some premises without which it is difficult to think that professional training in prison can become a real opportunity for reintegration:• given the particularity of the reference target, there is the risk that training will become a mere filling activity, with a low rehabilitation and reintegration value;• vocational training activities require the strong support of a network external to the prison institution because only in this way can they be really effective;• often some paths may be affected by the subjective difficulties expressed by the subjects to whom they are addressed, linked to their particular condition and lack of familiarity with structured working contexts;• on many occasions there is a risk of corporate distrust about the potential of the recipients and the effectiveness of the courses;• the possibility, also for young people included in the classical training courses, to integrate their collaboration with institutional realities and experiment in integration paths, can increase empowerment and investment in their training path.Following the analysis and sharing of the main problems identified, concrete objectives of the project are:• create and test models of pilot training courses, built with the collaboration between the prison institution, educational institutions and a wide territorial network of associations and companies that deal with catering and food;• develop strategic skills of qualified personnel in order to achieve integration among the various organizations, to identify the needs of the labor market and achieve the final objective in relation to them;• develop a network, also at EU level, capable of promoting the reintegration of trained prisoners into work;• promote the exchange of best practices between the partnership, reproducible and useful at European level, in order to promote adult learning processes in detention and a more effective collaboration between the prison institution and training institutions;• gathering useful recommendations to support effective labor policies and the inclusion of disadvantaged adults;• promote internships and internships that integrate the presence of subjects coming from classical training courses and adult subjects coming from specific training courses. The project partners were chosen according to different criteria. Some of them participated in the previous project ""Taste of Freedom"" and for this reason they wanted to take part in a new project that somehow was the continuation and deepening (Cooperative Beniamino, Slow Food Elba Island, Turkey, Portugal). Other partners were contacted on the basis of their experiences in prison and in training. In fact, in the context of Cooking for Freedom, Lithuania is also involved, with an association that takes care of reintegrating it to work through the management of a salad restaurant bar in Vilnius. Each partner, however, operates at various levels within the prison institutions of their country of origin. As part of the partnership, the tasks necessary to carry out the project were well distributed according to the skills of each one:- Skills in research and quality control- Ability to contact international institutions to disseminate results- Ability to carry out high quality training for social workers- Ability to disseminate and evaluate the results of the project. In each partner country, dissemination and dissemination initiatives have been organized and the website that collects the experiences made is active. Furthermore, the Guide for Guidelines for the organization of professional courses in prison is being drafted, a goal of the project."
