Abstract
La colección de referencia de los grupos de invertebrados Crustácea (ICN-MHN-CR), Porífera (ICN-MHN-PO), Coelenterata (ICN-MHN-CO), Annelida (ICN-MHN-AN) y Mollusca (ICN-MHN-MO) se inició en 1982 con material existente en el Instituto de Ciencias Naturales. La colección se ha incrementado con material colectado mediante la realización de proyectos de investigación y salidas de campo docente. La colección está conformada en la actualidad por aproximadamente 15.000 ejemplares que incluyen 47 holotipos y 376 paratipos.
