Go Green project is a 24 months project coordinated by YUPI organization in Portugal, in close partnership with Romania, Thailand and Vietnam for a total number of 200 young people and youth workers in the 4 countries involved from Europe and Asia. We want to raise capacity of our organizations to support young people who have activities or starting business which are environmentally and community friendly and re-use resources in the scope of circular economy. We want to strengthen the support in youth work through the development of methodologies and procedures of each organization to better integrate and accompany young people who want to start any activity (volunteering or business) in the environmental sector, by raising their employability and entrepreneur skills aligned with an ecological perspective and in a sustainable way.Our main goal is to create an international network of partners interested in creating a system of training of youth workers that reflects the needs of the involved organizations based on non formal education methodology development, through a training referential on the topic that will be disseminated to external partners. This international network aims at raising the capacity of our organizations and others working in the social sector to be more effective and supportive to their youngsters that are in need of integration in the labor market but have many limitations and concerns due to the environmental degradation of nowadays and their lack of knowledge on how to build an environmental and social fair business.Go Green! is supported by previous experiences of partner organizations, built on past capacity building experiences, and foster more quality, diversity and deeper impact on the capacity of the organizations and social impact in the community.

Using both national- and European-level instruments, EU countries enjoy a reasonably well-developed legal and financial framework for supporting volunteering, where numerous entities possess substantial expertise and are able to organise and manage voluntary activities. In the light of recent re-emergence of xenophobic tendencies in Europe, we believe the same process should be initiated and developed with regard to Europe-Asia relations. As more and more European citizens fear the “clash of civilizations” and the influx of migrants from countries with predominantly Muslim populations, we need to provide young people from Europe and Asia with opportunities to co-exist outside the stereotypical context of “isolated migrant diasporas vs. local communities”. Volunteering and youth projects constitute an excellent chance to do so. We believe the challenge of “building bridges” through youth work calls for systematic, long-term cooperation among European and Asian organisations. This, in turn, requires effort in order for partners to generate necessary potential and expertise. The overall aim of the project is to create conditions and develop potential that will allow European and Asian partners collaborate more effectively and on a regular basis in the field of youth work. This calls for framing specific standards of cooperation and methods for ensuring quality in the implementation of youth projects and volunteering activities envisioned in initiatives undertaken by European and Asian entities. First of all, the project is designed to pool the expertise and experiences of all involved partners. Another goal of the project is to provide a chance for exchanging practices and experiences with regard to management, risk handling and communication in Europe-Asia youth projects. All partners wish to enhance their organisational potential for cooperation by developing a set of methods, tools, solutions and practices that will set a common standard of high-quality operations in the organisation of youth activities and volunteering, taking account of relevant cultural and social differences. In order to share experience, skills and tools and to create the final product of the project (guidelines of the project management with the toolkit for international youth workers) we will use the following methods: transfer of methodologies and instruments, teamwork and cooperative learning. All in all, the experience and outcomes of this project will serve as an impulse and basis for a sustained Europe-Asia collaboration model, where quality is assured through commonly developed methods and tools that allow for a better understanding of the impact of social and cultural differences.

It may seem like a single straw that is being used in e.g. Lithuania has no effect on the climate in Fiji. That is not entirely true since all the waters from inland meet together and form the global ocean. It means that every single garbage that we dump can come up at the other end of the world. People need to realise that every single-use straw or plastic bag they use might lead marine creatures to injuries. Moreover, the plastics in the ocean often end up in our food - fish and other seafood ingest the small pieces of plastic that lead to chemical contaminants in our diet. With this in mind, “Save The Ocean Project” aims to tackle one of the biggest environmental crisis now – ocean pollution. In general, the problem lies not in plastic by itself but in the way people use it. In order to save the ocean, we need to change people habits, attitude and behaviour towards plastic consumption. To achieve this, during the project we will organise activities that are related to plastic waste reduction in Fiji, Thailand, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Italy and Lithuania.STOP aims to take a small step towards better habits & cleaner ocean, with more specific objectives being:- To learn about the problems & share good practices from around the participating countries/regions;- To look for ways/solutions to encourage people to use plastic more responsibly;- To raise the qualifications and competences of youth workers and leaders in the field of environmental protection;- To increase awareness of the problem by creating social campaigns and related public events;- Strengthen the partnership between European and non-European organisations. The key activities to achieve these objectives will be:1) Research in the participating countries highlighting the specific problems the local youth encounters in relation to ocean pollution;2) Training courses for youth workers from partner organisations to learn the key competences needed to help to combat plastic waste in the oceans through youth work;3) Job shadowing activities to generate a two-way exchange of good practices on the topic between EU and partner countries;4) Development of open educational resources on the subject, among them – mobile application for youth to raise environmental awareness of plastic overuse and a guidebook for youth workers with recommendations on how the dialogue about environmental issues with the youth can be started;5) The final conference where participants will present the results of the project to the public;6) World Ocean Day celebration to raise environmental awareness of the general public in a fun and entertaining way.

The CHARGER project was a global capacity building initiative engaging 6 youth organizations from Europe and Asia with the main aim to create the partnerships response for the urging global problem of youth unemployment, and create the supporting systems by working with the employability competences. The specific objectives of the project are the following:a) to improve the expertise of the partnership, to enable them to work with NEETs more efficiently;b) to support unemployed young people and NEETs, and particularly those in long-term unemployment to build competencies that will give them better chances to be included in the labor market;c) to develop the methodological framework and tools to support development of the employability skills of young people;d) to enhance active citizenship on local and global level within a group of traditionally passive (long-term) unemployed young people;e) to contribute to improvements of the system or learning recognition within the Learning mobility. The CHARGER project was implemented by a partnership of youth organizations in Spain, France, Thailand, Poland, Nepal and India. The project had the following four main directions of action. The first one was implementation of the International training for trainers and youth workers ¨Empowerment of Young people by developing the employability skills¨ where participants got familiar with the concept of the employability competence framework and how to empower young people using them. Second stage was the local work that includes the outreach and trainings for local NEETs, focusing on the development of the employability skills. Meanwhile there were mobility of 19 EVS volunteers between all participating countries. The last stage was the dissemination and exploitation of results, where each partner will organize one daylong dissemination event. During the project we have developed the 3 video tutorials dealing with the concept of employability skills, and the following topics has been covered:1) What are the employ-ability skills?2) Employability skills that employers are looking for?3) Practical tips on how to work with young people.Besides the videos we have developed the reports and videos from the different activities, as well as magazine that describes the volunteers experience. The first objective of the “Link 2 Continents” was to strengthen the cooperation between Asia and Europe through a project made of different steps and activities which together created a learning process for all the organizations and persons involved. The aim, which was reached, was to support the organizations and youth workers involved to develop new skills and approach new tools for improving the work with young people. During all the project the focus on the topic of diversity was constant and enriched with different point of views. The participating organizations were from Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, this proposal was a follow-up of a cooperation project organized in 2013/14 and has created new collaborations and enforced old ones. “Link 2 Continents” has seen the implementation of a Kick-off meeting in Italy in March 2017 followed by a training course in Thailand in May, 12 EVS short term mobility activities between May and September 2017, local workshops with schools and local partners in each country during all the project and on beginning of 2018 6 job shadowing activities for youth workers. The project produced a concrete output called “Scriptamanent – Volunteers share their experience” which gives visibility and dissemination of their volunteering travel on the other side of the continent, and acts as tool for generating new projects and increase young peoples’ participation in youth projects.
