Digital Youth work is not a youth work method but instead it can be included in any youth work setting (open youth work, youth information and counselling, youth clubs, detached youth work, ect.) and they both share the same goals. This definition is given by the EC Publication: “Developing Digital Youth Work - Expert Group Set Up under the European Union Work Plan for Youth 2016-2018” that also highlights the importance in this new digital era, to upskill youth workers’ digital competences, in particular in these specific fields (to be added/combined to the most traditional key competences already set for youth work, such as non-formal learning, management of mobility and volunteering projects, facilitation skills, etc): •Using Social Media in Sharing Information•Online Youth Counselling•Support Digital Literacy•Enabling Participation with Digital Tools•Supporting Cultural Youth Work online•Supporting the development of technological skills•Using Digital Games in Youth WorkThe project DIGITAL YOUTH WORKER: “Open education and innovative practices for the capacity building of Youth Workers in the digital era” is intend to be the follow-up (phase 2) of the previously implemented Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project: EU-NET:“Enhancing a Universal Guide and Network for the Youth Workers of the Future” that was coordinated by GoEurope and had the main objective of sharing good practices and helping define the state of the art of Youth Work in Europe, including the development of different useful digital tools for youth workers and the creation of a solid network, still active to date (www.eu-network.net and its social media). Thus, building on the foundations of the previous EU-NET project, DIGITAL YOUTH WORKER aims to:c)Map and develop a dedicated Competency Framework for Digital Youth Workers d)Develop a dedicated e-learning platform for Digital Youth Workers and its Testing (e-Training and Modules, based on the previously developed Competency Framework).DIGITAL YOUTH WORKER also addresses the recommendation of “developing tools and methods that allow a better match to the needs of the local community[ies]” (EC, 2017), besides supporting the following Erasmus+ KA2 objectives:•Building capacity and modernising youth work;•New methods and training opportunities to build young people’s key competences;•More strategic and integrated use of ICTs and open educational resources (OER) in education, training and youth systems; •Sharing best practices, promoting high quality youth work and build on the competencies of youth workers; •Increasing the opportunities for youth workers’ professional development by building on the staff competencies, validating learning, encouraging active citizenship of young people•Better understanding and recognition of skills and qualifications about youth work in Europe•Increased quality of education and training and youth work in Europe and beyond: combining higher levels of excellence and attractiveness with increased opportunities for all.The partnership is composed by 3 organizations active in the field of youth work, mobility, volunteering and non-formal learning, representing 3 different Programme Countries: Spain,Bulgaria and Italy, that share different practices and understandings about youth work, so this will add an international dimension to the project and will help create a better understanding about the diversities and similarities of youth workers and the use of digital skills. Each partner will be involved in a different set of tasks according to their specific expertise (i.e. they will be responsible for the mapping and development of a valid competency framework for Digital Youth Workers, applicable in each European Country;developing the e-learning platform with online training modules specific for digital youth work,to be pilot tested on min. 60 people). Main Target groups of the project are:• Youth workers/facilitators/trainers and young leaders who are in general working in the youth and digital fields, organizing seminars, training courses, youth exchanges, workshops as well as managing the EVS (now European Solidarity Corps) programme. •NGOs,Associations,Foundations,Informal Groups of Youth,Municipalities,Development agencies and Universities working in the aforementioned sectors. •Old and future volunteers and “wannabe” youth workers among other interested parties; •Policy Makers, Public & Private Stakeholders. Furthermore, the indirect beneficiaries of this project will be the participants of future mobility/training and volunteering projects, as they will benefit of a higher quality standard experience and they will receive a better first-hand mentoring as well as an improved follow-up from remote by using upgraded digital skills.Additional beneficiaries will be identified by each partner at local, regional, national and European level.

It could be accounted as an intangible asset if it is valuable, and the company owners preserve and improve in order to increase the value of the company and make it more recognizable which will result in more sales.Extroverted is defined as someone who is open, sociable and talkative, that is directed outwards.A combination of the above two in a strategy for an organization leads only to positive results. The logo and the name of the company become more recognizable, the value of the company increases which at the end will result in improvement of the position of the company and increase of sales. Moreover, the company becomes more open in new challenges, like exporting and reaching new markets, inside or outside its country, willing to explore new ways of trading, either through the internet or through resellers. We found that this branding and extroversion approach is lacking in SMEs, but it is necessary for the success and the available information, literature, training are not customized for SMEs, are too difficult, deep and complex for the SMEs. Our main aim was to develop and make available a comprehensive but understandable handbook and training program with developed background materials which really can help for the opened members of the target groups.Aims and Objectives The main aim of the implemented project is to provide the tools and training materials to members of the target group in order to develop an attitude of extroversion and brand their product or services, which will result to the increase of sale and the beginning or increasing of exports.Furthermore, the project aimed at:• Promoting in the partner countries the culture of extroversion for an organization• Promote and develop branding strategies for the products or services of an organization• Develop a state of the art guide regarding extroversion and branding, as well as drafting a European report regarding these two sectors and their impacts in other organizationsPartnership:The partnership was formed by 5 experienced and professional organizations from 4 different EU countries representing chamber of commerce, private organizations, small and medium enterprises. All partners already offered training, education, advice & guidance to the target groups. EUROSUCCESS CONSULTING LTD - Cyprus Tsaltampasi Apostolina and CO - GreeceThe main activities carried out:- National and European research O1The main purpose of the desk and filed research was to define the main areas of interest for entrepreneurs who want to develop their branding strategy and extroversion policy, to understand the cutting edge theories, at EU and international level on branding and extroversion of the entrepreneurship approach, the perceived training needs to this, the point of view of stakeholders, intermediaries and relevant organizations.(Guidelines, best practices, literary review, interview, questionnairy, national report, final report)- Development of the Branding Hadbook O2The Handbook was carefully constructed for existing or potential entrepreneurs, managers of SMEs and start-ups to give an overview about the necessity and importance of branding. It is not a marketing book guiding you step by step through marketing strategy and extrovert approach; however it presents the key points which show how to build up a brand. It sets out the targets which have to be fulfilled whilst creating a brand, for example: establishing a company image, name, whilst also maintaining a consistent approach throughout.(Guidelines, content deveopment, internal testing, fine tuning, translation- Development of the Methodology Pack O3Based on the results of the Final Report of the National and European Research, the trainers guidelines was developed. This was followed by the training of trainers and the translation of the finalized materials. The developed materials provide the opportunity for the future train the trainers session.(Layout-gudelines, Trainers Guidelines content development, evaluation, fine tuning, train the trainers, finalization, translation)- Development of the Training Materials O3Based on the results of the Final Report of the National and European Research, the training materials was developed. This was follod by the internal testing, fine tuning, translation, pilot testing and finalization of the materials. With the project implementation we reached that greater attention is focused the branding, brand building and extrovert entrepreneurial attitude. As a result of our activity it has become available a useful and effective Branding Handbook and a tested complex training program in filed of branding and extrovert entrepreneurial attitude.

The European Commission supports the recognition and validation of youth work. The European Youth Strategy (2009) points out the need ‘to equip youth workers with professional skills and promote their validation through the appropriate European instruments (Europass, EQF, ECVET)’. The 2010 Brussels Resolution on youth work invites the Commission to develop ‘instruments for the documentation of competences of youth workers and youth leaders which would help to recognise and evaluate the quality of youth work in Europe.’Youth organisations can use the BADU Open Badges to validate competencies or achievements of youth workers (for example learning or mastering specific tasks, developing work-related basic and transversal skills, mentoring peers to support their learning, etc). Youth workers, youth educators and volunteers, who work in the youth sector can use the BADU Open Badges to validate social competencies, which are usually not certified by formal or higher education. Open Badges can be collected by different sources and can be stored into a virtual portfolio that can be downloaded and printed in pdf format. The BADU Open Badges are based on the principles of gamification- the application of game-design elements and game principles in educational and work contexts to improve user engagement, flow and learning. A BADU open badge is a file of the shape of an icon issued to prove skills and/or achievements of youth workers, youth educators and volunteers active in youth work and non-formal learning. The file of a BADU Open Badge contains metadata such as the name of the issuer, learning targets, performance requirements, evidence verifying the credential and expiry date. Youth organisations and youth centres can use the BADU open badges to recognise formal, non-formal and informal learning or achievements (for example learning or mastering specific job tasks, developing work related basic and transversal skills, mentoring peers to support their learning, etc). Youth educators, youth workers and volunteers can use the BADU open badges to show easily their own competencies, as open badges can be shared on social media and online platforms. The BADU project consortium comprises 4 youth organisations from Germany - Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. that is the coordinator, Italy - EduMoby, Latvia - Zemgale NGO Centre and Spain - GoEurope. The project consortium has developed a Guidebook which explains briefly and concisely to youth organisations how to issue and award Open Badges that are divided into 2 categories: youth mobility and non-formal learning; and showcases to youth workers, youth educators and volunteers, how to claim their BADU Open Badges. It also highlights the advantages of using the BADU Open Badges and explains how the Open Badges can validate youth workers, youth educators and volunteers' competencies. 55 BADU Open Badges and Metabadges have been created by the project consortium that refer to youth mobility and non-formal learning. At the beginning the project consortium developed 100 Open Badges in total but after receiving feedback from youth workers and youth organisations as well as from an expert in youth work from TU Dresden, the project consortium decided to reduce the number of the Open Badges so that they correspond to the needs of the target groups. This change was discussed with the NA of Germany that approved this decision. A Catalogue of Good Practices has been developed by the project consortium which includes experiences and good practices of youth workers, youth educators and volunteers inside and outside the project partner consortium where they describe how they benefited from the use of the BADU Open Badges and how the BADU Open Badges motivated them to further develop themselves. The Catalogue of Good Practices includes additionally information about the status and situation of youth work in the countries of the project partners as well as schemes and diagrams of all 55 BADU Metabadges & Open Badges.
